Wonderful B&B. Hilary is a very gracious hostess. Breakfasts were delicious and our room was extremely clean and comfortable. Thanks Hilary for helping us make reservation for Hot Air balloon ride and fixing us two delicious muffins from the night before to take with us first thing in the morning as we had to leave the room at 5:00 am Thank you also for the wonderful snacks (Wine, cheese, salami) that you served at 4:00 pm If ever in the area again your place will in no doubt be where we will stay. Thank you again Pierre A

It poured the 3 days we were there which didn't help my feelings about it. We were in Guinevere's Tower, the room over the detached garage and had to run in the rain to the main house. No coffee making facilities in the room. More running back and forth in the morning. Wine and snacks was served late afternoon. Breakfast was good. No TV anywhere. Out of the way so lots of driving necessary. Would not call this place luxury!

We thank you for this review and are very sorry we did not satisfy you, Roslyn. We put our heart and soul into making every guest feel special, and we are disappointed we missed the mark with you. We would like to thank you for pointing out that Avalon is not a good fit for every guest - due to being off the beaten path and not offering in-room TVs. We also apologize for the bad weather while you were here - it's a risk in winter, but November is usually still nice here in the Russian River area. There are many enjoyable aspects of Avalon for guests who are a good fit for the B&B, for example: whimsically decorated guest rooms in the theme of King Arthur, 5-star California king beds, luxury 400 thread count linens, en suite bathrooms of marble and granite with in-room steam room (Magician's Suite), private hot tub (Enchanted Forest), a magical forest walk to the year-round creek (Purrington Creek - which especially in the rain is an amazing creation of nature), ancient redwoods on property, stunning forest views from every window, all-organic 3-course breakfasts made fresh every morning (favorite breakfast: Brown Sugar Baked Pears with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Mexican Souffle with green chilis, guacamole and chunky pico de gallo, and Double Corn Mini muffins with butter and honey - many of our guests say they saved money on lunch because they were so satisfied after breakfast, lol!)(also - we happily accommodate all special diets such as vegetarian, vegan and gluten free), delectable homemade organic cookies at tea time every afternoon, and world-class wines from right here in Sonoma County at wine hour every evening - all complimentary. In addition, we add value by not charging for parking, bottled water, wifi, drinks and sodas, fresh fruit, and amenities, such as toothpaste, razor, toothbrush - in case you forgot yours. We sincerely hope we will get another chance to host you, Roslyn, the next time you come through (maybe summer or fall would be a better fit), and we would love other TripAdvisor readers to come stay with us at Avalon, let us pamper you, and let the faerie magic sink in.

We spent two night at this wonderful property. The proprietors (Hilary and Gary) are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The property is very private and is nestled in the redwoods next to a beautiful creek. There is a working vineyard bordering the top of theeir property. Hilary provided wonderful breakfasts each day. We came in a quiet period and we're the only guests at the time - so we got their full attention. Graton is near by. They recommended the Underwood Bar & Bistro for dinner the first night. It was very nice and close by in Graton. The second night we went to the Farmhouse Inn which was fabulous (and only about 20 minutes away). It turns out that the best time to "see" the coast is in the Spring or Fall - and in the morning. There is less fog during these times. Hilary recommended a nice easy hike from Wrights Beach to Shell Beach that had beautiful views of the rugged coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will be back. P.S., ask AJ to play something on the piano for you - he's really good!

One of the best B & B's we have ever stayed in. Beautiful property and house. Excellent breakfast and wine and cheese. Jerome, the manager was very accommodating. There are three rooms that are nicely done. We would definitely stay there again. We stayed two nights which was not long enough.

My Husband and i stayed 2 nights here for our anniversary. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was amazing! however i will say a TV would have been nice. After our first night we became quite board and where ready to leave.

We would like to thank you, Patricia, for your review of Avalon. We are so sorry you and your husband were not thrilled with your anniversary stay with us. We really strive to make every stay perfect for our guests. We would like to thank you for pointing out that Avalon does not offer in-room TVs, in case other guests are looking for that particular amenity - we dislike when guests are disappointed, especially on a special anniversary. Avalon does offer a game room with loads of books and games, and we do hope the lively conversation at tea time and wine hour and all the amazing diversions Sonoma County has to offer will hit the mark with our guests. Please keep us in mind for future visits when you are seeking a more peaceful retreat snuggled in a redwood grove.
