Checked in at the bar and had dinner and drinks, huge room. Seemed like a dorm room but very cool experience staying there. Nice tv, clean hotel, breakfast upstairs and friendly service. Would recommend at least a stay of a night

My wife and I stopped by the lumber town of Scotia and found this wonderful 1920"s hotel called the Scotia Inn. We loved the look of this hotel, with pretty grounds and a very friendly staff. We asked to see a room and were given a key to one of their rooms. A large room with an antique bed and... More

Great place to stay. Quiet, comfortable and historical. Perfect spot to launch to the Avenue of the Giants. Dinner in the pub with Lagunitas on tap made me very happy. Kid's menu a plus. Breakfast of fresh baked scones, coffee and fruit was just right to get us on our way to see the big trees.

Well that's what I heard. I went looking but could not find any ghosts. They do close the third floor though. Anyway we had a street view and this town is quiet at night. Very old fashioned style room. Built before the turn of the last century with beautiful woods all about in the lobby and event rooms. Must have... More

My wife and I stayed in this Inn at the end of a three month ROADTRIP. The Inn has seen better days and the rooms are in need of some updating. With this said I still gave it four dots because of it's history and the fact that I love to support the older hotels and Inns even though they... More

August 5, 2013 We enjoyed a wonderful getaway just at the time we need it. Memories of the past when mills were running constantly beckoned me to revisit Scotia. From the moment we made our reservation until we said goodbye two days later it was wonderful, perfect weather, excellent service with freedom to learn about the deeper past history of... More

This is a quaint hotel centrally located near the Redwoods and coastal areas of Northern California. The managers have tried to retain the atmosphere of a nineteenth century building which it is, with antiques and appointments of that era throughout. But there are some shortcomings and idiosyncrasies that one must expect or at least be aware of given the age... More

Weary travellers would love this historical Inn. we were heading back to San fran on the coastal road and were at the end of our travels. We were thrilled to find such an interesting Inn, full of history and we felt comfortable straight away. Especially as the bar had a relaxed feeling and the food was delicious. The staff were... We didn't know what to expect when we booked this inn for an overnight stop, Scotia itself is described as a place you stop on the way to somewhere else with little to recommend it. This historic building was obviously the place to stay in the logging heyday, would love to have visited then. Despite it's elegance, there seems to... More

I reserved a room at this dump over two months prior to visiting the area only to get an e-mail today telling me that there was an error in their online reservation system and that I will not be able to stay there during my visit despite getting a confirmation e-mail saying that I was good. Now I will have... More
