A perfect location. A slightly bonkers but glorious receptionist. A fabulous room with a view of San Francisco, beautifully decorated & with a very comfortable bed. What more do you need? Even a voucher for coffee in the cafe next door!
We had 3 King rooms [parents and two children plus partners] the weekend of Feb 15th, 2020, up to 4 nights. Agree with most prior comments, i.e. small but reasonable sized rooms, older but appealing building and hallways, clean, adequate, mattresses fine, excellent shower, no frig, bottled water available in hallway, parking across street [$20/night], decent enjoyable breakfast next door [with a hotel provided offset of cost; coffee and pastry], small office like reception desk [i.e. no lobby-- on street level--rooms upstairs on second level--elevator or stairs], superb location near boat dock and downtown shops. We cannot speak to queen rooms, or twin bed rooms. Our views were all on the park and/ or the bay--lovely. Friendly, helpful staff. Downsides, it is true that the street noises can be heard in your room, but evenings are quiet and it did not disturb any of us. One of our rooms had a smoke alarm which needed repair, and staff were made aware. It is clearly one of the less expensive hotels in Sausalito, and our joint read of value was high.. Elegance perhaps not, but definitely artistic, and excellent choice for the chance to visit San Francisco and surrounds. We would come here again on our next round.…
We absolutely loved the front desk clerk but she was the best part of our stay. The location of this hotel is outstanding, right in the heart of Sausalito, but our room was tiny and the beds not particularly comfortable. This is an old fashioned place and the architectural details in the public spaces are lovely but there's no lobby, although there's a great cafe right next door (Cafe Tutti) and we were given vouchers for a breakfast pastry and coffee, both excellent. It's one of the least expensive options in a very expensive place, and you get what you pay for.
The perks of the hotel is it’s location, cost, and cleanliness. The disadvantages are the sheets are getting a bit old and have pilling which distract from comfort, noisy in the early morning (5 am) from outside noises (hard to escape in a big city), and parking lot you have to be careful with valuables (ps $20 cost).
We enjoyed our stay here. The front desk and staff were very helpful and welcoming . There was great parking just steps away for reasonable price . The hotel room was adequate ,but not large and had only a shower . The breakfast included was great
