I should have known we were in for a truly unique experience when we saw the hawk perched on the parade grounds a few yards from where we checked in. (During our stay there, we saw deer just outside of our room.) The valet who drove us up to our room in the contemporary part of the resort could not...

The staff at Cavallo Point is very hospitable & accommodating and provided an excellent experience. However, not pretentious; which was refreshing. We immediately felt welcome. The location is quite serene and peaceful. Our room had a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge from our balcony. The room was impeccably clean (important to me) and they managed to pull off...

I was here for one night on a business trip. The Cavallo Point location is fascinating. You must walk or take their golf carts around to see the historic buildings that used to be an old Military base (now also coast guard site). You are almost under the Golden Gate Bridge (from the Sausolito Side. The Fog coming in was...

It was absolutely lovely to fall asleep with a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge as if it were a picture on the wall! We spent a very relaxing weekend here and truly enjoyed every moment. We stayed in a contemporary king room - and highly recommend upgrading to a room with a view. The amenities were fabulous -...

Grounds: The grounds grass needs to be fertilized and manicured. For 400+ per/night the grounds should be immaculate. They are patched and worn and it does not look nice as a supposedly 4 star rated resort vacation. The barracks are rather old and so you feel the sense that everything around you needs to be gutted and updated. In addition,...

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for the review. We are located in a National Park and a LEED Gold certified property, so combined, our landscaping concern considers the natural environment, and a sustainable practice. Many of our guests stay with us for these reasons and cherish the sense of history that has been carefully restored. However, we do appreciate that...

We only had one night here, but found the place to be soothing and relaxing with a real air of calm. We had a two bed suite in the old buildings, which was beautifully converted and tastefully done. The only shame was the cold July weather which meant we couldn't sit on the porches. I did a great free early...

We booked this hotel because we wanted to stay in Sausalito, not downtown San Francisco. It turned out to be the right decision. The hotel is actually a former military fort, redeveloped as a hotel. The rooms are located in old style houses in colonial style, very beautiful and stylish, like I have rarely seen in the US. The Golden...
