With six months of Quarantine due to CoVid, pre-existing conditions, and a new Grandbaby to babysit, we haven't ventured too far from home. We've stayed at ForFriends two other times in years past, and have wonderful memories of those visits. Loved ForFriends then, but after all they did to make us feel safe and free from worry during this uncertain CoVid Season, we love this place even more. It is not just the accommodations, which are beautiful, welcoming and comfortable, it is the Owners and Staff. ForFriends is not just a name. As my husband and I made our plans to "retreat away from reality", I confirmed and reconfirmed some special requests, and sent several long emails. After all the dialogue, we can honestly say that this B & B lives up to it's name, "For Friends" Inn. First and foremost, since I thought you might want to know: Super clean room (and lovely well kept property)! From the moment we walked in to our room, we felt safe enough to relax and enjoy our room. Even the guest bathroom in the main house was spotless. Important priorities during any season, but even more so with CoVid concerns. Don't forget to walk down to the comfortable garden area behind the main house. I hear that on the weekends, and before CoVid Season, I believe that this is the hospitality gathering place, And, in "the olden days" :) there was even live music. Imagine that! For now, thankful to have a peaceful safe place where you can enjoy some uninterrupted time with someone you love. Except for masks and social distancing, it felt as normal as you could ask for during CoVid. We still saw and interacted with other guests, once seated at breakfast. You could remove your mask and see "real faces"! We were seated at tables more than six feet apart. We enjoyed a delicious, light breakfast, two mornings, on the front patio (at our own nicely decorated socially distanced table. Which for our personalities, was a perfect set up :)! ). Breakfast: You could tell is meant to be enjoyed at leisure and a labor of love. There were homemade touches that made even my gluten free tummy happy. The special homemade gluten free granola, with fruit and yogurt was delicious, along with choice of crustless quiche or scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage (different both days), popovers for hubby and for me gf toast, and juice. Great flavored coffee, served in a For Friends Inn logo Mug. (It is special touches that make you look forward to having to wear a jacket, while eating breakfast outside during CoVid Season. Eating out has now become an adventure!.) Very pleasant way to begin ones day. My hubby is not a fan of Bed and Breakfast Accommodations in general, but wanted me to add to this review, that he loves this place :). (The truth, so NOT kidding!) We stayed in the Sunstone Tower, which is a treat! (Separate accommodations at the back end of the property.) Two stories high with two Queen Beds (one on each level). Western decor and a lovely bathroom. To stay in the tower, be aware there are stairs. There is about 15 stairs to the top floor. It was a little bit of a workout :). But we thought it added extra charm and fun to the accommodation. :) The woodwork in this tower room is awesome!!! Mini fridge too. Coffee available in your room. We loved the gas Fireplace, just a flip of a switch. My hubby has never been good at building a fire, so this was an added bonus for him. :). Don't wait too long to reserve the Sunstone Tower. Finally, on our third visit, we were able to be the first in line. Loved it!!! Lots of tasting rooms are open in the area, and some beautiful places to picnic. Some tasting rooms and wineries in the area are offering full tastings, some only glasses, or share a bottle. Almost every place we went had small bites for purchase. Check the Tasting Room or Winery Websites before visiting. There were a few that took walk ins. But if your heart set on a place to taste, make sure you make reservations and leave yourself plenty of time. We felt rushed a couple of times at the busier/larger wineries we went to. It was a bit of an adjustment to manage the timing and reservation thing. For what we saw and heard, weekends are picking up. Mid- week visits are nice and relaxing and not crowded. Some places are not open at all mid-week or have limited hours. All tastings are socially distanced and outside. Tips were very much appreciated and we bought a bottle at every place we tasted. Two added reasons for choosing ForFriends Inn: 1. 4:30-5:30 socially distanced Hospitality Hour. Enjoy a glass of wine and a prepared portioned/covered selection of "bites" to enjoy with your wine (ie: cheese, nuts, dried fruit, and crackers). It was even offered, to be brought to our room. Now that is pampering, if I don't say so myself. 2. Friendship Pass (a handful of local tasting room, winery and restaurant coupons. Saved us money!). Great places to eat within walking distance from FFI with Social Distanced Outdoor Dining. You don't even need to get back in your car after the Hospitality Hour!!! Bring your warm jacket though. Can get nippy at night. Dave will fill you in on the best places to eat! Thanks again "Friends"!: Special thank you to Alicia, and to Dave for answering my zillion emails. You were so kind and helpful and I know you went the extra mile. :) I didn't catch the name of the Master Cook in the Kitchen, but thanks for coming out and saying hi and for making me gf granola and gf toast!!!! Don’t hesitate to venture out to Santa Ynez. Make For Friends Inn your go to escape. You will have a wonderful time! Grateful Hugs, Joann and Joey H.

Property's Favorite Review
When our son and his family moved to Santa Ynez last year, we couldn’t wait to meet our newest grandson and see their new place. We wanted to find lodging nearby so it would be convenient. ForFriends Inn is walking distance, so we figured we’d give it a try. A little over a year later, it’s become our home away from home. I think we’ve stayed there five times now. The proprietors, Katie and Dave, along with Sandra and Alicia, do a fantastic job. They are gracious and thoughtful. It’s always clean, Sandra makes delicious breakfasts and it’s a relaxing environment. It’s also right in town so you can walk to all the local places. I’m going to gush a little more about this charming inn: The hosts are knowledgeable about the area and local wine scene; they will happily help you figure out the best activities to check out when you're in the area. We love ForFriends and my wife is standing over my shoulder trying to get me to type more superlatives... but I have chores to do. One more thing: We were nervous about traveling there recently due to COVID but Dave, Katie and team are following protocols to the letter. We felt totally safe and comfortable. I recommend ForFriends Inn without hesitation. Oh yeah, and my wife does too… and wants to go there right now.

A charming, welcoming, family run B & B with some delicious perks. Our room with ramp and patio conveniently located, was airy and comfortable and we appreciated the large, safe walk-in shower. Wine and cheese on the patio is a delightful way to be welcomed after a long drive, as we assembled, just the six of us, with our family members for a weekend of celebrations and opened a bottle of champagne to toast the Bride and Groom to be. Dave Pollock, owner, arranged chairs in front of a raised deck and pergola and our fairytale wedding took place in a delightful little grove at the rear. The breakfasts were delicious, in particular the quiche. Cheerfully served and thoroughly enjoyed. Kudos to Dave and Katie Pollock and Sandra Ramos for the delicious breakfasts, afternoon cheese and wine and excellent coffee but most of all for the warm welcome. We plan to return very soon. It’s that kind of place.

Beautiful B&B. Great rooms and walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. The Red Barn steakhouse, next door, is great as well. The hosts are great people. After dinner ask Dave to break out his guitar.

I'm a frequent client of this inn and yet they still continue to surprise me and make things better. Even in a pandemic, I felt very safe and comfortable with the precautions Dave, Katie and Sandra were taking. The inn remains a beautiful escape to a wonderful area that has improvised to continue offering wine tastings and great cuisine. But one of the most wonderful things about the in is Sandra's breakfasts! From creating unique jellies out of reduced wine to mixing her own unique granola, she excels. Even the yogurt has her touch (honey!). And her quiches and other dishes are invariably unique and perfect. The popovers are fresh out of the oven and still steaming. Sandra is the heart of the place in so many ways. (BTW: her jellies an granola can be purchased on site to take a touch of the inn home.) I'll be back and often bring friends; I know they won't be disappointed. Thank you so much, and hug Wrigley (the most welcoming inn dog) for me.

Jeannie, You are the best! Thanks for always being such a good friend of the inn. We always look forward to your visits. Thanks also for your many kind mentions about Sandra. Yes, she is the heart of the place and as we often say, she's also the glue that holds it altogether. See you again soon, Dave, Katie, Sandra,
