The Sandman is a nice motel. I would have to agree with what most reviewers have said about the quality and comfort of the rooms. However, it is just a reasonably nice motel, nothing more than that, nothing special. They are charging as much or more than area hotels that are in a higher class, such as the Best Western,... Based on the reviews here, I booked a night's stay while passing through. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable; no complaints. Continental breakfast consists mainly of juices, coffee/tea and processed, store bought muffins and scones; nothing special but also not very appetizing, so I grabbed breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Def would stay here again and would recommend... More

I was extremely satisfied with my stay here. Large rooms, ample parking, and a basic breakfast included. There were absolutely no problems, and the hotel met all of my needs. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are visiting Santa Rosa or the Sonoma wine country. **Booking Tip:** When booking, check the price directly with the hotel website. For the... More

Location was somewhat convenient. Queen bed and the room was nice. Housekeepers kept the room very clean. Continental breakfast was excellent. Quite a lot of room remodeling happening around our room. Travels be aware that this location is more like a Motel then a hotel.

This is definitely your old variety of motel. It appears to have been built in the 60s. Although it is old, it is clean and the beds and rooms were fine, but quite dark. You must have a car to stay here as there are no attractions or decent eating or entertainment facilities close by. The supplied breakfast is basic,... More

I would give the Sandman 3, overall. The idea of this motel/hotel I had after looking at their website did not match what I saw when I pulled up! They are not close to a rolling hill or grapevine. The exterior is in major need of an upgrade. The office staff was welcoming though. Our room was clean and the... More

A clean and comfortable motel, better than some I have stayed in. The room had a slightly musty aroma but other than that I slept well. The room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. A basic continental breakfast was available.

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel. Each time the room has been clean and comfortable. I love having the refrigerator/freezer in the room... really helped to refreeze our cool packs for the multiple days of wine tasting/buying... as the 100 plus degree weather would have thoroughly cooked our wine otherwise! The free breakfast was just... More
