Detailed Reviews
The hotel is very clean, modern, staff was helpful but couldn't commit to a room away from the freeway and the 101 noise all night was very disruptive. Also the bathroom has an auto turn on light that is very bright when you get up at 2:00 a.m. to use the facilities. No way seemingly to disable it.

The hotel was clean, brand new. I booked a wheelchair accessible room because my son is in a wheelchair and he was going in for surgery the next day. The wheelchair accessible room I got was on the 2nd floor, at the end of a hallway. I had to maneuver his chair into the room. If there would have been an emergency, power outage, fire, earthquake, we would have been trapped in the 2nd floor.

Plenty of space and very modern. I love the Keurig and the lobby coffee too. I will keep LaQuinta in mind. They know how to make guests feel comfortable and their rates are affordable. Friendly and helpful.

This is the worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in. DO NOT waste your time or money staying at this disaster of a hotel. It is new, and may look nice in the photos the management posts, but be forewarned, they will not honor room requests, they will not clean your room even when you request it, they won’t leave clean towels, or throw out the trash from your room. They will not make arrangements for an ADA room if you have mobility problems. They will not try to resolve these problems when you bring then to their attention in a calm and respectable way. I will not lower myself to the level of shouting and swearing to be heard. Maybe that would work in this place, but it’s not my way.
I spoke with the general manager of the hotel and told him the problems I was having. The man looked me in the eye and told me was going to investigate. He said that my complaint was on the top of his agenda. Keep in mind, one of my biggest complaints was that no one has cleaned this room in the 5 days I’ve been in here. When I returned to the hotel this evening, the trash is still in here. The bed is unmade. The towels have not been replenished. The coffee service has not been refilled.
If you stay here expect to be treated with disrespect. Expect to be ignored if you you voice any complaints. Expect to pay a good sum to be treated in this manner. I will not be staying at a La Quinta anywhere again.

I reserved a double queen suite for my family of 5 and was told that they gave that room to someone else. They put me in a king handicap room for 5 ppl and was told that was the best he can do. No manager available because it was 5pm and they are gone for the day. I was told to take it or leave it. Because it was last minute, there were no other hotels available for 5 people. We stayed 5 nights and requested once for room cleaning and that never happened. We requested for clean towels upon returning from Bodega Bay 1 might and was told they don't have any and to go take what we can find in pool area. I dont expect much from this type of hotels but for $200+/nt this was unacceptable. They could not even provide the basics of what you would call a hotel.

I stayed here in April while I explored and hiked all the surrounding areas. I was out all day and only returned to shower and sleep. It was a great value for that.
PROS:
Great price for the area - cheaper than comparable hotels.
Very good breakfast. Buffet of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffle maker, beads and toaster, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, dry cereal, coffee and juice.
Room size was big. Room was clean. Large bathroom counter. Fridge.
Two fast elevators.
Good location 5 min from downtown Santa Rosa, 35 min to most Sonoma County and Napa locations.
CONS:
NO Wifi.
The hotel was right off the freeway, yet tucked behind another building. A little difficult to find at first. Some freeway noise.
Parking lot was packed with small spaces in which to park.
Weak, low-flow toilet and shower (like ALL hotels in California, a state plagued by persistent drought)
Carpet was old and dingy. Pets are allowed, so the carpets are destroyed and smell like well... pets.
Some noisy families, but that's not the fault of the hotel.
Old, loud, somewhat dusty wall unit heater, but it worked.
No windows that opened. No bathroom window and the door automatically drifted closed, so if you want to heat the bathroom or air it out, you'll need to prop it open.
My room was right next to the elevators, so it was a bit loud at times with the comings and goings and conversations from those waiting for the elevator.
In sum, I'd stay here again just because you can't beat the price and a full breakfast is very hard to find these days.

We were excited for our stay because I’m pretty sure this was recently built, however, we could not discourage you from staying here more. Paper thin walls allowed plenty of noise from all sides, but ESPECIALLY from the people above us. We had the smell of cigarette smoke pour in through our bathroom all night. The hotel is DIRECTLY off the freeway, which is extremely loud. Also, we had a dog with us, which meant they put us on the first floor. They charge $20/pet/night, which was reasonable in comparison to other hotels, HOWEVER, it’s just pure profit for them because it was pretty evident that they did not do a thorough cleaning after the last guests checked out. There was dog hair all over and a lingering wet dog smell in the room. On top of everything, the hotel’s location is super sketchy. The single drive leading up to the hotel had about a half dozen or so janky RVs parked, overnight and into the morning. Overall, not the experience we expected, especially for a rate north of $300/night.

My power was turned off due to fire danger, so I chose to spend a comfortable night away. Apparently so did many others, as a lot of places were full. I remembered having seen the new La Quinta off Santa Rosa Avenue, and gave them a call. It’s on a small lane behind some businesses on the main drag, but the directions were good and I found it easily.
It had just opened 3 days before, but everything was spot-on- lovely greeting at the front desk, easy check in, beautiful modern common spaces, and the room was well appointed and lovely. Having been mostly at home since March, I was a bit concerned about COVID-19 health practices. This place seemed to have been designed with all that in mind. There is an area where one can purchase food and drinks to enjoy in one’s room, which is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. A bagged breakfast and coffee/tea service is available in the morning. I had a very comfortable visit, and would stay there again anytime.
There’s a large shopping center nearby with just about everything and easy freeway access.

The room was very clean with the exception of some ants in the bathroom. The breakfast was very good. The beds were comfortable. I do have some issues, however. Wyndham has the policy of exchanging bath towels every 3 days and encourages you to hang them "on the rack" to reuse them. However, there is NO rack in the bathroom on which to hang them, and there was room for one on the back wall. Secondly, the tub was very slippery and there were no grab bars in there to provide stability. Also, the sensor light in the bathroom would just randomly go on during the night. Maybe it was sensing the ants :-). I agree with other reviewers that the $10 parking fee is unnecessary. Lastly, for some reason it was difficult to regulate the temperature of the room. When the A/C was on, the room was cold. When it was off, the room was warm. This made sleeping difficult.

Check in was such a fiasco I don’t ever want to come back. We were checked in to a room that wasn’t cleaned yet - which is a mistake that can happen. But after that, the front desk staff did not care at all to offer any solution - they just said “can’t you just put your bags in the room while they clean it and come back in a hour?” That was the only solution offered! No offer to find us another room or help us with bags or hold the bags in a secure location. We ended up repacking our car and leaving for two hours. This was a $340 room!
