This place is not big (compared to going to Africa) but they pack in a wide range of animals, exhibits and activities in a well designed setting. There is a main compound, with the eating and sleeping areas, near the park entrance. There is also a small "zoo" with birds and small animals. Great for taking a walk after a... More

We opted to stay one night in their tents on the property and it was a fantastic experience......think "glamping". The tents have canvas walls and hardwood floors and real (super comfortable) beds. There is no AC, no TV, no phone service and no Wifi (except by the cafe) and it was PERFECT! I wish I had known this beforehand as... More

We live in the Bay Area (Novato) and wanted to take our 8 year old granddaughter as she LOVES animals. We all had a good time and it was a pleasant day. I thought some of the paths the jeep/bus drove on were somewhat narrow and with a drop could be dangerous though. Our driver was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

Dear Guest. I'm glad to hear that you and your family had an enjoyable visit to Safari West. I'm especially pleased to learn of your granddaughters love of animals. Safari West exists to inspire connections between vulnerable wildlife and the generation that will have to learn how to coexist with them. That said, I am sorry to hear that some... More

Did a 9am Safari, stayed one night in Tent #27. Quality yummy food. Don't let the buffet set up fool you! The "tents" are neat and have no TV/internet (no cell service w/Sprint). Full bathrooms. If you are a light sleeper I suggest staying in the higher numbered tents. The Safari was GREAT; animals seem well taken care of. One... More

This was my third overnight visit to Safari West. It is simply that special! It is a wonderful place to go with or without children. All of the children I saw seemed to be having a grand time. Probably not the best for a young infant if you include the 3 hour safari tour in your program. All accommodations are... More

Enjoyed a wonderful 20 hours of resting in nature. All the staff were kind and helpful and the animals were as well. We had dinner there which was simple and acceptable and then slept in our tent with the sound of all the animals particularly the birds. We all slept well and in the morning had some breakfast and then... More

Breathtaking! Animals you wouldn't expect to see here in Santa Rosa!! Three hours touring 400 acres of land on a jeep with a guide. Great for the entire family. Tent cabins are available for you to sleep-in also. Mouthwatering barbeque after the tour. And let me tell you, my pictures do not do this place justice! One must see for... More

We had a fun 1-night stay at Safari West. The grounds are beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the safari ride. The atmosphere at dinner was fun...like going to camp, but as a family. The food was good and plentiful. Later in the evening, we all enjoyed the smores and campfire. And we had a nice breakfast in the morning. Our... More

We could not go through the wine country without staying overnight at Safari West again. The evening barbecue was average but convenient if you are staying overnight. Love, love, love the openness of the tents. They are so luxurious-camping fresh air while sleeping in a nice big bed. Of course loved all the animals roaming around. Our guide on the... More

This was our first visit to Safari West. We were treated to a special lunch among some of the animals and then we boarded our safari truck and spent a couple hours viewing and learning about all the animals; giraffes, zebras, rhinos, wildebeests, etc. There are lots of grazing animals and very few predators- apparently there are cheetahs but we...
