The property was bursting with Spring! The gardens were in full bloom. Just walking the grounds was relaxing. Our room was well appointed, with complimentary refreshments. And the view from our balcony of the vineyard was gorgeous! Our dinner at John Ash was over the top! Delicious and excellent service.

Property is so clean, beautiful and well-kept. Location is perfect, as it’s right in town so you have all the conveniences, yet feels so secluded and peacefully. Staff was all very friendly. Great service. It was a perfect mini vacay! I didn’t want to leave.

This is a really nice weekend getaway spot. Great location to access wineries in all directions. Terrific restaurant and close to many more. It looks to have been updated since we were last here. All very tasteful with lovely gardens. Very friendly staff too.

First, let me refer you to Debbie A’s complimentary review in October, 2020. All of the positive features are correct. The purpose of this brief review isn’t to negate the positive but to alert visitors of unnecessary charges. Some might quibble over my objection to the egg- centric breakfast offerings, with no yoghurt and no pastries/breads for which the pastry chef is known. There is an oatmeal/quinoa blend and a lackluster granola. This isn’t the problem. When paying the first night’s deposit on a discounted rate of $318, we received confirmation with a total of $398–a 25% increase. The 14% taxes were included but also a resort fee of $30 + 14%!!! When questioned why there was a resort fee for services not rendered owing to Covid restrictions, the receptionist claimed that it covered free parking (of which there is no shortage), freedom to walk along the gardens (which you do anyway to get to your room), use of the heated pool, a half bottle of wine and three soft drinks in the minibar, WiFi, BUT no newspapers or exercise room. (Newspapers could have been provided by delivering them wrapped, like the bathrobes). All of these were included when it was Vintners Inn. Apparently changing the name to Vintners will cost you $35 for the same amenities. NOTE: Just because you call yourself a resort doesn’t make you one. To their credit and because we asked, we were allowed to check in at 2 pm.

This was our third time staying at the Vintner’s Resort, and first time in one of the new buildings. I can’t decide which I like better. The resort’s buildings are arranged to resemble a Tuscan village. The original section of the resort oozes charm, with ivy covering the walls of the buildings. The newer section has a more contemporary feel with more contemporary furnishings. You can’t go wrong with either, but I think I prefer the newer buildings (numbered 800 & 900) because of the bathroom. It is stunning. A spacious walk in shower. Double vanity. And separate water closet. We always book a king bed with fireplace. This type of room means you will be on the second floor and will have a small balcony. We had coffee on our balcony every morning and enjoyed the quiet sunrise and vineyard view. It was exactly why we were visiting the wine country . . . . such an ambiance. The Vintner’s Resort is owned by the same family that owns Ferrari Carano winery. If you have visited the winery, you know they know how to bring the charm and elegance. A welcome bottle of their wine is provided in each room. It is complimentary, along with water and soft drinks. Take a glass of the wine with you and wonder though the resort’s vineyard for a pleasant walk. The resort takes COVID precautions seriously. The bathrobes are sealed in plastic, as are the ironing board and iron. Housekeeping does not come into your room during your stay unless you call and request something. If service is requested, housekeeping will come only when you are out of the room, for contactless service/delivery. The resort is pricey. But, ooohh, those extra fluffy towels and soft bed are worth it. Be sure to look for specials or email the resort and inquire, because with COVID, entertainment restrictions and the fires, occupancy is down and they are offering some fantastic deals. The spa is closed until restrictions are relaxed by the county, so we missed out on services, but we look forward to returning to enjoy the spa, and some more of this beautiful resort’s hospitality.
