we had a great time everyone was super friendly hotel very well staffed room very clean and was ready for us upon arrival great location also special shout out to Hernan our driver SO GREAT we will be back for sure
Excellent. Clean room, warm tasty room service food, professional and polished customer service. Quiet location yet close to beach and great restaurants and shops. Food quality of the food in the bar was excellent.
Not all hotels can or should be "5 star," of course, but all should aim to be excellent at whatever they are. The Fairmont pitches itself as "luxury" and it is nice, don't get me wrong, and the service was super kind, and we had a clean room -- so all good there -- but there is zero sparkle to the room; decor is beyond plain; bedding is fair not amazing; bathroom amenities are straightforward but without style, wisdom, or delight...It all feels "ho-hum," DESPITE the incredible tree that greets you at the entrance! The AMAZING ocean that awaits you across the street! The excellent staff that serves with a smile! And Fig, the restaurant, with The Most Delicious tomato salad straight from the farm I have ever tasted. We had a swell staycation-overnight at Fairmont Santa Monica -- it is well-managed and a solid Good -- but those in charge might consider their competitiveness among the 5-stars, what might add some pep, something memorable, to their "brand"...…
My teen daughter and I came and stayed for a week. I used my Amex perks and points for the stay which made it all the better. I was very worried about staying here as service reviews had been terrible around the time of the trip making me wonder if something had happened to make it all awful - mass exodus of employees, new ownership, etc. We had a completely different experience. Everyone was lovely who worked here. Professional, warm, always wanting to help. Our suite in the tower was great, maybe slightly dated, but lovely. The bed was very comfortable. the products we top. The service on the beach was great too. Finally, people have to realize this is a crazy time. Its tough to staff businesses, its difficult to get supplies, and every hotel and restaurant has to be in a constant state of uncertainty. We all need to give hotels a break and recognize how hard it is to make everything work well.…
Beautifully maintained hotel on the beach with impeccable service. Great location with wonderful restaurants, pools, and grounds. Would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended. Get an ocean view if you can.
