Just spent 3 nights here. Lovely hotel, ocean views, excellent location, great service. Will take you to beach or pier in hotel car. Only downside is the noise if you are staying in a south facing room. Hotel rents the corner as a party spot. Lots of people, lots of heavy bass until well into the night. May not have the same impact if not staying over a weekend.
Lovely setting and a great location but we were very disappointed with the service. We were there for a birthday celebration and looking forward to eating in the Fig Tree Restaurant. At check in, we were advised very specifically to line up at the Fig Tree Restaurant 10 minutes before 5:00 for Happy Hour, which we did. When we reached the head of the line after waiting, we were told “reservations only”. The hostess was officious and uninterested in the misinformation given by the front desk. (We certainly could have made a reservation had we been give. The right info). We went next door for a drink and saw the party at the table beside was given the Happy Hour menu from the Fig Tree as an “exception” but we were told it was not available to us. Totally insulting and arbitrary.
4 Days and 4 Nights could not have gone any better! From check in to check out and all things in between. The staff was exceptional; front desk, guest services, drivers, housekeeping and pool attendants. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure needs were met and were a pleasure to work with. Definitely on the list of places to return to ~
I wanted to like this property as they do a great job marketing themselves on social media, however the reality of the experience staying here is anything but glamorous. No bellman or valet at the entrance to help with bags. Front desk staff all on their phones and no one greeted me until I said hello twice. Was upgraded to an Oceanview room in the tower due to my Accor status, which did have a nice view of the Santa Monica pier, however the condition of the room and the hallways were disappointing: very worn floors, stained carpets, mismatched furniture, tiny bathroom and chips and scratches on everything. The sliding doors offer no insulations so you hear road noise and party noise nonstop, as well as your neighbors next door and above you. The blackout drapes also don't block the light across the top of the windows so you're still awakened at 6am to blaring sunlight. The air conditioning in my room was absolutely useless, I called down to have it looked at and the staffer asked "did you turn it all the way down?" Really??? I had it as far down as it would go at the highest fan setting (65*) and the room never got cooler than 74. So basically I paid $900 a night to sweat to death in bed... talk about a luxury experience! Other pain points include a small and poorly maintained pool area, and an indoor/outdoor gym complete with rusty, sticky equipment that is somewhat difficult to use due to the lack of maintenance. I called to have more water brought to my room, it never came. Calling for anything really is a 50/50 chance someone will actually answer the phone. I had a drink at the bar which was the best area in the hotel all points considered, and then had dinner in the Fig restaurant which was good but nothing memorable for $150 for an appetizer and chicken dish. Restaurant was severely understaffed but my waiter was very apologetic and friendly so I didn't make a fuss. If you stay in a cabana you have a bit more of a private and self-contained experience, but to be honest, I would never stay here again. The renovations to the lobby are cosmetic and there has clearly been little to no investment in the guest experience and staff is ambivalent at best. Live and learn!…
horrible experience here., this hotel has a night club and is to loud every day until 3 am you can sleep here ... to noise and front desk never aware you about this I talk with people working in there all said the same thing all member and guests complaint about the noise . don't say here if you want to relax ...
Amazing experience. Great location with a spectacular sunset view.. and the stuff is extremely friendly and kind Concierge service is always available…….overall highly recommended if you are visiting this part of LA
Its an amazing facility, small but right next on ocean drive and 2 mins from 3rd street promenade. The interior is luxurious and rooms are good. I am giving 5 stars just because of amazing staff and services. We had infant so wanted to access a microwave to heat food but they instead sent a microwave to our room. I wanted to buy a cake for my sons birthday and they sent me in hotel car with driver to a bakery .5 miles away. They will offer you free upgrades if available and you will find every person cheerful making a very positive vibe. They have beach tables set with waiters and a car to take you to the beach. It just gives a very luxurious feeling in everything you do in the hotel. It is expensive hotel but very much worth it if you compare to other hotels in santa monica
Lovely hotel in a beautiful location right opposite the beach and close to the Santa Monica Pier. Friendly staff who made our stay warm & welcoming. The food was amazingly delicious! The pool was quite fun. Our rooms were spacious and luxurious. We loved the overall New Years vibe and decorations.
The hotel is in a great location near an excellent shopping promenade as well as right by the beach. Our room was enormous and very well appointed. There is a coffee shop called doghouse which is great for breakfast. The pool wasn't busy at all and the gym is great with views of the ocean.
This was our first time at the Fairmont Santa Monica, we loved it so much we are hoping to go back in October. From Check in with Derek who was great to Troy in guest services always being so helpful. At the restaurant Soho Lounge manager Brad was wonderful. Juanita went above and beyond every time we went to have a snack or a drink even singing Happy Birthday to me which was just so wonderful. There is a gentleman that always brought out water at Soho that was so very sweet and always remembering my name, made you feel at home. Also want to thank Dino the driver that was available for taking you to near by places was fantastic and so friendly and nice. Would recommend the Fairmont to anyone who asks.
