I was driving Route 66 and started at Santa Monica. I needed the Route 66 sign at the pier and decided to stay at this hotel. It's convenient and expensive. Parking was ridiculously pricey. The hallway needed a good vacuum but the room was pretty nice. Considering I was on the street side across from a 24 hour McDonald's it...

So I spent four days at this hotel and to be honest I didn't really expect much due to the not so stellar reviews on tripadvisor. However the hotel is actually great. The location cannot be beaten and the staff are so friendly. Adrianna at the front desk is so cheerful, bubbly, welcoming, and helpful with any request. I didn't...

This is our second visit to Santa Monica and we really couldn't be happier with the hotel. The rooms are clean tidy and spacious and have nice enough views. The location is fantastic, literally a 2 minute walk to the pier. None of these things are what makes the hotel for me. It's the staff! They are welcoming and go...

The location of this hotel is ideal, near plenty of shops, restaurants and right on the beach and not too far from the airport. The rooms are a great size, lovely and big, clean - not particularly modern but it didn't bother me as I would rather have somewhere large and comfortable. Also had a sofa in the room which...

Stayed for 3 nights at this hotel at the end of our Route 66 adventure and found its location perfect for visiting all the attractions Santa Monica has to offer. The room was very clean and most comfortable. My only issue was the price of Parking on site a ridiculous $47 per day but parking does seem at a premium...

Rooms are clean and quiet, with the exception of rooms that view the freeway out the window. Traffic can be very noisy, particularly very early in the morning. I believe that we stay in 520 which was a corner room with a nice view of the ocean if you looked west (to the right of the window). It also looked...

This hotel is perfectly situated for the Santa Monica Pier, beautiful beach, metro and Third Avenue shopping area. The hotel staff are very friendly, the room was very clean, the bed was lovely and comfortable, there is a swimming pool too but time was too short to try it out, maybe next time. We would definitely like to stay here...

This was a wonderful hotel, the staff was friendly, the service great. The room was clean, the location was the major reason we selected this hotel, it is literally steps from the pier. Now, the minuses. Parking is non existant in Santa Monica. Not the hotels fault but still a minus. The room was a bit snug. We had four...

If you want to stay near the Santa Monica Pier, you can't beat the location - it's just down the block. However, it's noisy at night and there are quite a few homeless people hanging out around the corner of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and the rooms were nice (though small) and beds were comfortable. There's a...

All in all this is a great hotel. Check in was a breeze, some of the comfiest beds I've EVER slept in, steps from the pier and beach, clean, and worth the money. Sucky wifi and $47.30/day valet parking is a RIP OFF. Didn't use the pool or restaurant at all.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
