We have just finished our 6 night stay at The Huntley. We were extremely happy with everything during our stay. The hotel is pure luxury with Bvulgari products in all rooms and candles burning in the foyer which produced a beautiful smell each time we entered the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the beautiful maid on our floor. Always happy and smiling.
The room was huge and perfect for our family of four. The beds were very comfortable with duck feather pillows. Extremely clean rooms. The only negative would be the size of the bathroom which was very pokey. We requested a fridge which was brought swiftly to our room and was handy for milk and food for our boys during the stay.
The hotel is in a wonderful and safe location close to restaurants, the beach and 3rd Street shopping precinct and only a short walk to the Santa Monica Pier.
Overall we would highly recommend this hotel and stay again if we ever make it back to the states!

The Huntley was every bit as fabulous as I had imagined. I initially planned to stay here for a night on a multi-day west coast trip in April 2023, but my trip was cancelled at the last minute due to airline issues/pilot shortage. The Huntley has a generous cancellation policy and accommodated my request without any penalties.
I finally had the chance to stay for 2 nights in July 2024, and it was pure luxury from the moment you stepped in the lobby. Check in was a smooth and personalized process, with chairs for guests to sit in - I had never seen something like this before and it was a nice touch that made us feel special. The lady checking us in was a relatively new hire, yet she gave the impression that she was an experienced professional - so polite and accommodating.
I reserved a premier room with 2 queens, and we were given a view of the coast facing Malibu and Pacific Palisades. We checked in on the 4th of July, and were treated to fireworks that evening from all over the area. This side also has spectacular sunsets.
The room was spotless and luxurious. It was well-sized and had a large walk-in closet. Bathroom was modern and had a lot of special touches, including touch-activated light switches. The bathroom felt as though it had been designed by a woman or with her input, as it had a lot of features that I appreciated - fluffy towels, extendable makeup mirror, adjustable lighting, sufficient shelving for toiletries despite the overall small size of the restroom. It has a shower only (which is my preference for hotels).
The bed was extraordinarily comfortable, with plenty of pillows and blankets. The room came with an iPad that you could use for ordering room service, requesting more towels, etc. I loved this feature, and we used it to order drinks and dessert one night. Desserts were fancy and delicious, and service was prompt.
Other pros of the Huntley were free bottled water at check in and convenient valet parking (a little pricey but consistent with market prices for the area). We also dined at the Penthouse one evening - absolutely fabulous views from here, even if you did not have a window seat (from my table in the middle, all I could see was ocean out the windows!). Food was ok, but views were worth it for at least 1 meal. Make sure to take the separate elevator that goes straight to the restaurant, as that is the one with a glass wall and ocean views.
A few areas for improvement: the temperature of the room was difficult to regulate. It was a little toasty in there when we arrived, and we tried turning the thermostat down to 68 but it never felt cold (normally I am a freeze baby and would keep it at 72-74. Cracking the window in the morning or evening helped, as it was cooler outside at those times. There was also no fridge in the room to keep the bottled water we received (although I believe one is available upon request). Finally, the toilet ran quite frequently in 1108.
Overall, this was a wonderful choice for Santa Monica, and I would stay here again gladly.

Impressed with The Huntley! Second visit here, and second time I experienced outstanding service. Staff is incredibly friendly & helpful. Rooms are very clean, comfortable beds, quality linens, quiet. Room had a pretty view of the ocean. As a solo traveller I found the location feels safe and is within walking distance to some great restaurants and the beach. A free upgrade was offered. Valet parking is reasonable price especially for the area. There is also a driver on premises who will drop off within a local area.

The hotel is decent. It looks like interior is newly renovated in an old building. The service leaves much to be desired.
The staff was attitude was mixed. The check-in reception was very friendly. The check-out reception was rude.
The restaurant has good views at the 17th floor but the food was expensive and 3 star at best.
The hotel has this fancy pressure sensitive minibar fridge. If you touch anything or put anything even small in the fridge the sensor will trigger and you are charged. Even if you don’t take anything and put things back nicely. They charge you a minimum of $25 if the pressure sensors are activated. This was not explained on checkin. And checkout person was extremely rude with a tone that was like shame on you. There is a small card hanging on a separate bottle in a different location with small print this will happen. Who would know that? At least put it on the handle on the fridge.
In addition, all the hotels of this caliber/price point refreshes 2 bottled water every time they clean the room. They don’t do it here at all so I have to constantly ask for it.
Overall feels like a mediocre hotel hardware with with poor service for its price.

The entire staff is unhappy that you are staying at this hotel and will definitely make sure that you know how much they dislike your presence. Topping the bad service with horrible food and a recent remodel that is clearly a faux high end theme will leave you desiring a room at any other nearby hotel.
Do you like sleeping in a dark room? This is not for you! They have very nice dimming lights in the room that at their lowest setting, off, they will continue to produce a dim light for your room that you can sleep with. It was like having 6 night lights above the bed reminding you that you chose the wrong hotel.

Our week long stay at this emaculate hotel was made all the more perfect with the most attentive, cheerful, and warm staff I've ever encountered. The rooms are very well appointed, rooms perfectly straightened out every day, bikes are free to rent, there is an amazing little zen garden with whirpool for unwinding, not to mention The Penthouse with its spectacular views and very tasty food. We are already planning our next visit.

My family of three stayed at The Huntley for four nights and we had an exceptional stay. The hotel's location was convenient to the beach, pier, and Third Street Promenade and we enjoyed eating at the many restaurants within walking distance. Our room was on the 11th floor, overlooking the ocean and mountains, and was quiet and dark. We slept very well in the comfy beds. But what made our stay exceptional by far was the hotel staff. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. Daniel at the front desk was a gem. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could be, and we truly appreciated his commitment to customer service. If we're ever in the area again, we'll be back!

Great hotel, just close enough to the activity at the Pier without being caught up in all of it. Walkable to good restaurants and shops. The hotel itself was very lovely too -- thoughtfully designed rooms and bathrooms, comfy beds, great water pressure, and depending on high up a floor you are in, you will likely be able to get a view of the ocean even if it's not an ocean view room. We didn't use the workout room, but it's nice that it was there. The hot tub is a nice touch since there is no pool, although it was a tad strange you had to walk through the lobby / valet to get to it, when the valet and lobby elevators also serve guests going to the Penthouse hotel who are not staying there and also in bathing suits.

The Huntley was excellent. Ate breakfast in The Penthouse every morning. What a view! Room was completely fine. Clean and comfortable. Staff was kind. Parking ($55 per day, but that's Santa Monica), in and out was handled expeditiously by the staff. Location was very convenient to 3rd Street Promenade, and a short walk to the Pier. Highly recommend!
