This was an excellent choice, thanks to Mr. Patel for his lovely E-mail prior to my 6 night stay re: A nice room upgrade per my American Express benefit. I have stayed at all the 5 star hotels in Santa Monica over many years and this is my new favorite, especially at a lower price than the other 5 stars, mainly because there is no pool . I took Uber everywhere, no need for a car. This hotel served as a good base to explore Sana Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Venice and Marina Del Ray with family and friends (who did have a car for day trip to Malibu) I shopped and went to all the great restaurants. I did some work from my room butthe WIFI was iffy, needed to be refreshed, so go outside already here anyhow. Location: 2 blocks from the beach (which requires a staircase down and cross Pacific Coast highway) . I prefer this quieter more residential location, not on Ocean Avenue. The actual beach beach in Santa Monica is not so great anyhow, (and the 2 or 3 hotels directly on the beach cost nearly double, so if you merely want to be near an ocean and see and feel the ocean, walking a block or two away is nice. The hotel is in the midst of great shops and restaurants and I had no problem getting 10,000 steps a day just walking around and enjoying the neighborhood. I cancelled my reservation at the Fairmont across the street after reading reviews about their noisy popular nightclub keeping guests awake and rebooked here and it was a great choice! Huntley Pros: Room beautifully decorated and remodeled with outstanding partial ocean and city view. Enjoyed the views extending towards hills of Palisades. Best view of actual ocean is from bathroom. Nice closet, two robes and slippers. Nice Bulgari soap amenities in bathroom. Nice towels. Quiet! Very little noise or no from neighbors and no late night noise from the penthouse restaurant as my room was several floors below. Very comfortable bed (what is the mattress, please?) Nice blackout drapes! Wonderful Nespresso Maker in room. Great full length mirror! Clean, quiet mini-fridge upon request and do not move anything in mini bar as it is electronic and will incur a charge. Air conditoning quieter than most hotels. Wonderful orange juice with room service very good simple breakfast of eggs, bacon, fruit and toast. Penthouse Restaurant views are spectacular, menu looks great, but didn't have chance to dine there Blake and Juan Carlos and Mr Patel at front desk worked very hard, long hours with the utmost grace and class and customer service. Blake checked me in with warm hospitality. Juan Caros offered me a wrapped mask (or two) when I needed it for Uber. I was pleased to see them every day. No one works harder than very kind and patient Mr Patel. Met Mario in the elevator and he inquired as to my stay and when I told him it was wonderful he became elated and was a delight. . The basic 2 elevators were working fine during my stay. I advise this hotel not to get a pool and thereby keep the room rates lower. Room service and housekeeping was excellent. To me this is a luxury city hotel in a walkable vibrant city with the ocean very close. Lobby is elegant, comfortable, medium/small and low key vibes. Guests are nice and well dressed casual and didn't appear to be late night party people! Met people from other countries in the elevator and lobby. CONS: There was a slight odd smell by the toilet - Can this be remedied? Some creaky pipes noises throughout walls sometimes but not at night. The glamorous marble shower could get a bit slippery. (Palsti mat available?) The room service chicken dinner needed a vegetable or fruit instead of 2 potatoes. Hint: If you need a very quick crossant or muffin early am, the Exhale Spa door directly across street, has a Dogtown Coffee to-go stand with very small assortment of to-go food and drinks in the lobby. So glad I tried the Huntley and was sad to leave my Santa Monica home. The service and responsiveness to my needs was exceptional and the luxurious home was relaxed and special. No complaints or problems whatsoever, since my requests were handled and accomodated by Mr Patel's graciousness before I checked in.…
The hotel was excellent in almost every way, but the one thing which let it down was that for our room (615) the WIFI would last no more than 60 seconds before dropping out. As travellers you use the internet a lot to find restaurants, things to do or even check your socials, and this one thing just took it from a 5 star experience to a 4 star … although it could be just bad luck in our room. Still highly recommended!
Really enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. Super quiet rooms and great manager of the front desk. The location is super for walking to all the great restaurants in downtown Santa Monica and over to the Promenade. Only piece missing is a pool. Restaurant at the top was a bit snooty (both clientele and staff) and not to my style.
Exceptional stay at the Huntley Hotel. Hosted a bridal shower at the hotel and the Event Director, Mandy Amini, was amazing to work with in planning the event. Mandy's attentiveness to detail and charming personality made the planning of the event fun and effortless. The catering team was professional, helpful and a pleasure to work with as well. Food was delicious! Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I would do it all over again!
The Huntley has a very detail-oriented, attentive event and catering team. Their group rates were gracious for their level of service. We came to the Huntley looking to indulge our employees after two long years of virtual Zoom meetings, and the Huntley was perfect for it. The banquet event team was ready for any questions, which gave our ops team a well needed break. They were able to fix the "buzz" from the speakers, a unique request from an attendee. Catering was on time and well coordinated. The event planning coordinator was happy to hold our hand in the months leading up to the event, with email or phone responses within hours consistently. Concierge and front desk were also very attentive and responsive to the needs of our group. Excellent and outstanding, our teammates will remember this event for a long while to come!…
Very much enjoyed this hotel! Lovely Bvlgari bathroom amenities and a comfortable bed. Great minibar selection of sweets and drinks and had a great view from my room of the beautiful palm tree lined skyline. Elevators were a bit of a challenge at times and the gym was small but the beach was just a couple blocks away with restaurants and bars all within walking distance so didn’t spend too much time in the hotel.
Words can not express the outstanding customer service received from these three ladies, Mandy Amini, Diane Nomura and Erin McGarry. They were the best to deal with for handling my teams stay at the hotel to making sure the conference room was to our standards while guiding with their knowledge on food choices. They upgraded my entire block to ocean view Premier rooms! What a great surprise! The rooms were clean, beautiful property. This was our first visit and we will definitely be booking here again. I highly recommend Huntley Hotel.
We were in and around S. California for 4 days. From Santa Barbara to West Hollywood, West Hollywood to Laguna Beach, and then back to Santa Monica before leaving town. If you love Santa Monica or haven't seen it, this hotel is perfectly positioned to walk around. The decor is simple contemporary and have a vibrant feel to thigs. An experience you would expect from Los Angeles. Of all four nights, our evening here was the most affordable of the four. After watching the sunset, walking the pier and 3rd street promenade, we came back to the hotel and headed up to their PENTHOUSE Restaurant/Lounge on the top floor. Marissa and Peter @ the PENTHOUSE RESTAURNANT made our last night great. Marissa has a tough job being the Director of First Impressions and controlling the experience upstairs. But she was incredible to work with, was open, professional, and understanding in making our time great. Peter was an inspiration once we got a table and we had the best conversation. Amazing personality and We wish nothing but the best to both of them. We have stayed here before, and the rooms and overall hotel are great. Lastly, Magno and Akemi made it easy to help us after forgetting something at the hotel. The whole experience was great. Thanks to everyone mentioned!!!…
It’s a good hotel in a good location. Friendly staff. Rooms are clean and very nice, with good nespresso machines and nice bathroom toiletries. All good. However, if you want a pool or some outside space might be worth researching other hotels. The Wi-Fi was a bit temperamental too. However a good hotel and good staff.
Beautiful property and location. I experienced excellent service from staff and management was very helpful. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommended the hotel for its rooms and meeting space.
