In contrary to the previous review the woman behind the desk was extremely friendly & extremely helpful during our stay 14th -16th November, rooms are nice modern with a good selection of tv channels and on the the plus side a decent fridge. Yes there was the odd ant but didn't cause any problems, bed was comfortable and a good... More

Check in was quick however the women was incredibly unfriendly. It is a motel style with doors on the outside and no lift. The door didn't lock properly which worried us, but we propped our cases against it when we were inside at night. Now for the real review. The room seemed OK on first glance. However, the VERY thin... More

The hotel is really conveniently located: 2 minutes through beautiful garden to Santa Monica beach and pier. 15 minutes walk to shopping center, Starbucks is in 5 minutes and a coffee shop in the next building. The room seemed to be renovated not long ago and is quite spacious for a small hotel like this. I guess it is a... More

This is a tricky one. I liked it, but my wife would not. I thought I'd try a more authentic experience rather than the normal hotel room, so I got what I paid for. So, the bed was very comfortable, and good tv channels. The kitchen is very basic, but I didn't want that anyway. The bathroom is very basic,... More

Start out by saying I wanted to like this property. It's ten seconds from the beach. 3 minutes walk from the pier. And affordable. So for what it is its fine. However. There is a lot of mold in the room I stayed, it could smell it despite attempts to disguise this with fragrances. My allergies tend to flare up... More

Everything you read in the reviews is true: stellar location, budget-friendly prices, 'okay' rooms, limited parking, etc. But here's the thing: the beach is feet away from this place; the Pier is a few blocks = you don't need luxury accommodations. You need a cheap place to sleep because the rest of the time you will be (hopefully) on the... More

Close to everything, you can walk almost anywhere from here- even Venice, friendly staff, a stone's throw from the beach. Still not all too spendy with how nice the rooms are. I would definitely recommend to friends or family.

I arrived very early in LA and was able to leave my luggage there till check in which they made happen for 12 o'clock. The hotel is small but has free parking and is in a great location. They have a lovely deck to watch the squirrels in the nearby trees and enjoy the sunshine and a drink. The hotel... More

We arrived very early in LA and were able to leave our luggage there till check in which was 1.00pm. We were given the room right next to the office which was very close to all the incoming guest traffic and running of the hotel. The walls were paper thin and we heard everything. Next morning Rosa who seemed to... More

[Long review to follow. If you just want the short one it's that the Seaview Hotel is amazingly well located, cheap and sufficiently comfortable. I will be staying there again and would happily recommend it to others.] We stayed at the Seaview Hotel on our honeymoon a couple of years ago and, despite some issue, were happy enough. The room... Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
