We weren't able to make this work for a longer trip - a little too much fun for this older mom- but the location was quite central and the rooms were clean. Warning - Everything is pricey there. The owners were very nice about refunding us

The Ocean Lodge Hotel is the perfect beach hotel. Across from the Santa Monica pier, and short walking distances from 3rd Street, and many great restaurants. The staff to the owners are all very accommodating. They answered all of my questions about the area. I couldn't be more pleased. My rooms was fantastic with comfortable beds, clean bathroom.

The hotel is well located and the service was good. there is no pool although the hotel is just across from the beach. Also, there are no food services but, the area is filled with good restaurants. This is a good choice and value for the Santa Monica area.

Nice clean rooms, friendly staff with good recommendations, close to beach, closed door between beds was nice for the kids. But.. we made a reservation for a crib, only after we checked in they told us they didn't have one. Our room wasn't cleaned one morning. Parking! We paid extra for a on-site parking space. One night someone else was...

Nice hotel, everything clean in the rooms. Parking cost 22 $ (or 17$ in the next parking place just in the next ground). To walk trough Santa Monica Pear 2 minutes, but many people lives on the streets right there. Girls may don't walk alone there in the night...

Ok, so this place is super handy. You are close to the pier, 3rd Street and plenty of restaurants. However, it is terribly noisy, right on Ocean Avenue and right next to Chez Jay (which may be a good thing for some). Rooms are basic to very basic. Expect nothing other than a bed to sleep. Well, maybe not to...

Recently stayed at the ocean Lodge for 9 days. it was a repeat visit. I had stayed for a few days last year at the same time. I actually had the same room. The is a old style motor lodge but it has been remodeled inside. I find the location wonderful if staying in Santa Monica. Perfect location close to...

We booked 2 nights at the Ocean Lodge Hotel and on the date of our arrival were informed that they were canceling our booking because we planned to arrive after 10 pm. Even though we had already paid for the room and were on our way there for the weekend, the woman told me they were canceling it so someone...

Although the location is great, we didn't sleep a wink. We were in room 107 basically on the road. The doors are only thin (basically internal doors) and the walls paper thin. We were constantly woken by traffic and people screaming on the street, the people above us walking around and flushing their toilet, with the floor creaking and the...

The location is great. The room is tiny and basic, but expensive. Is really a motel. Stairs only to second floor. We got the two bedroom and basically was just enough room for the beds. Felt claustrophobic. Limited parking, very tight and charge $22 a night. No amenities. Only a bed, tv and small fridge.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
