This hostel is in a great location in Santa Monica. The 3rd Street shopping area and Santa Monica Mall are both very close by too. The rooms are spacious, beds are basic but comfortable, kitchen is well furnished and kitted out and the free breakfast is very good! The showers aren't amazing but server a purpose and only really need... More

This place has it all except for management. In my 2 weeks here I've had numerous issues with rudeness and incompetence of staff members (some not all) and a total lack of order and trouble with a chaotic booking system. On top of that thieves are allowed to walk around the hostel, posing as guests who clearly aren't. They sleep... More

I booked this hostel as a spot to hang out during a long layover in LA. I was a bit concerned in reading the reviews but immediately discovered that either they've made improvements or it's a matter of perspective! Check in was a breeze and the front desk was really friendly. The beds in the 8 bed dorm room were... More

Our stay at this hostel has mixed reviews. We were looking for cheap accommodation for our 24hr stay in LA that allowed us to do some exploration. The hostel is in a great location in Downtown Santa Monica and its closed to a lot of bars and restaurants which was great. The atmosphere was also good with a lot of... More

First off, beautiful Hostel and it is close to the beach. Breakfast is ok. But the crowd is a fun international mix. Great activities to meet and mingle while you relax in Santa Monica at a price that's worth the deal. One of my favorite hostels because of its location.

I have stayed here for almost 20 years. I've also stayed at other hostels which are just as good such as the one in Vancouver, BC. The breakfasts used to be better. There is not much food value in the current breakfast; it's all processed refined carbs. They used to serve hardboiled eggs and yogurt and cereal and orange juice were... More

I had the time of my life in this hostel. I even cancelled my trip to Yosemite just to stay few more days in the hostel and Santa Monica in general. Rooms are so clean, staff is very friendly and you can interact with the guests whenever. I do recommend it to anyone wants to come to SM and you... More

This hostel was great. It was relatively modern and clean. The staff were so-so. Some were friendly and some were a little stand offish. But the location is on point. It was about a three minute walk to the Pier :) Just a forewarning: check in is STRICTLY after 2pm. You can store your luggage there, but don't expect a... More

Overall this hostel was pretty good. I stayed at this hostel for about a week. I needed to extend my stay therefore I moved from a 10 bed room to a four bed room. Honestly, if you plan on staying here I suggest getting the 10 bed room. The 4 bed room are super small and can get really stuffy.... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
