Amazing resort. The restaurant (The View) staff is super friendly, loved the hostess. She did an amazing job since the moment we step in. Her menu recommendations were a HIT! Music was perfect. The pool are was beautiful, clean and well organized z and the fire pit was perfect on the cold nights we had to embraced. The front desk staff, was super friendly and helpful. Atlantis made my check out pleasant, fast and clarified all my questions. Can’t wait to come back!!!

Heidi, the Spa Supervisor, and her team are fabulous hosts! They made me feel like a celebrity being pampered on my birthday, with complimentary champagne service in the hot tub! The back patio is so tranquil and inviting, with the trickling pond and even a resident turtle, all after having a fabulous massage!

You so want this to be an upscale luxury resort amidst the redwoods and rainforests of Santa Cruz. But it’s not. In fact, it’s an old Catholic school that has been reimagined where tiny dorms with tasteless decor pass as hotel rooms billed at over $250/night. The bathrooms are so tiny, they have pocket doors. No closet. No desk. No sofa.No chair. No room for much of anything. And no room service unless you call and ask (sometimes multiple times). Some rooms do have nice patios or balconies that look out at the woods, but others just have windows, inviting you to imagine yourself the prisoner of some nonsensical belief system nearly a century ago. If you’re okay with a small outdated room with few to no luxuries, you won’t be okay with the poorly operated restaurant. The View is notorious for its god awful service. Don’t let the pleasant dining room or beautiful patio fool you. There will be an incompetent hostess, evasive bartenders, and even though your waiter may be friendly, the food will take years to emerge from the kitchen as if the entire cooking staff is on Facebook, stopping only occasionally to toss a dish together. It took so long for our food to arrive on a night when the place was only about 40% full, that our uninspiring Burrata salad was comped and we were given a free desert. (It was by far the smallest amount of burrata ever to be plated.) Whoever manages this place (probably a friend or relative) should seriously find another line of work, as restaurant management has proven over a number of years to simply not be a skill - or even worthy of hobby status. Chaminade has some nice hiking trails through unkempt woods and meadows. And a nice pool area with a small hot tub. For $150 they’ll light a fire for you and give you about $20 with of Graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows to make ‘smores. Let’s hope that someone with vision, operation’s experience and financial backing buys this place and completely renovates it. It’s a huge opportunity for the right investor as the current owners seem content with the mediocrity currently at play. If you can afford it, stay at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. Now that’s an experience worthy of your time and money!…

My husband and I had massages at the spa and it was a wonderful experience. It was so delightful to return after the pandemic 😉 Our massage therapists were Sherri and Sharon, and they both did an amazing job of putting us at ease and providing a memorable and very relaxing massage session. The outdoor hot tub was perfect on a cool, foggy day with just the right temperature. The locker room provided everything you need, all I brought was my own hairbrush and our swim suits. The medidation room in the spa is quiet and very calming. It's a wonderful way to spend a day celebrating you!

My husband and I celebrated our 27th Wedding Anniversary with a weekend at Chaminade Resort & Spa. We had a very enjoyable and peaceful time. I booked the Simply Zen Massage and had the best massage I have ever experienced in my life. A sincere thank you to ‘Kelly’ my massage therapist who has just the right touch for a very soothing and very relaxing massage. We will definitely come back to Chaminade.

We went on a girls trip for my 40th and had a great time. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. Our room was nice and big and everything worked properly. We got massages at the SPA a loved them. We also ate at the restaurant twice and enjoyed he ambiance and live music. Food was great as well. The only thing that needs improvement is the walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbors fighting and on the other side we could hear a guy on FaceTime with his family. We could understand every single word. No privacy at all.
