On short notice we decided to make a trip to Santa Cruz, to celebrate our wedding anniversary 🍾 and at the same time flee the heat from the Auburn (CA) valley area 🥵 We were able to book a room with a king size bed. We arrived quite early (before check-in time) and went to the reception desk to ask if in the meantime we could park our car on the premises. The manager was super helpful and checked if a room was cleaned and available already. We were in luck, a room on the 2-nd floor (top). Great! Not only could we park the car, but get our stuff to the room and start making Santa Cruz unsafe 😋 Great stroll in downtown, had (a seafood) dinner on the pier. A very comfortable bed in a larger than expected room. That the interior was a bit dark doesn’t matter when you are asleep... (but honestly, it could use a bit more color!). The breakfast was rather good and the staff very attentative in keeping the food coming. A few other comments though: the (very) low toilet is a real challenge for tall(er) people... the lower back wall behind the toilet may need some attention! Regardless, a very good place to stay!

I am on my USA Tour , And Landed The Place Which Have Climate As Winter Of Asia Throughout the year . One Of my friend suggest this motel . On 12TH Aug. Morning in the lobby of this well located motel and having feeling like a state of art restaurant and enjoying complimentary continental breakfast . Suddenly one couple started quarrelling with the well behaved and attentive staff . As one of the staff member advise to have breakfast at the lobby , as the men and women were grabbing food like a bagger HOMELESS . And concern of the staff was to protect the newly furnished carpet from food particle and slippage of juice as it was carry like not seen such food in a life. According to me carpet in the rooms are new .and concern of the staff was reasonable .On this men named Phillip may be boy friend of The lady named Tina started abusing the staff with the word start with F and with king and threaten to ruin the business by publishing very ugly review and raising payment dispute even after enjoying stay for 2 nights and breakfast. This is only worst experience not for the property but shameless and uncultured rudest human being in the world and ever seen by my me and my family members. my family enjoyed our stay . the staff is well behaved , rooms are well equipped . Every day rooms are being deep clean by train staff . We can smell the famous Beach Boardwalk from our room too. Seven Star in all aspect.

If I could give a ZERO I would. NEVER.IN.MY.F-ING.LIFE!! In my 40 years of life and of all the hotels we’ve stayed in have I or my family ever been treated like this!!! Comfort Inn Santa Cruz is by far the WORST experience I have ever had! So we picked this place for their location to the Boardwalk (within walking distance) and the fact that they do free breakfast which is convenient for a family with children like ours. Yesterday morning my husband and I got up, got dressed and went to get breakfast to bring up to the kiddos so we didn’t have to get them all ready. They could eat in their pj’s and take their time...sounds reasonable, right? Like something people do all the time? Well as I had 4 cups of juice in my hands to take up, the manager comes out and stops me. Saying I am not allowed to take food to our room; at the same time there is a lady walking out with two plates of waffles with butter and covered in syrup. He says my children will spill and ruin his carpet. So I sit and eat my food at one of his tables. My husband goes up to check on the kids and comes back down. He then takes a couple of coffee cups and pours the juice in and puts a lid on and takes them to the room for the kids. I mean never have I ever had someone at any hotel tells us we can’t bring food to our room. In the mean time I’m trying to finish my food and the “manager” the same man, finished his phone call and starts yelling at me because he saw my husband take the cups to the room. Said he would have his house cleaners tell him if we had food in our room! I looked at him and said “ok” and continued to eat. He continued to harass me as I finished eating. I then stopped making eye contact and stopped engaging with him. Even so he continued until I left. Not only was his target of our family unethical, and ridiculous...because hello there is a soda vending machine in the hallway, a microwave and a fridge in the room! So he absolutely singled us out for having children! This beyond pissed my husband off so he Yelped a not so nice review of his harassment of us. We then left for the entire day to the Boardwalk. We returned at 10:45pm to our room keys NOT WORKING. 😡 This POS locked us out of our PAID hotel room with all of our belongs in the room still! My husband thinking oh something happened to our keys, I said NO! I bet you this guy did it on purpose! He goes to the front desk to ask for new keys and this F-ING GUY SAYS ARE YOU “Mr. Phillip?” My husband says yes. He says “You wrote the Yelp review? That’s why you can’t get in.” WHAT IN THE HOLY HELL IS THAT?!! My husband says yes and let the man have it. He says he has the right to kick us out. So my husband says do it then and give me back our money. He gives him another key and my husband comes back up and AGAIN IT DOESNT WORK. This guy was playing games when we’re already pissed. My husband goes back down and tells him what’s the deal? Are you kicking us out or what? Stop playing games. He throws my husband another key and says “you tell me”. He comes back up and the key works. 😡🤬😡🤬 In the mean time my children and I are standing in the hallway crying thinking we are locked out without all of our belongings. Oh and to top it all off he threatens us with a $100 charge for the bad review!! If it hadn’t been 11pm at night with small children we would have demanded our money back. DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN YOUR MONEY. He nothing about customer service or respect.

This hotel was within walking distance to the beach and Boardwalk. The manager was very attentive to his customers needs. If you needed something or there was a problem he would resolve it right away. It was also within walking distance to shopping and restaurants which made it convenient to not have to worry about parking. We felt safe walking around the town during the day. The hotel was as expected for a Comfort Inn and again you can walk to everything. The hotel room was clean and the property was well kept. The free breakfast was average but met our needs. The pool is very small but again you have the beach a couple blocks away. We would definitely stay here again!
