We were looking for a weekend getaway with our toddler, and had a wonderful time. Pete & Maria were charming hosts, and our room had that quaint Santa Cruz Victorian charm (without sacrificing cleanliness), plus a few USB outlets. We took the Lighthouse room, and the queen & king bed arrangement allowed us to put our daughter to bed safely and hang out downstairs. Breakfast was delicious and fully prepared us for a busy day poking at the sand with sticks and chasing seagulls. Hoping for a chance to stay here again once the boardwalk opens.

Ohhh my goodness! Did I luck out or what? OK, full disclosure, I have stayed multiple times in Santa Cruz and after my last visit, about 2 or 3 years ago, I promised myself I would be reading the reviews first! Okay... I read up on Boca Del Cielo, and I was impressed with the reviews. It was to be a single stay for me, a few days to blow off some steam and relax with zero family with me..at the last minute my wife said I had to take the dog and my daughter. I had no issues with that. the issue I had, was I had no idea if they would take pets...boy o boy, was I wrong! They not only took my little Kenjinator, they showed so much love on his little doggy heart! He was in Doggy Cruz Heaven... The rooms were quite small, and very homey, the amenities were wonderful! The daily morning breakfast WAS OUTSTANDING!!!!! Hot, fresh eggs, freshly cut potatoes, diced and seasoned. Awesome yogurt and fresh fruit. FRESH coffee, with various sweeteners. They had around 10 tables scattered around outside on patios. There was large wooden front table, I worked on my my computer with free wifi. I loved the bird, and the two cute doggies. Kenji, my dog loved them too. Peter and Maria, Jonas and Isabella, were awesome hosts/ests. They made us feel special. Peter collects flags from every country that visits, and of course Philippines and USA were shown, and Mexico was #1. I met a few folks at the breakfast table and they were wonderful guests. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this wonderful establishment. Don't expect the Ritz, expect the Taj Mahal!!! The accommodations and hospitality will make you feel like a King and Queen....

These are the nicest people in the world! If you're looking for a sterile, crisp room with generic décor, don't bother. Staying here is like staying at your grandma's house. And, they take care of you just like grandma would too. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Breakfast was incredible...home made tortillas! The best! It was short walking distance to the boardwalk and the wharf.

This B&B is very charming and eclectic. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and great to talk about the area. The homemade breakfast was delicious, eggs, veggies, chorizo and incredible homemade tortillas. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and stocked with what we needed. The location very good, the beach, lighthouse path and boardwalk are all within walking distance. The house pet is also a fun part of the stay.

I recently had a chance to revisit Santa Cruz, the city of my youth (where I learned to surf a half century ago!), and was fortunate enough to stay, with my beloved bloodhound Kyno, at this very charming and welcoming B&B. The rooms were tastefully furnished. But even more tasteful was the breakfast, which included homemade tortillas and a scrumptious omelette, with or without meats. The owners were attentive to all our needs, including those not expressed. I would gladly recommend this reasonably priced and enjoyable B&B to anyone visiting Santa Cruz. It's a short walk to both the famous Boardwalk, where I worked as a teen operating "The Derby" booth, and Steamer Lane, one of the premier surf spots on the California coast, especially during big swells.

Staying at Boca del Cielo is like staying at family's. It's friendly and cozy, the food is good, and the décor is eclectic. The room was small but enough space, everything clean. Breakfast of eggs and chorizo with homemade tortillas and salsa, along with fresh fruit was absolutely fabulous. They started serving a half hour earlier than usual to accommodate us which was appreciated. Tico the parrot was a hoot :) Parking was no problem at all with the permit, and it was located close enough to the boardwalk to be convenient and far enough to not have noise to be (too much) of a problem. The wifi didn't work too well in the room but fine in the dining room and the porch.

Room Tip: we had a room in the cottage in the book which was just fine. Each cottage had its own outside...

This B and B is a jewel. The owners are so friendly and you cant beat a yummy breakfast which is included (homemade tortillas YUM!) It's a block away from the Boardwalk and a cute bowling alley. I went with 2 teenage girls and although the place is a little small we had a great time . We were out all day anyway so it did not matter. I really cant say enough about the owners and all the fellow guest were very friendly too

So sweet. Great authentic homemade breakfast. Lovely family. The rooms were well-appointed and the beds very comfortable. Really enjoyed being able to walk downtown to the amusement park. We were just a few blocks away yet it was very peaceful and quiet there.
