Very nice room. The bed was extremely comfortable, the amenities were top-tier. The staff were terrific, including Rainbow our bartender and the chef who came out to describe vegan options with my wife.

We booked a room at the Hotel Paradox specifically because there wasn't a pet fee listed on the reservation page. After checking out we received a bill charging a $75 fee for our dog. When I called to dispute this, the hotel manager said that "the fee was in the contract" (unknown to us). Very disappointing. Not listing charges up front is bad business, plain and simple. Had I known this before booking we would have stayed at another hotel.

Had a list minute trip and was pleased we stayed here. Check-in was efficient. Lots of parking available. The hotel was converted to an Autograph Collection and they did a good job. Outdoor corridors are a negative but still felt safe. Rooms were clean and bathroom was efficient. Pool area was crowded Friday evening and Saturday morning. EV chargers are available. Lots of signs regarding masks and keeping elevators to two people.

We used to love to come to this place. But since pendemic they seem to have caught a lot of their expenses. Which are almost all OK. Expect that their rooms are not clean. The first room we got had a very heavy smoke smell. They were nice moving us to a second room but this one was very dirty. Hate to say it but this is the last time we will come back here. Such a shame, we used to love the place.

Updated rooms are very nicely done with wood floors. Didn't really notice any noise from the room above. Unfortunately had a room with a connecting door (did not know the guests in the next room) which made for lots of noise from the children & dog in that room. Hand sanitizer was available in multiple places. I observed the door handles from the security gates being cleaned frequently. There are security gates to get to where the rooms are due to the large amount of homeless encampments in the park next door. Easy walk to the downtown area for dining. Also a coffee place & a diner (great food) within 2 blocks of hotel. Hotel staff was always pleasant, gave great advice about where to hike in the redwoods. No coffee maker in the rooms, coffee is available at the front desk. Except for the morning they ran out. Overall it was a nice hotel. The worst issue was the homeless encampments which the hotel had no control over.
