From the outside it doesn't look like much but the rooms were upgraded and very clean and I loved that they had no carpet. Also a view of the boardwalk over the Lorenzo river. I didn't hear other tenants. Was nervous when I got there but once I got to my room I was pleasantly surprised.

The whole property including the rooms are filthy and in disrepair. The bedsheet had blood stains (I hope they were stains), the coffee maker didn’t work, it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and I was afraid to leave my car parked there. There was less than half of a roll of toilet paper and no extra provided. When I called to request more, the manager said I had to come to the office to get it myself. When I went down to the office, the manager wouldn’t answer the buzzer. After a long time, several other people were waiting too and one of them called the phone number on the office door (the office is locked and the only way to get someone is to use the buzzer and then they talk to you through a tiny window) and the manager finally came out. He said the buzzer was broken. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this was the worst one I have ever experienced. I can’t believe it has stayed open. Seriously bad, you have been warned.

Smelly room, rude staff and overpaying hostel. If you want to wake up to loud sounds in the middle of the night , book this adventure. I wish to give 0 or negative but can’t unfortunately. It’s better to camp outside and sleep in peace rather than book this hell hotel.

Everything about this location was horrendous!!!👎👎 The property was filthy, smelled like smoke all over especially the non smoking room! Why would a they put smoking rooms next to a non smoking room? The entire facility smelled of smgoke from the outside to the inside. Even before you walked in it the room. Called management and they were useless and rude!. The whole area was Filthy dirty. The room looked horrible and nothing like the pictures they posted in the website. Way over charges for a crappy room that was more like a motel 6. The towels even stunk like it was filled with mildew! We were so displease with this place and we give it an F- and way below it for safety, customer service, price, cleanliness and experience. The most disgusting place we’ve ever stayed at. This place deserves double negative star (double negative unhappy face), two thumbs down!👎👎 the pictures they posted in the website. Innkeeper Jay is tremendously friendly and accommodating. This is a no frills, budget hotel. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean & quiet it was, considering our room was right off E. Cliff Drive during the Wharf-to-Wharf race. It would have been nice to have a sheer curtain underneath the blackout curtain to be able to enjoy more of the view (and added light). As it was, the room was very dark (not very good lighting) when the blackout curtain was closed. We'd stay here again.

I stayed here one night after visiting my son at UCSC. The bed was comfortable, the balcony was a nice addition, the view was pleasant of the boardwalk.. the lady at the counter was nice. That’s about it. Very thin walls! Next door had a loud party until about 3am. Then I could hear someone snoring loudly. The tv volume didn’t work from the remote and the guide on the tv was in Spanish. The bathtubs paint is chipping and peeling off. I literally had to pull chips off the tub before getting in. This was bothersome for me as I enjoy taking baths before bed. No idea if there was a ice machine anywhere.

Stayed one night November 3rd, and would not recommend this hotel. Room was dirty, stains on the bedspread, tv did not work, I had to plug in the cable box and program the TV to receive on the HDMI port. Extremely noisy room right on a very busy street, plus since it was a weekend, we had traffic noise until very early in the morning. No checkout instructions, and no one in the office when we left, office door was locked.

The owner is a LAIR and has TERRIBlE customer service! You're better off sleeping ANYWHERE else, and I do mean anywhere, other than here! I've never encountered a person who worked in the customer service industry who was such a disrespectful liar. AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Plus the facility isn't well maintained. It smells like an old persons house and mold! I ended up staying at the Best Western and it was amazing!

We had been driving all night and needed a place to stay. The hotel advertised views of the boardwalk or mountains. All we got was a view of the loud apartment complex next door. The hotel itself was a dump. Terrible customer service, a dated scary looking elevator and uncleaned toothpaste on the wall. We stayed with our two month old and I was disgusted, I put a blanket down for him to sleep. The location is sketchy too. If all you’re going to do is sleep and don’t mind feeling gross, go for it.
