Charming hotel and such a relief to find a wonderful place in the Santa Cruz area that is reasonable for families! We stayed in the fall and had a delicious dinner at the restaurant after a day exploring Santa Cruz. I love private, small inns like this and was so impressed by the immaculately maintained grounds and friendly service. I hope to return soon!

Nicely updated. Good restaurant on site. It's better than it looks from outside (looks like an old motel). Staff was good. Had a king suite with nice sitting area and kitchenette. Didn't use the pool, wished there was a hot tub.

Spent 1 night after visiting the S.C. Boardwalk with my son and 15 yr. old grandson. It was a relief to drive the 8 miles to the Inn (1st exit north on Hwy. 17), above the fog and crowded S.C. city! Our room was excellent…single level with parking in front, comfy beds/bedding, and other upgraded touches. After a busy day, we were thrilled at how quiet and peaceful it was too! Staff were very helpful and friendly, willing to make accommodations, if possible. Our dinner was outstanding, & very generous. We had to re-think our dinner order after the delicious and filling pulled pork potato boat appetizer! We chose the calamari appetizer, and ½ rack of pork ribs…both absolutely delicious! (the pork was so tender, it fell off the bone!) Our only disappointment was that we couldn’t try other items…or dessert! But definitely, we’ll be back!!

The Inn at Pasatiempo is about the third iteration of dining and accomodations at this very old golf course next to highway 17 near Santa Cruz. They have done a good job upgrading the facility, but the best word to describe the rooms is "Quaint". Service was good and staff were attentive. The coffee in the lobby was "the best" my wife had ever had at a motel/hotel (and she is a first-rate coffee aficionado). Would stay here again.

The inn is beautiful if somewhat rustic which only adds to its charm. Every staff member from the front desk to the housekeeping staff where very friendly. We couldn't have asked for nicer people. The room itself was spacious, very clean and had all the amenities including a microwave. The mattress was comfortable and we both slept well. Another giant plus was the water pressure. It was awesome and actually better than we have at home. The coffee and pastries in the morning started our day off just fine. The price was right for us as well. Inn at Pasatiempo is going to be our "go to" when we return.

We attended a 50+1 high school reunion. This was an excellent facility for our group of about 50 people (and large enough for double that number). The separate dining/meeting room was ideal and the food and beverage service was excellent. The room we had was comfortable, spacious, well-lighted, and clean. The beds and pillows were firm and comfortable. We liked that we could control the room air conditioning/heating unit and fan from a wall mounted thermostat! The bathroom and shower appear to have been recently updated and were clean, attractive, and user-friendly. We had requested a quiet room and were very pleased with the room we were assigned. Because of extenuating circumstances we needed to make multiple calls to the reservations desk. Newton was always very friendly and accommodating. And she even recognized my wife's voice when we arrived and greeted us warmly! We walked on the bluff above the coast in Santa Cruz the next day and enjoyed lunch on the wharf. We enjoyed our stay!

We bought a package on Travelzoo, partly based on some of the reviews here. Don't waste your money! The "deluxe" rooms are sparsely furnished (a bed, small table, 2 table chairs and a television - no lounge chairs, no sofa or loveseat, no chest of drawers), and have a small window looking out to the parking lot. The motel is right on a very busy freeway and it's quite noisy. It looks like they went bankrupt in the middle of a remodel, and couldn't afford to buy furniture. Don't be fooled by the pictures of the suites. We asked how much to upgrade to a suite and were given three different prices by the staff. The staff also charged the full price of the package twice! Lastly, though we were told that the pool was heated to 80 degrees, when we got there, a staff person told us that they turn it down in the winter. It was definitely way too cold for swimming.

The Inn was quiet and peaceful. it's right off highway 17. Was able to park my car right outside my front door. ( the 300 building is the "quiet" building for those looking for peace.) The room (king size bed) had fridge, microwave, and regular style coffee maker, so you can bring all your snacks/coffee. 10 minute drive to the boardwalk and wharf for food and shopping. Restaurant on site was good too. ALL of the staff were sweet and kind! If you want a nice place for a California staycation away from the typical noise and traffic.... this is a great spot.

Damaliah, Thank you so much for staying at Inn at Pasatiempo and taking the time to review your visit. I am delighted to read you enjoyed your stay here with us! You are right, we really are quite fantastic! (-: Silliness aside, Inn at Pasatiempo is committed to providing each of our valued guests with clean, comfortable, well appointed rooms and nice extras like complimentary internet and parking, pastries and coffee each morning in our lobby, a heated outdoor pool and an onsite bar and restaurant. Our staff provides high level customer service and I feel their warmth and genuine engagement with our guests creates a memorable, unique experience for our visitors. Our location is also ideal. We are only five miles from the beach/boardwalk area but a million miles away from the traffic, noise and just the general mayhem of the high tourist saturation area. We encourage our guests to enjoy a day in the mayhem and return to our peaceful, flower filled oasis to unwind at days end. Our heated pool provides another great spot to unwind and can be a sunny spot to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind with an afternoon cocktail from the restaurant. Thanks again for your kind words! We can't wait to welcome you back for another visit soon! Warmly, Naomi, Inn at Pasatiempo

My partner and I had a lovely experience! The vaulted ceilings made the room feel really spacious. We had stayed here many years ago, and since then the rooms have been completely remodeled. We were really shocked by outstanding customer service. The front desk representatives were very friendly and helpful in suggesting local activities and restaurants. We were shocked to learn that we received a discount for being returning guests. Overall, this was an excellent stay and we will absolutely be returning.

Our priority is guest satisfaction and I will pass on your kind words to our staff. I was in Santa Cruz for surfer's ear surgery with Dr Hetzler. His preop material mentioned that the Inn at Pasatiempo was close to his office and the surgery center. When I called to book the room, Barbara the manager helped me to arrange dependable and trustworthy transportation to and from the surgery center on the morning of the procedure. This is an important detail as the surgery center will not allow rideshare drivers to pick up discharged patients. I was fortunate to have been assigned a room with great natural light and breezes. Barbara, Alex, Lindsay and the restaurant staff were great. Lindsay recommended a good Thai restaurant and when I went to the on-premise restaurant the evening of my recovery they were clearly on the radar of locals in the area. The two craft beers on tap I tried were both delicious, as was the fresh calamari and a molten brownie cake to go. The Inn at Pasatiempo is very conveniently located to Santa Cruz while giving guests the feeling of being secluded next to the woods. It was a great spot for my my time in the area. Thanks to the staff for their kindness and gracious support.
