The location is great! Walking distance to everything, downtown shops and restaurants as well as the boardwalk. The walls seemed a little thin but it's worth the location. Staff was friendly , and we love the city of Santa Cruz.
We stayed here in July 2012 and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very close to the beach and the boardwalk and is a clean, nice place to sleep. The breakfast was decent too. We were somewhat disappointed with Santa Cruz, as after doing the...More

Based on my own experience---I traveled a lot with three kids, each two years apart---it depends on the age of the children. If they're still relatively small, like preschool, I doubt if three kids sharing a single bed would be a problem. What hotels don't like is when guests try to sneak in more adults and teens than there are beds to a room. It's a violation of the fire code, which hotels are on the hook for if the guests are caught. That said, the Ocean Pacific Lodge is a family-run hotel; I'd talk to the manager if you have any doubts. Chances are they'll be flexible, but for older children they may insist you rent an extra folding bed.
