NUMBER OF ROOMS
Pros: - Large, clean rooms. - Large closet with lots of hangers! - The bedding is comfortable. - Two luggage stands are provided (a rarity). - Proprietors are warm and welcoming, not intrusive, but helpful in answering questions and providing advice on area attractions. - A modest continental breakfast is included with abundant fresh fruit and bakery items. - A safe is installed in the closet. - There is plenty of drawer space. - Upper floor has cathedral ceilings which make the large room seem even more spacious. - There is good water pressure. - We noticed no noise from other guest rooms. - Free parking. I chose this hotel because it was close to an event that I was attending. I had no idea it would be so nice. The price was reasonable so I wasn't expecting much. The gentlemen that checked us in was very pleasant and friendly and when he said I was eligible for a free upgrade to a suite I jumped at the chance. What a nice place! It's too bad we were only staying for a night and leaving early the next morning because this would have been a great place for an extended stay. It had a refrigerator and a nice kitchen set up. We walked to a great Italian restaurant across the street and there was a mall close by with a liquor store where we got some wine. It's conveniently located, quiet and clean. I would stay here again and agree that it deserves even more stars.
We have stayed here twice, and really enjoyed our stays. The location is very convenient-close to the harbor and several great beaches. Easy drive to downtown and Capitola. Unusually good breakfast. Very pleasant owner and staff. Good wi-fi.
The last time we visited the Santa Cruz area (in June) we had reservations in Boulder Creek. That rental was such a nightmare that we didn’t even stay one night. We had a completely different experience in October at Bella Notte. PROS 1. Except for loads of flowers in planter boxes and pots, Bella Notte looks like an ordinary motel on the outside. Don’t be fooled though–this facility is something special. We stayed in Room 8, and we couldn’t have been happier. Our room was large, clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. 2. Room 8 had a desk for the laptop, a large closet with plenty of hangers, several sets of drawers, a large comfortable lounging chair, and a mini-refrigerator stocked with two bottles of water. We couldn’t hear any noise from the street. 3. The…
Bella Notte is a good choice for a safe stop in Santa Cruz. It is by Twin Lakes, walkable to the beach. Busy street but rooms are well insulated. Some good restaurants close by including one of my favorites, Lago de Como. Also Johnny's on the harbor and if you must get some action or food while looking at the harbor and ocean, Crow's Nest. BN has friendly staff, clean rooms, and a continental breakfast. Moderately priced.
