This is a GR8 place as a base to see the area or host an event and many improvements have been made since my last retreat 2 years ago. The showers and rooms are clean, grounds are tranquil, food is fabulous, and the brothers are welcoming and not pushy about religion. It's also a good base for tourists to explore...

Came to see a labyrinth they have on the grounds and found the whole area to be very peaceful and serene. Nice area to walk around. Pretty gardens. Very quiet. Lots of statues and benches place privately in different areas of the gardens so that one may reflect and meditate.

We stayed only 24 hours for a silent retreat and what a perfect place for that! Melinda was very accommodating and the monks were kind and welcoming. The quiet atmosphere with a beautiful view is the perfect place to unplug and connect with God. The meals were simple and excellent - vegetarian choices at every meal. Our room and beds...

The Benedictines here at Mount Calvary truly live their charism of hospitality... welcoming men and women of all faiths to come a side a while and rest. No where else in Santa Barbara can you expect to find this kid of hospitality at an affordable price... and if you can't afford it... they will accept an offering. Great views from...

I visited this place with my 2 kids. We did not stay overnight but toured the grounds & had lunch here. This's a great place for retreats & if you're just looking for a quiet place to stay, this might be a place for you. The garden overlooked the hills. You're not totally secluded as there's WiFi access 3 meals...

I had wanted to stay at a monastery for several years, yet I felt some trepidation in coming. Melinda from the office staff answered my numerous questions, and her friendliness calmed my concerns. I came for a personal spiritual retreat and was more than welcomed into the life of the community. Each brother was a pleasure to be around when...

I loved this place. Came for a personal retreat alone, and although there was a "group" here in the main house, I was in one of the other houses, simple single room, shared bath, and had plenty of opportunity for quiet or silence. The monks are humble and kind. The grounds are natural and lovely, encouraging prayer and meditation. The...

It was St. Marys, but recently changed over to the brothers after a fire in their retreat house. The renamed property is old and set in the hills among trees on Los Olivos next to the Mission. It is a charming building with a large patio with plenty of tables & chairs, lovely gardens and a labrynth. Most rooms are...
