I am really untimely regarding reviews. Our visit was in June of 2021. I am confused by the negative reviews. I found the owner, Billy, and the staff, especially Mariela & Gentry to be very friendly and accommodating. They worked with us to ensure our comfort. Billy told me he had just recently (timeframe unknown) had take over the hotel and was in the process of making repairs and modernizing. The rooms were clean and tidy. There was definite wear and tear but nothing that made me feel it was dirty. The location is great and our rooms were less that $200 whereas the Hilton less than a 5 minute walk and where my nephews wedding was, cost $350 and the discounted wedding rate. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
What a terrible experience. I would never recommend this motel to anyone. Preliminarily, I have stayed in refurbished motels in the east beach area before and they were lovely. I booked Inn at East Beach thinking it would be of similar quality. It was not. I booked this sort of last minute because I was seeing friends in the area for nye. Upon checking in, the man at the front desk was not welcoming. He said that I would have to pay for parking in the back. The street is very crowded and there would not be sufficient parking. He then looked at my reservation and said because I booked through the Inn’s website parking was included. I paid an additional 50 dollars for my small shih tzu. The parking is in the back and you enter through a gate. The door to the room was partially painted. The flooring is a laminate hardwood that appeared new but was sticky and filmy. The curtains were dirty. The vanity was okay. There was a curtain over the closet. The shower and bath were very old. The toilet seat was discolored and disgusting. The tv remote was old. I had paid for a deluxe room with a fireplace. The fireplace didn’t work. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable and old. I wedged a chair to keep the door locked because there was no manual locking mechanism other than the locks themselves. The walls were nicely painted. This was terribly disappointing and honestly one of the worst nights of sleep. I do not recommend staying here.…
The room was clean. Bed ok. The internet was unreliable. When I arrived the front desk staff person ignored me while she talked to a staff person. She did thank me for my patience.....but it was a bit rude. It's a nice location.
I am only allowed 10 photos but there are about 40... This was a place a friend suggested that was cleaver, clean and a nice place. I neglected to ask him what decade he had visited. This place was terrible. Let me start with this. I left Seattle on the flight to Santa Barbara at 3:16... The two hour flight to Santa Barbara. While in the air I get two emails asking where I am by some third party booking system. However when I booked I went to their website. Had no idea I was being hijacked to a third party booking system. Where I purchased the room. The emails wanted to know where we were because they were "locking the doors" ! WT actual F? So I called the two numbers provided and neither answered. Then I get a call from the Inn. A lady with broken English asking me why I am calling. I went off to her about the email... I have never in my life experienced such a situation. I asked her what kind of place was this and she began apologizing. I said " I hope this is not setting a tone for the rest of my visit." She kept saying" I don't understand!" We arrived at about 7:30 after waiting for luggage and getting the car... A 10 minute ride from the airport... The door was locked. Then we got to the room... Which uses a regular non-security regular brass key... And this is what we found. Check out the miniature toilet for toddlers in a day care. And the rusty drain in the shower. I left out was the dirty floors and mold in the bathroom. The 5 inch thick mattress and actually box springs from I am guessing 1978? The smoke alarm that decided to go off at 8:30 am. The rate for the room after taxes was nearly $300 a night. I was expecting quite a different experience for Santa Barbara! Never again! Lesson if there is not a Marriott or Hilton... Don't book!!…
The hotel clerk told me my two electric bikes would be safe 3 feet outside front lobby. Then proceeded to walk away in the middle of the night while my two bikes were STOLEN. There is a special place in hell for this hotel. The owner acted as guilty as sin.
It’s a very nostalgic hotel that maintains it’s originality. It’s walking distance to the beach, has a great pool , our room has mini kitchen and free breakfast. The price that we paid is so reasonable. I appreciate the manager and Gerry for their kind attention. The room needs an update on the flooring. But overall very grateful and content. Thank you
The motel's attraction is being one block from the beach. The staff were also pleasant and helpful. However, the property is pretty old and in need of some TLC. The room was comfortable but over priced. I'm sure they can get the prices due to the location. That said, I'd stay at the Motel 6 next door which looked to be in better shape.
Please do not book- have been scammed out of over £600 by them. The providers have pretended to be a new management company to avoid refunding money on stay cancelled by covid. Prior to that, they were saying there was banking issues. Have had endless correspondence where they lie to me. Was disappointing enough having to cancel a trip without stress of trying to get money back.
My sister and I had an excellent experience as a guest of Inn at East Beach. We drove in very late and booked this pet-friendly hotel sight unseen. The parking lot was well lit, and we felt very safe. We were treated very kindly by all staff that we met at check-in and check-out. The hotel is recently renovated, and the rooms are clean as a whistle with mid-century modern charm. This hotel is a spot I have already told my family and friends all about it so they can stay here too. If you are ever in Santa Barbara, this is a great spot to rest and relax. Surrounding the hotel is EVERYTHING. Restaurants, shopping, and the beach is only one block away. Little bonus, we could see the ocean from our balcony.
Our March 13th visit turned into a disgusting nightmare. The $248.40 confirmation price turned into $393 upon check in . We we were given room 110. Upon check in the following occurred: -$75 pet deposit for 2 small dogs WHEN WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE $50. -$50 additional room deposit -Dark and dingy room with mold spots on walls in bathroom and dirty stained carpets with white foot print stains in bathroom. ( PICTURED) -Multiple dead bugs in bathroom light fixture. PICTURED) -leaking toilet on bathroom CARPET! yuck!! ( PICTURED) -Old dinged-furniture -NO MICROWAVE IN ROOM -CHARGED $15 ADDITIONAL TO PARK OUR CAR IN THEIR LOT VS ONTHE STREET! -View in DELUXE QUEEN ROOM WITH FIREPLACE looked out onto the pool area piled with stacked dirty furniture and construction equipment. -DIRTY SWIMMING POOL ( PICTURED) 🤮🤢MOST UPSETTING OF ALL!!!!!! 🤮 ****UPON PULLING COVERS FULLY BACK (AFTER HAVING COVERED MYSELF FOR 2 HRS WHILE RESTING ) I DISCOVERED HAIR AND STAINS ON THE SHEETS!!!! ******🤢 ( PICTURED) My adult daughter and I were quite upset. Upon discovery of the dirty linens I immediately called the front desk and Maria who was on duty ( and very nice) immediately changed and upgraded our room but the whole experience left me furious and unnerved in light of COVID. It was already 9:30 pm and we were too tired to pack and look for another motel on a Saturday night. I am not even comfortable that the blankets have been washed and changed between room guests. To say that we were upset is not even close to what we are feeling! CAUTION: DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE! BEYOND DISAPPOINTED. THE POSTED PICTURES ON WEBSITE ARE DECEIVING🥺. In talking with the manager Ameil Patel he did not know the name of the 0wner, the contact info for the Management company Bass SB that he works nor would provide me contact info for but they did reduce the charges for the nightmare by $145. I will still contact the BBB and health department. …
