having never stayed here before, i booked this hotel based on what impressed me from the website...waterfront views and the silly assumption that $300 a night buys cleanliness and comfort . after just one night here, i was grumpy, uncomfortable, and severely under-impressed. on top of that, i felt like i had been duped!! the hotel is an eyesore both... We have stayed at the Santa Barbara Inn before for the location. It is a nice place to stay, but a bit pricey. We find the staff to be friendly and helpful. The hotel is located across the street from the bikepath and the beach. We would stay there again. Besides, what is there not to love about Santa Barbara!

This had to be the worst hotel stay anywhere, ever, and I've done a LOT of traveling. My boyfriend and I found a cockroach near the bathroom sink and thought it was just one little guy who got into the room. Later in the night when I got up to use the bathroom I found two more. Needless to say... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Santa Barbara Inn for 4 nights last month when we attended a wedding in the area. The beds were comfy, the views were beautiful. Our room was very large but during the night I got very warm ( no a/c) & had no idea we'd be listening to trains about 3 times during the... More

Good news: Newly refurbished rooms are nicely done. Beds have down comforters, the furniture is beach motif, and the room doesn't have any signs of mildew. Also, the location is directly across from the beach. Complimentary continental breakfast was nice (fruit, muffins, pastries, coffee, tea, cider, cocoa, OJ). Hotel's restaurant is beautiful, has an amazing view, and the food's fantastic.... More

The ocean views are nice, but my tent can achieve that with a lot less trouble. While there were a few very friendly people working there, I never seemed to interact with them when it mattered. Unfriendly and just plain strange customer service was my experience. When I checked out, I was charged around $10 extra for parking that I... More

In this case, A guest had booked two reservations. This guest staying with us did not book the reservations, but he 'took over' the reservation from family who had booked the 2 reservations. He put his credit card down when he stayed, and the second reservation was a no-show. We have a 72cxl cancellation policy, so with no shows we... More

Having spent a lot of time in Santa Barbara I was very, very familiar with all the hotels both luxury and discount. The really large luxury hotels have all been purchased into chains and their prices are obnoxious especially considering they're either 1. not really in Santa Barbara (the Bacara) or 2. a convention hotel in disguise (Fess Parker's) or... Well let me first say that this Inn was the highlight of my 10 year anniversary weekend. That is next to the company I held (my beloved husband). When we arrived the Inn staff greeted us with a bounty of smiles and all had amazing professionalism. We both could not have been more delighted with our beachfront room. This Inn... More

This was the second stay there for me. Love the sound of the ocean at night. Nice poolside rooms. Great Continental breakfast. Staff is very nice and helpful. Had some problems with the pool being overrun by a "Soccor" camp full of little girls. Management was not quick to act on the excessive noise. Other than that, rooms are clean,... More

The room was large and comfortable. I was impressed with the cushy carpet, and the raised king-size bed. Felt like luxury. We were very comfortable. It was quiet. Our balcony faced the mountains. It was nice to go out and quietly read the newspaper (compliments of the hotel). The bathroom needed a little maintenance: new caulk and a new drain... More
