Wow, what an absolutely flawless dinner! Beautiful hotel and gorgeous dining room/experience. From the doorman, to the host, to the uber-engaging service, this restaurant has it on lock! Our server guided us through dinner as professional and aplomb as any 3star Michelin server we’ve had! The food was California-composed with layers of texture and flavor. The wine list is very curated and unpretentious. Nothing can top the view and ambiance though. Get these people Michelin starred alresdy!
This was the first time we returned to El Encanto, after it had been redone by Belmond. We had reserved a table on the terrace for dinner, which is a truly spectacular spot from which to view all of Santa Barbara. In general, the reception was very warm although quite formal, from the multiple valets to the concierge and the dining room host. We had a very good waiter who helped us with food and wine choices. However, probably due to pandemic hiring problems, he disappeared for quite a long time, and the service was agonizingly slow. There were literally almost no wait staff around. At one point the AGM came to take a drink order. The food was very good, although a bit overpriced in our opinion. Having grown up in Santa Barbara and frequented El Encanto over the much earlier years, I was a bit disappointed in the expensive and formal Belmond overlay.…
We had such a wonderful time. The property is more than magical, it brought a sense of relaxation from the moment we arrived until we departed. The staff was exceptional, always attentive and friendly. Armando was extremely helpful, the staff at the pools were attentive, the valet also kind and available to offer suggestions or sights and local gems.
This was my first trip to Santa Barbara and my travel agent recommend El Encanto. Kudos to her! The property was stunning. The views are amazing, especially from the terrace of the restaurant and from the pool. I barely left the property over 4 days. My room was wonderful - very comfortable and well appointed. I had many meals in the restaurant and the food was wonderfully prepared and presented. Special mention to Alfred, the waiter. The service throughout my stay was top-notch and very friendly. I will definitely be returning!
Wonderful place, beautiful and very clean. Staff, all of them, were wonderful and very well trained. Food at restaurant was delicious. Heated pool was a great experience. We felt special all the time. Highly recommend!
Great as usual. The property looks great. Only suggestion is room 802 needs a new sofa. Current one VERY uncomfortable; also coffee makers are terrible.... you should have Kuerigs available upon request
I often stay at The Belmond when in Santa Barbara and it exceeds my expectations every time. The rooms are large and luxurious with everything you need. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The staff are personal and kind. The setting is very special ... up in the hills but also with ocean views. We love walking around the neighborhood and down to the Mission. I highly recommend a visit!
Just came back from my second trip to El Encanto and it was once again such a great way to escape reality and have the most relaxing vacation possible. I had the 1-bedroom suite with bath and it was incredibly luxurious - I especially loved the heated floor tiles and the large soaking tub. When my group wanted to connect our ipads to the tv in the hotel room, we had the option of chromecasting and later the hotel even provided our room with an apple tv. The food was great; we had a wonderful breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Santa Barbara coastline and in room dining was also extremely good. Most importantly, the grounds of the hotel were so beautiful and we had a wonderful time walking around, swimming in the pool, and playing boardgames in the gardens. There were so many fun things to do during my trip - they had hammocks, games, they provide shuttles into town etc. El encanto continues to be my favorite hotel in California, with amazing service and an incredible one of a kind atmosphere.…
We just spent 3 memorable nights in this wonderful property. the whole staff was very friendly and accommodating, but. a special shout out to Armando (the front office manager) - exceptional person and went above and beyond to help us / show us around. the shuttle service they offer is also great , prompt and friendly drivers! just a small note - i think the concierge department is a little weak for a hotel of this quality. the recommendations are a hit and a miss- a true five star hotel needs to have that down right.
You will have an enchanted stay at El Encanto. Belmond does not disappoint and it’s locations, experiences or the excursions offered and this is no exception. The rooms are big and well appointed. They are very clean. Service is exceptionally friendly. The property itself really is enchanting. And it’s location not only provides a beautiful view, but is past the fog line that impacts a few of the other hotels in the area. Meaning that when it is sunny at El Encanto it may be June gloom elsewhere. Furthermore, although not inexpensive, the price relative to some of the competition, makes it a great value. I highly recommend.
