We stayed here for two nights as part of a bigger trip. The Inn is well appointed and well located for a wander into the downtown area as well as to the beach/ pier area (for those who like a good walk). The gardens are lovely and a great place to sit with your wine to relax.

We only had two nights in the Cheshire Cat Inn (not a cat in sight despite the name). Great location, lovely decor and comfortable bed (important after a 13 hour flight). Breakfast was wonderful with home prepared products and a great early evening drinks and nibbles to taste local wine and sample again some of the fine home prepared nibbles.... More

This is my second stay and it did not disappoint! I booked the Jean and Alice rooms for my mother's 70th birthday and she was more than pleased! Everything was clean and decorated just perfectly for the style of the facility. Very quaint! Another positive is that it is walking distance to State Street and all the shops and restaurants.... Booked hotel based on the stellar reviews. Very shabby Bed and Breakfast that needs a facelift. Rooms very old and antiquated. The happy hour was basically a sliver of cheese some crackers and deviled eggs. Asked for red wine and was told only white in case people spill and get drunk. Breakfast was an undercooked quiche that was not edible.... More

I stayed on an overnight business trip to SB because I wanted a change from hotel rooms. Stayed in the Catepillar suite which has an adorable deck to enjoy your morning coffee, and the bed was so comfortable! Hotel is in easy access to the rest of town via a quick drive or even a run or walk. Staff was... More

My husband and I came in for one night to go to an event at the SB Bowl and stayed in the Mock Turtle Room. We were so pleasantly surprised with everything at the Cheshire Cat Inn. The grounds and the houses are beautiful, quaint, impeccably kept...the room was clean and well decorated. We were so comfortable staying there. The... More

My husband & I have been coming to the Cheshire Cat for either our birthdays or anniversary for some 30 yrs now & it's always a delight. Christine (owner) & her sister consistently make you feel at home. The rooms all have a theme, are impeccably clean & decorated with lovely vintage furniture. Some have balconies (our favorite..overlooking their incredible... More

This is a hotel in a couple of traditional colonial style houses. It is centrally located near State Street. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy. Breakfast was served outside on the terrace weather permitting. There was no restaurant on the premises, but there were several near by on State Street and turnings off of it.

It's always difficult leaving a negative review and usually for such a small establishment I wouldn't incase of damaging a small business. However, we were given a card on leaving to write a review (if we enjoyed our stay) and also had an email saying the same. Being asked to write a review 'if you enjoyed your stay' implies that... We had such a nice stay at Cheshire Cat! We felt very welcome and comfortable. Our room was spacious, with a nice little deck overlooking the patio. The breakfast and afternoon snacks and wine were truly exceptional! We loved the back patio too, which has lots of places to just sit and read! And the location was perfect, walk-able to... More
