Los Angeles

We were looking for a quick weekend getaway from Los Angeles where we could take the pups (without getting gouged on pet fees). The Canary delivered! It's a great boutique hotel for a discriminating traveler. The staff is quite friendly, and the rooms are nice. They offer a casual wine tasting in the Lobby nightly, with a great restaurant and...

LATraveler90046 thank you so much for a kind review! I agree, the Canary and Santa Barbara are a fantastic choice for a weekend getaway for both types of guests- people AND pups! We really are glad to hear you found all the value in a Canary/Kimpton visit. Cheers, Ryan Parker, General Manager ryan.parker@canarysantabarbara.com

Wonderful place to stay. Great location, and very friendly staff throughout. Our room was very clean and meticulous. The decor of this place is wonderful. Considering a move from Chicago to Santa Barbara after our experience here. Plenty of great restaurants and things to do.

Nisey5111, we may not have the high rises and skyscrapers of the Windy City, but we sure have all the smiles, sunshine and sea you could ever want for. And great wine... Thank you for your fantastic compliments, visit us again and be sure to say hi when you get here. Cheers, Ryan Parker, General Manager ryan.parker@kimptonhotels.com

This is a small luxury hotel right in the middle of the action in downtown Santa Barbara. You are about 0.8 miles from the beach. It is a beautiful colonial building with nice decor. Breakfast at the hotel is awesome. There is free wifi but a $30 per night parking fee.

Jlballesteros thank you for a great and positive review! I am glad you loved the location and the breakfast. The Huevos Rancheros is my personal favorite. Wifi is free for Kimpton Karma members- a quick sign up gets you high speed wifi free. Parking is $30 a night valet, with unlimited in and out and is less than the self...

We visited the Canary a few days back after a challenging trip (11h drive from SFO, when the standard should have been around 5h) and at first we hit two problems. The room we arranged was not big enough for the four of us and the shower ceiling was dripping every time the person on the room above took a...

To our friend in Barcelona, We truly appreciate your five star review and your feedback. While I love hearing about the warm and inviting personality of the hotel and the perfect location, it's certainly disappointing to hear you had a not entirely perfect interaction with one of our Canarians and with the cappuccino delivery. Your feedback is really helpful- thank...

We stayed at this hotel one night for a wedding at the end of July. We got a king bed with a balcony and it was $600/night! I don't mind paying this much for a luxurious Four Seasons room, however, this was not the case. The balcony was barely big enough for one person to stand on and it overlooked...

Kim- it's sad to hear this felt like a two star hotel to you. I'm sorry you feel that way. For most of our guest, they find the rooms lovely and inviting and the Canary experience to be engaging and charming. I'm sorry that this experience was a let down, and the Four Seasons in town is quite a lovely...

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights. Very nice hotel with a lot of charm. Nice room, comfortable bed, and great shower. The restaurant, Fork & Finch, was very good. Front desk was hit & miss, valet parking was very efficient, and the lobby / bar had a good vibe. Visited the pool, enjoyed the views, but did not...

We had the best welcome at the canary hotel, we arrived late evening and there was a glass of wine in reception waiting for us. We were on honeymoon (and maybe mentioned it briefly on booking the room) and we were made to feel so special. The hotel is so dog friendly and really cute the welcome guests pets got...

Santa Barbara near the Canary is a very college town. Loud at night. The hotel itself is small and has a moldy smell. It's walkable to some great restaurants, but not the beach. Not an inspiring location. Dirty outside and in. Service was middling to average. Won't return.

p0tter07, oh no! I'm so sorry you felt that way. Santa Barbara does have a couple colleges- USCB in Goleta, being the largest. We have a big mix in town of students, professionals and more that help make for a lovely and diverse beachside town. You are right, the hotel is smaller with just 97 rooms but some think that...
