First off after reading several reviews and finding that there is no elevator I called and spoke to Kelsey and explained that I am a disabled Vet and need to have a first-floor room because of injuries that make climbing stairs difficult, she asked if I could hold and she would check on the dates I would be in town, she told me that they had one and changed my room, she is very polite and takes care of customers. We arrive at around 8:00 PM and was greeted by Issac, we asked about restaurants in the area he was more than happy to assist. My room was very nice and the patio was a nice place to relax. As other reviews have said the rooms are on the small side but I don't need a dance floor, just a place to lay my head after a day at the beach. Great job to Kelsey and Issac. Oh yes the train station is next door and I know the train leaves the station around 0600, They blew the horn but I did not hear it.…
We stayed here for one night while traveling for a business trip. Booked one of the rooms with the small patio and it was very charming. We had our dog, so it was nice to have a little outdoor space. We did take out food and ate there in the patio. Also really great and friendly service. Special compliments to Mindy who greeted us and also helped us check out. Wonderful location and can walk to the ocean. Would definitely stay again. Rooms are a bit small but still quite charming.
Share review Embed review Write an update Edit review 10/1/2020 It saddens me to write this review, but the management at this hotel are more interested in grabbing your money than making sure the guest is treated fairly. Their business model must target one-time tourist business with flashy ads and poor service. I made a reservation with one of their marketers and never got a confirmation. When I called the hotel to confirm my reservation, they told me I didn't have a reservation so I had to make a last minute reservation at another hotel. Then I got charged a $219 cancellation fee for not showing up at their hotel. When I called to ask why I was being charged they told me that it turns out I did have a reservation but they didn't see it before because they got confused by the initial of my middle name. Yet, they wouldn't give me a refund. They sent me on a goose chase to the third party marketer for the refund, and the third party marketer told me they would refund me but the hotel wouldn't allow it. I then sent the management two emails and they didn't even have the courtesy to respond. They just kept my money. I am a repeat travelor to Santa Barbara and they didn't care. I even offered to have them keep my money and just credit me with a room on my next visit. They didn't respond. They just kept my $219. I am part of a group that has frequent workshops and annual conferences in Santa Barbara and I am telling all about the unethical way this hotel behaved.…
My girlfriend and I stayed here for labor day weekend - we brought our dog with us. Immediately after checking into our room (which was sworn to be expertly sanitized) I found my puppy playing with something just under the side of the bed. I look under the bed and find - not one - but TWO leftover pairs of smelly athletic pants... VERY gross. To make it even worse - my puppy was nuzzling his face in said pants and guess what -- there were MULTIPLE stray pubic hairs in these pants. It was disgusting. Who wants to check-in to a hotel and be exposed to this? Especially in the midst of a global health crisis while Santa Barbara has around 208 confirmed cases of COVID. It makes you wonder -- did they clean the sheets? Did they clean the toilet seats? The shower? Imagine this running through your mind your ENTIRE stay. Luckily they did switch us rooms (this is after the gentleman at the front desk lied to us and said there were absolutely no other available rooms)... we thought "surely it must be better than our last room". Well, we were wrong. Immediately upon checking into this new room we looked under the bed and there was a pair of leftover women's shoes. Not as gross as the athletic shorts, but still it proves there is a HUGE sanitization problem at this hotel. Do they actually clean these rooms?! Or do they just make them presentable? If a pillowcase isn't visibly dirty do they just leave it there? How about the blankets? This clear neglect - at a time where cleanliness should be their number one priority - makes me caution anyone planning on staying here. Keep in mind - ALL of this is happening when there are signs all over the hotel promising the rooms will be "Clean and Comfortable" - or they will make it right. Guess what they did to "make it right" for us? They gave us 2 drink coupons. What a joke.…
First time at this hotel and loved it! Friendly staff, clean room and a compact but workable fitness room. Best part about the experience was being able to enjoy the private garden patio of my room! Location of the hotel also cant be beat.
