Its unusual to be able to say that a hotel stay was faultless. There are so many things that can go wrong. But if every member of staff is on point and the owners really care then you stand a chance. The Simpson House is sublime. They manage to project real style and panache but without the snobbery that's usually associated.... More

Lovely, historic B and B , very well located within walking distance of most attractions and restaurants in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. Nice, quiet street and lovely grounds. We enjoyed "borrowing" their bicycles for an "in-town" ride. The breakfast was delicious, but didn't start until 8:30 am, which was a bit late for us. They did happily send... More

The Simpson House is beautiful B&B hidden behind large bushes and trees wallowing it to be a quiet sanctuary. The service is attentive and the breakfast quite nice. We will return when visiting Santa Barbara

Last month, I stayed at the Santa Barbara Biltmore for three nights, which is a very nice hotel. For $1,200 a night, I got a small room, small bathroom, about 1/4 mile from reception and dining. For half of that, at Simpson House, I got a room twice as big and nicer, free snacks and wine, free breakfast and a... More

We stayed in the Master in the main house for 4 nights which was simply gorgeous. We loved the decoration and the extra touches that made this such a special room, especially the wonderful private balcony where we could have breakfast and relax. However wonderful the setting, decoration and the outstanding snacks and wine and breakfasts, what makes this amazing... More

We booked the Katherine McKormick room which was one of their cheaper options for one night. It was spacious enough for the two of us yet still very cozy. Decorated in a style which made it feel like the 1850s, it's easy to get engrossed by the story of this old house. However, it is still has modern fixtures, a... More

The staff was always on top of their game, the location was amazing, and oh-my-God, the food was incredible! Hors d'oeuvres and wine tasting in the evenings and delicious breakfast (better than any restaurant we tried nearby), and they'll even bring it up to your room for no extra charge. They always leave nice notes and relevant quotes from famous... More

This is the nicest place we have ever stayed, better than a 5 star hotel. Their attention to detail is amazing, form the personalsed breakfast menus to the turn down service in the evening. A paper at your door each morning, welcome cupcakes in your room to the amazing spread of nibbles they proved at happy hour each day. Very... More

We stayed at the inn in July 2015 (I've only just round to reviewing) as part of our honeymoon. We arrived in late afternoon and were invited to enjoy some nibbles and wine in the main house and the delights didn't end there as in our room we had some cake to congratulate us on our honeymoon. Our 'room' was... More

This was my first (and first of many to come) stay's at a Bed and Breakfast and wow was I blown away. From the very moment you drive in, you are in a total state of Zen. The innkeeper greeted us right away, offered us wine and cookies, and gave us a thorough tour and explanation of the property. Our... More
