We had a great stay at this hotel when coming to visit Hearst castle for the first time. Very convenient and comfortable. Cute little pool area, and our room had a lovely ocean view through a big window. The staff were phenomenal. So accommodating and understanding. We had to cut our trip short for my husband's work and the manager was so understanding and supportive; he didn't charge us for the second night even though we found out we needed to leave several hours after check out time. I work hospitality and would've totally understood needing to pay but the fact that he didn't even hesitate and was just so kind about it was much, much appreciated, especially given that we were already disappointed about having to leave early. Thank you!

Staying at The Morgan Hotel was not cheap, nor was it one of the better experiences. For the price the guests pay, breakfast is very poor. Cheaper hotels offer more! Although there is nice background music and a lady who is there to help, this does not compensate for ... ... not having any jam AT ALL! They have butter, though, but what for if you do not have any jam. No jam, no eggs (in what form ever, nor any sausages! For the price the guests pay ... it is just not worth it (and there is only one choice of toasted bread). The people sitting next to us had to spread strawberry flavoured joghurt on their toast!! I do not think that this was their daily routine!

Bay Area residents that come down to Central Coast/San Simeon fairly often but have never stayed at Morgan before. Very pleasant experience! We only bought room one day prior on a busy weekend ... price is way high but what the market Is right now so if you want to come down ... it is ... what it is! Bottom line ... great experience. Check-in was easy/fast and the front desk attendant was great. Suggested somewhere to grab a decent dinner (Cavalier) and he was spot on. Best part, we got a 2nd floor room in the other building (not lobby) and we had nice view of the sea and with windows open was so pleasant! We could enjoy sunset a bit. Lot of easy parking and a quick walk to the beach. Having a bath was big plus as we were in need after a day at the beach! The room was large, decent bed/pillows. Pretty old and small TV but what we'd expect in the area and was adequate to find something to watch after a busy day. Really close to Hearst so having a glass at Hearst Winery and seeing zebras was great. Would we stay again?!! A very big YES! Front desk happy attitude was huge! There was a cute little pool we did not have time to use. Breakfast was pretty meh but that's not important to us as we found amazing cafe in Cambria for a great breakfast (Mimosa Cafe). Last comment - we slept like babies with windows open ... fresh sea salt air and very quiet!

We stayed one night, in two rooms. Check-in was quick, but we were surprised to learn that there are two buildings, and we had one room in each building. The second building is down the street, past the restaurant next door. Not real convenient, when you want to go to the pool in building #1, or pick up breakfast in building #1. The pool was fine, but appeared to be run down. The room (two queen beds) was okay, but again … run down. Big tears in the sheer curtains. Two office chairs by the window, instead of comfortable chairs. It was fine, considering that we were only there to sleep, before visiting Hearst Castle in the morning. Breakfast was okay, but minimal choices. Overall, it’s a good location when visiting Hearst Castle. But I wouldn’t stay more than one night.

Nicholas at the front desk was very helpful and patient, showing us several rooms and making sure we found something suitable. The Morgan is a very good hotel value, in a great location. You are just steps away from long stretches of wild, undeveloped shoreline.

My reservation for a multiple day stay (made a month in advance) had been changed by a day. The booking agency (not Expedia - lesson learned) never notified the hotel. The Morgan personnel spent about 20" getting it right. Thank you Morgan & had an otherwise great stay!

We like to stop here when driving up the coast. Well situated near great dining, beautiful coastline, wineries, the castle and elephant seals. Very welcoming and comfortable. Price made it a great deal. Nice to have breakfast when on the road

Located on the 1 just north of Cambria and moonstone landing. Spotlessly clean rooms and good facilities. The hotel is easy to find and the staff are friendly and courteous. It’s close to elephant seal beach which is a must if you are there in the breading season (November to March I think)

This hotel is older but is in a very good location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a king room which was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The only complaints we have are that the bathroom was very small and outdated, but the shower did work very well. Also the breakfast was disappointing, but I believe that is due to Covid.

I was a little scared to come here after reading some other reviews, but it was completely fine for a night along the PCH. I wouldn't want to have stayed longer here, though. It definitely is in need of updates in the entire facility, and new window treatments etc. However, it was clean enough and the bathroom was fine with good shower. The restaurant between the buildings as described on the website is actually a Mexican restaurant that is unrelated to the hotel. The pool looked small. We didn't have a view of the ocean, but it was close enough for a walk. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast options were basic but fine. We went to the Cavalier restaurant nearby as recommended, and then walked through the other hotel's facilities - games and fire pits on the beach front, pretty fun. I couldn't judge if the other hotel would've had better rooms or not, the whole town is kind of dumpy but if you're there for Pacific Coast views, you'll get them.
