I was a little scared to come here after reading some other reviews, but it was completely fine for a night along the PCH. I wouldn't want to have stayed longer here, though. It definitely is in need of updates in the entire facility, and new window treatments etc. However, it was clean enough and the bathroom was fine with good shower. The restaurant between the buildings as described on the website is actually a Mexican restaurant that is unrelated to the hotel. The pool looked small. We didn't have a view of the ocean, but it was close enough for a walk. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast options were basic but fine. We went to the Cavalier restaurant nearby as recommended, and then walked through the other hotel's facilities - games and fire pits on the beach front, pretty fun. I couldn't judge if the other hotel would've had better rooms or not, the whole town is kind of dumpy but if you're there for Pacific Coast views, you'll get them.

We were on a family vacation from the east coast (stayed in AZ then LA and making our way up the coast to San Fran). This hotel is extremely outdated, musty, dirty , walls were paper thin (we could hear the man snoring all night next door) and not at all covid complaint. All guests we saw were walking around without masks, it wasn’t encouraged or mandated. We stayed less than 24 hrs and everyone in our party of 10 couldn’t wait to get out of there. Do not stay there!

Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at the Morgan Hotel. Allow me to apologize on behalf of our hotel for failing to meet your expectations regarding our covid procedure on your recent visit. We are constantly updating our policies as the county updates its restrictions. During your visit, it was not a requirement by the county for guests to wear a mask in the public areas. Unfortunately, we cannot force any guests visiting the hotel to follow these restrictions. We offer free masks, hand sanitizer, and gloves for all guests visiting the hotel but can only encourage guests to use these items.

Very helpful and friendly staff. We got a deluxe queen room with a partial view of ocean and it was nice sleeping with the windows open. The fireplace was a nice touch. There was plenty of parking. The room was very clean. They are very dog friendly. The negatives are beds were old. You could hear someone move at night and one bed was sagging on one side. It was still somewhat comfortable to sleep in. The furnishing are old and need to be changed out. The bathroom was okay just cramped. They only had a small refrigerator and no microwave. The windows coverings were old and needed changing as well. The pool was small and we didn’t enter since we had the beach just 5 mins away. The breakfast was just muffins, apple, Jimmy dean breakfast sandwich and quaker oatmeal instant packs. The drinks were coffee, teas, Orange juice from concentrate and water. They had one microwave and a 4 slice toaster in the lobby area, Ice machine and soda snack machines. There are no Elevators or air conditioners but with the sea breeze it’s not needed. The property is next to a Mexican restaurant and a walk away from a Beautiful beach. The price was reasonable for the time of year and the location. The walk to the parking lot in the back was not lit because an exterior light was out. Overall it was okay but with some maintenance and new beds/ furnishings it would have been wonderful based on the location and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Go to Cambria if you need supplies and the restaurants are much better. The area is very remote...

Really enjoyed our stay at the Morgan. We arrived a bit early and the gentleman at the front desk gave us a call when the room was ready, giving us a chance to walk around the area and down to the headlands. We were able to sit down their until the room was ready. Pretty cool. Room was excellent considering I've paid more for similar accomodations is Sacramento and Natomas. The fireplace in the room was a nice addition. We were close enough to hear the surf and could almost see the ocean. Things were clean and organized. Carpets are nearing the ends of their lives, but you don't sleep on them... Food options are plentiful, not on site, but very close. Still under Covid rules, so breakfast was prepackaged and decent. Service was great, from our checkin to checkout, staff was pleasant and helpful. Super close to Cambria and Hearst Castle (reopening in several months...). San Simeon Beach was nice and looked like a great spot to hang out, especially with all of the trees in the area. We will definitely be back. A great stay from start to finish.

A stay at the Morgan is a visit with your grandma. Older rooms (think 30+) plenty clean, relaxed, largish rooms. Take the stairs. No air, windows open. Deal with it sonny. Would I stay again, yes ma’am. And finish those Brussels sprouts.
