Drove from LA to San Mateo and found this restaurant and shops. Had a wonderful lunch with a spectacular view. Great place to sit down, relax , eat and shop....would be a great venue for a wedding or any other outdoor party

Traveling up the PCH early June we just happened upon this lovely inn. The room was charming and rustic. The grounds were beautiful and the view of the ocean was amazing! We ate dinner at the restaurant on the patio next to the outdoor fireplace, which was necessary as the fog off the ocean was chilly. The food and service... More

Loved the view, the room, the in-room fireplace, and the convenient restaurant on the premises. But, beware, your room might fill up with smoke wafting from motel guests lounging on their balcony or strolling along the fence overlooking the seaside cliff. It would be such an improvement if NO SMOKING signs were posted along walkways. No fresh ocean breezes...just stale... More

We drove down to San Diego from Portland and this was one of our favorite stops, the view of the rocky coast was beautiful, we loved the outdoor areas and there were a ton of stars! It was a little more than we wanted to spend but holy cow, there really aren't many other options around there. And we were... More

On our way down from SF to Santa Barbara we stayed one night in the hotel and they have large room (a little dated) with a great view of the ocean. Despite its colse to the road we never had been disturbed by car noise, all you hear is the ocean. PS: If you want to start early, breakfast and... More

My nephew and his fiancé were married at the Ragged Point Inn and that is why I stayed there, for two nights, in June. The drive up the California coast is, of course, an event in itself. About an hour after arrival, a bank of fog rolled in and we all were worried about the next day, their wedding. No... More

This is the southernmost cliff along Highway 1 and is SO Big Sur. It is a complex of motel, convenience store (junk food only!), restaurant and wine bar. Beautiful views along the cliffs. There was a band playing during the Sunday afternoon that we were there. Room was comfortable but slightly rustic. Balcony overlooking great views of the Pacific.

Ragged Point Inn is undoubtedly in a beautiful setting however it is a stop off point for all to enjoy with no exclusivity for residents. We were booked in for two nights which was one night too many as not enough to keep you there especially evening time, with one expensive restaurant offering Nouveau Cuisine (try the Buffalo starter -...
