Very nice clean surprising experience. Ocean is right across the main drag and we walked over to see the sunset. Comfy and the restaurant was quite good. Would definitely stay again. Loved the bird of paradise flowers in front of rooms.

Been ther for one night for stop over on the way to LA. Hotel was clean, rooms a bit small with luggage. Beds have been OK, rooms are clean. Nice setup with small pool. Parking in front of room. Service for breakfast could be better but was acceptable. Front desk was friendly and fast. Can be recommended for short stay... More

The San Simeon Lodge is a complete site - hotel, pool, restaurant, convenience store, and bar all at one location with lots of parking. And at a very reasonable room rate. Rooms are basic and a bit dated but clean and easily accessed. We didn't try the restaurant but it sure was busy.

the people in room above us were constantly walking back and forth or running Not sure but it was loud. Could have been kids but they started early in morning which woke us up and it went on for at least an hour

Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, and everything worked. You can see the ocean from the room, but you are looking over a good size parking lot to do so. Room was a bit warm when we checked in at late afternoon, and rooms do not have fans built in or available. We opened the windows, which helped, but... More

The room was clean and well maintained. The staff was helpful and polite. Wished we could have stayed another night to enjoy the pool and beach right across the road. No air conditioning in our room but there was a wall unit fan. Very close to Hearst Castle which was our main destination.

This hotel was from an era gone by but was full of charm. The room was basic but very clean. The bed was very comfortable. They had happy hour drinks specials in the restaurant which is what we were looking for and we were able to dine on the patio of the restaurant because they have a clear wind shield... More

The accommodations were satisfactory. Water pressure in bathroom sink and shower were rather low. TV receptions was snowy and very limited number of channels. The bed was nice. Sound level during the night was quiet. The restaurant was very good. We had pizza for lunch and traditional breakfast items, all very good. There is a parking lot right across the... More

This is a throw-back to a 1960's motor lodge, but not in a bad way. Open grassy area with a pool (too cold for my Florida taste), but really nice looking. The room was clean and basic. We had breakfast in the restaurant. Nothing special, but, again, it was fine. Conveniently located to Hearst Castle (our purpose for being there)... More

The price and location are the best things about this hotel. It is a very basic room, and was okay for the one night we stayed. There is no air conditioning, but cooled off sufficiently at night. Close to Hearst Castle and the sea lion rookery. Cambria was nearby and has good places to eat and 2 gas stations.
