We recently stayed at Cordevalle for a three night stay and were blown away by the staff professionalism, accommodations, views and facilities! Cordevalle is private, discreet and conveniently located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains. The website images and photos don't do justice to the suites, bungalows or villa homes. The bungalow photos on the website looked great, but to our surprise they were even better in person with goose-down comforters, original artwork, a stone fireplace and a Nespresso machine. There was an open-air patio with a superb views of the golf course and a spacious bathroom with a roll-in shower. To our delight, was an outdoor shower and a private jacuzzi! They had thought of absolutely everything! My husband is handicapped so we worked with Talia to make sure everything would be accessible for him. Talia was extremely detailed and thorough in making sure everything was just right for him! Christian, our golf cart driver, was very timely and pleasant. We highly recommend a stay at Cordevalle! What a special treat and memory for our family.…
Excellent small, casual, indoor-outdoor bar with partially covered patio. Idyllic golf course views. Attentive, pleasant, helpful service from Josh at lunch, Esteban at dinner and Vanessa at breakfast. Could not have been better. Very VERY good Country Club food with pretty presentation. LUNCH: Delicious bloody mary. Perfectly cooked, juicy half pound cheeseburger, with fabulous beer battered french fries. Best fries ever! Perfectly grilled Hot Dog with various accompaniments DINNER: Hot from the oven baguette, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside - perfection! Tuna Tartare tacos and Beau Soleil oysters on the half shell. Their version of steak tartare was covered with cheese and bland (I love traditional steak tartare. This version was not to my liking) Excellent squash blossom tempura and Zucchini tempura - light, flavorful, delicious enough I could have had them as an entree all on their own! DESSERT: Strawberry gaspacho - room temperature. I would have adored this had it been a granita. Mini pavlova - rock hard pavlova did not have the delicate outside I am used to and the berry sauce was overly sweet to my taste BREAKFAST: Fresh squeezed orange juice was meh. (Maybe April isn't the season for juice oranges.) Huevos Rancheros were excellent. Perfectly cooked eggs. Avocado toast with perfectly cooked eggs was also excellent and flavorful. Highly recommend. Great combination of crunch and softness. Pancakes were light and fluffy, could not have been better! Special coffee drink with whipped cream was delicious. Reasonably priced and worth every penny. A nice treat to dine there while you are staying at Cordevalle. (I will write a separate review about the accommodations)…
Idyllic, tranquil escape! The moment you drive up the hill to the secluded property, you know you have left the outside world behind. Gorgeous setting, beautiful facilities and attentive, friendly staff....I will emphasize that again — amazing group of people making sure you have the best stay possible. Look forward to returning here again soon.
The food at dinner was not very good. Cold and salty ribeye steak and very icy ice cream....Also woke up to the sound of construction or loud landscaping equipment at 6:30 am. It was a very disappointing stay
Facilities are top notch extremely clean and very peaceful setting. Entire staff is very friendly and accommodating! Golf course is awesome. Would highly recommend if a quite retreat is what you are looking for.
Room was 38. During middle of night, lots of insects crawling in from nowhere. I took out more than 10 of them. Then I decided I need to call the front desk. They told me there is nothing they can do as other rooms would have the same situation. Then asked me to soak the towels and put them underneath the front door to stop these insects coming in. Followed by doing pest spray outside of the door so the heavy toxic smell was with us the first half of the night. I also need to mention the internet was out the entire night and the staff told me there is nothing they can do because this property is kind of far from the city so I need to understand that. Couple minor things as well - the backyard was crawling with alot of ants that I couldn't even stay out there for more than 5 minutes. When we tried to get back from the hiking trails, we waited for more than 15 minutes before the golf cart arrive and picked us up (It was 90 degree outside with my kid). Then I reported the insects incident to the front desk when we checked out. The lady just told me "Oh, I am so sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience with us" then told me I am all set to leave the property. However I do need to mention the good experience I had during dinner and breakfast there. Staff there were very helpful and nice to get us what we needed. That night was truly a horror movie experience as insects were everywhere and we couldn't leave but trapped in the room with strong pest spray with my kid. (I did think of just sleep in my car but it was too late (past mid night) and my car is way too far away that we could not possibly walk there.…
It’s just our first night for this stay but we feel like we have to give a big shout out to Lars and his crew in the dining room. Yum!!! Deviled eggs with caviar, steak tartar, pavlova for dessert and all with great wine pairings. Jen and Alex provided truly outstanding service. Cordevalle is pretty much the perfect post pandemic transition site. If you live in the Bay Area, it’s a no-brainer.
Gorgeous location, felt like a hidden gem. Absolutely beautiful setting, landscaping, and architecture inside and out. Beautiful lobby and restaurant. We had a great room that was beautiful, felt a little tired, but still very nice and luxurious.
We spent three nights at Cordevalle with our family. One day we played golf at the adjacent course. First of all, we must say that everyone who works there is super friendly, lovely and helpful. However, the resort is very understaffed. This may be Covid-transition related. However, if the resort intends to keep a 5-star status with its accompanying rates, it needs to step up its game. What does it lack? Actually, it lacks charm, flowers, special touches, updated room decor, service at the pool and more staffing. With that said, thank all of you who helped to make our stay a good one!
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a weekend get away. The hotel itself is amazing and the staff is super accommodating. The bar Manager, Aaron was very attentive and made the sure everything went great. Would recommend the hotel to all friends and family.
