Front desk staff were polite, helpful and always cheerful. Rooms were of a good size and despite my worry about location so close to the freeway, nighttime noise was not a problem.
Complimentary breakfast was good but room was far too noisy!

This hotel is very well kept, with modern updates, and the room and bed were very comfortable. Although COVID-19 restricted the breakfast offering, the hotel still provided a good option with oatmeal, muffins, yogurt, and fruit as well as good hot coffee. The water is a little on the soft side.

This place was fine. The room was kind of bare bones nice. Good-sized mini fridge. Nice bathroom. Buffet breakfast was ok — nothing hot except the very small, slow-to-make pancakes. Breakfast room was small, crowded and a little dehumanizing.

We have been staying here for a couple of years since our daughter is a Cal Poly student. We have liked the hotel in the past. It has really changed over the last year and this last visit was our last. The room we got for our 2 night stay had two really awful beds, very soft. We really could not sleep on it and having a bad back was a complication. After our Friday night stay and seeing many people checking out Saturday morning we asked to move. We knew there were many options for us to make a change. They did nothing to help us. Zero. We checked in many times to ask if they had a room we could move to. Of course there were options but they made no effort. I requested an extra set of sheets to sleep on the floor Saturday night. The now on duty desk person who gave us sheets commented that we should have absolutely been moved and he was going to check with his manager before we checked out for a "discount" or some accommodation. When we checked out the same girls at desk that did nothing said they could have provided discount but since we were working with "manager" they could not. We never talked to a manager as no one followed up. Paying this much money should not require you to sleep on the floor and we know there are better beds as we have slept on them in previous stays. So no caring whatsoever and any effort put forth to help. They have plenty of time to stand around and talk to each other. As a side note there once nice breakfast and coffee is now granola bars, instant oatmeal and coffee that is so bad you cannot drink it. Even the front desk people stated they switched suppliers and they hate it too. We had to go out for coffee each morning. Honestly I think they make it super weak to save a few cents. I am sorry to say they have really gone down hill and utterly failed to make any effort to move us to a room where I was not on the floor. We stayed there Feb 18/19th.

Very clean establishment and friendly attendees plus a decent continental breakfast. Bathrooms were well supplied with fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers, makeup removal tissues and even a shower cap. Our room had a King sized bed, a side chair with ottoman, fridge, TV and coffee maker. A rarity was also the addition of a DVD player. Great choice for the area and it includes a decent continental breakfast with pancakes.

I'm rather shocked that the hotel won't send me the billing details that I've now directly requested three times from the general manager.
I was quoted a price when I made the booking with the hotel before our stay, when I checked out, I asked for a copy of the bill/credit card charges but was told by the staff member that I didn't need one as it would be exactly as in the original booking email. It wasn't, and I cannot get an explanation for the additional charge. I accept that it's only a few dollars, but I would like to know why there's this difference. As with anything I might buy, I expect the price to be as specified - if it isn't, then the difference should be explained.
I have never ever had an experience where a business will not provide details of its charges and a breakdown of a bill - at the very best this is highly unprofessional.

I expected more from this property given the price. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. The room was clean but dated and the bed wasn't very comfortable. The air conditioner looked ancient and was way too noisy. It also would come on for just a few minutes and then shut off. Breakfast selection was just OK. There were some microwaveable breakfast sandwiches and burritos along with yogurt and some extremely bland pre-wrapped pastries from a local bakery. Overall, this was a motel experience for a luxury price.

I was very pleased with my stay here. The rooms were modern and clean. The breakfast was plentiful. The staff was friendly. I enjoyed the fresh cookies in the lobby. The location is convenient to town and the freeway. The room was a bit noisy, not sure what the noise was, I am assuming the elevator across the hall but possibly the heater. I got hot during the night and could not find a thermostat. Overall a good stay.

Advertised as a boutique hotel, this was not that. The rooms were fine, although we did not get a balcony with a view of the hills as advertised. Most disappointing were the breakfasts in a crowded room, with just basic selections on paper plates. The breakfast staff could not answer questions in English which led to some confusion. And for tea drinkers, only coffee, no tea in the room.

Spent my birthday weekend here. Love the patio. Staff are friendly. The room is clean. Location is perfect. Only thing is the walls are thin so I can hear noises from other rooms. I can hear footsteps upstairs, baby crying from next door. The breakfast was not really breakfast to me but I understand it is due to pandemic. Overall I had great time.

Thank you for your thoughtful review and taking the time to post feedback of your stay with us! We thank you for understanding the limitations the pandemic put on our breakfast options and we hope to host you again, especially now that we have been able to expand our options. We have our pancake machine back! Which has been very popular as it's cool to watch and the pancakes are so yummy. Thank you for choosing us to host your visit to San Luis Obispo! We hope to host you again soon.

Hi, unfortunately we do not provide pull out sleeper sofas in double rooms, with 4 people being the maximum occupancy in this room type.
I guess my opinion offended you as well. Well....really all I did was ask you some pertinent questions...so....Cool! Grow thicker skin and buck up maybe!
