Well, where to start...I would not go back, ever! I am not the one to complain so we did not say anything when we was there. However, the place was jus dirty. Carpets n couch in room was absolutely hideous. The staff was super amazing n nice! I felt bad to tell them how horrible the room was so I said nothing. I jus wish the rooms were as great as the ladies in office. The rooms were jus so dirty. I can never go there again and im always in SLO...

It was disgusting, complained as soon as we got to the room on June 12th, stains on sheets, blood on sheets, cockroaches all over, mold all over ceilings, the air conditioner smelled like old pee did not work. We were assured someone would come clean, and no one did. They are not a business that should be left open. When we left we made another complaint, and got the run around, oh this person will help we were assured that we would get our refund back, then the “owner” calls us and says he will get the payment approved through management. The next week the same guy calls says he is the “manager” now and tells us he does not have any one above him he is on the board. We asked about the corporate number again, and got the run around. Today July 2nd we get a call from Shandi the “owner/manager” and tells us we never complained until we left. We have called and harassed and cussed out the employees. He was very hostile. And we did no such thing. He called us a scam because we insulted his cleanliness of his hotels. Will never go. Hotel has everything but bedbugs. But then again we didn’t look in every room

I got a good deal at the Lamplighter Inn & Suites as a place to spend a couple nights while taking my son back to his university after the holidays. The price was reasonable, the location seemed well suited for walking to downtown San Luis Obispo, and the staff member who checked me in could not have been more pleasant. Unfortunately, part of my stay involved actually going into the room. It was terribly run down and very dirty. The light operated by the switch near the door kept going out unless I jiggled the switch. There was filth everywhere. The door didn't fully shut unless you deliberately pulled it closed (which is dangerous for personal as well as property reasons). And the shower was literally held together with duct tape! Here is an abbreviated list of what I was treated to in my room: o A door that looked like it had been kicked in by a SWAT team o Foreign debris on the sheets and pillow case, which prompted me to spend two nights sleeping on top of the covers o Loads of grime and debris along the baseboards, particularly behind the nightstands o Soap scum on the sink that should have been cleaned off o Filth dripping down the wall in the bathroom that would literally take five seconds to wipe away, which was here when I checked in so it wasn't from me o Mold on the shower caulking o The aforementioned duct tape, sealing the shower assembly to the moldy tile below I know this is hard to believe, so photos are attached. Thankfully I only had to spend two nights, or I would've checked out early and gone to any one of the half a dozen decent looking hotels within a stone's throw. I see that this motel used to be a Comfort Inn. I'm curious whether the franchise dropped them for this kind of stuff. Do yourself a favor and don't be lured in by the low room rate. It's low for a reason; just not low enough.

Unlike some other reviews, we found this hotel great for the price. We stayed in December 2019. We were in a King room in the main building upstairs. Clean room, bathroom, great continental breakfast with eggs, fruits, sausages and a variety of serials. They probably have upgraded the inside recently. We would come back here if in SLO again for sure.

Stopped off on a family trip from LA to San Francisco. Was “welcomed” with what can only be described as a Luke warm welcome by a male member of staff... on enquiring about local food/delivery options. He was not able to offer any advice other than “get an app”. Rooms are incredibly tired and dated... Safe didn’t work.. BLANKETS on bed and the coffee machine was in the bathroom next to toilet. Asked for change for vending machines.. only to be told they didn’t have any quarters... when I found some tried every vending machine for soft drinks but they were all empty.. this Information was met with a disinterested shrug by a female member of staff... the poorest experience I have ever had in a US hotel.. and have stayed in a lot of hotels at a wide range on prices and this wasn’t the cheapest... My advice if staying in SLO would be to look else where
