Highly Elegant & Classic Without "Stuffy" Or Elitist Attitudes From Staff
What an awesome hotel this is! It's classically lovely with an outstanding General Manager, named Braydon and an authentically kind & cool front desk professional named Shannon. Although my stay here was for only one night on 1/12/21, I was made to feel at home and very welcomed. The rooms contain plush, comfortable bath robes and beds and an outstanding selection of shower gel, shampoo and lotion. There was also complimentary toothpaste and sanitizing wipes. Parking and bicycle rentals were also free. One especially charming trait about the hotel was that I was offered a glass of custom made Rose upon arrival. The wine is made by their own vintner! How cool is that? The hotel is also in a prime, safe location surrounded by several quality shopping options and eateries. They've got their own bistro onsite and also a lovely upstairs indoor seating area with a fireplace and an outdoor patio area with said fireplace. Finally, there was an offering of complimentary breakfast for me on 1/13/21. The staff delivered the breakfast box to my room. Hot tea or coffee, a large croissant with butter. Granola with yogurt and almond milk. Fresh fruit (apple & orange) The Granada is the place to be!

The ONLY place to say in SLO
If you haven't stayed at the Grenada Hotel when you've visited San Luis Obispo, you are missing out on the best place in town. I stayed here just for one night in July, during the updated safety protocol during coronavirus and it was so wonderful. San Luis Obispo has, of course, amazing shopping and dining, but truthfully I didn't want to leave the sanctuary that is Grenada! I stayed in one of the deluxe Queen bedrooms that has a balcony overlooking Higuera street, and it was so luxurious. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I shared with them in confidence that I was traveling alone, and felt very safe there. The bathroom and steam shower is a must, and you can sit out on the terrace in teh evenings, which is precisely what I did do avoid social contact during coronavirus. I ordered food to-go from Novo downtown (my favorite restaurant in SLO), and took it back to eat on the Grenada patio. Everything you need is within walking distance (food, drink, urban "hiking,"). Next time I will take advantage of all the amenities this hotel has to offer in a post-coronavirus world, and can't wait to return. And if you're worried about traveling during coronavirus, don't be. The staff wears masks, requires guests to do so when checking in, and provides complimentary hand sanitizer for you to keep during and after your stay. ALSO I should mention that the shampoo/conditioner/amenities overall are the best I've ever had. I think in many ways you get your money's worth during coronavirus when staying at this hotel, because you get to take full advantage of all it has to offer. Can't wait to return!

    Excellent location and service
Very comfortable rooms in a great location with a popular bistro downstairs that also provides room service. The town itself is a gem with great shops and a variety of outdoor dining. There is a required extra charge that includes breakfast and a number of amenities.

TLDR: Hotel is made for couples We stayed at the Granada for one night while passing through the area. Purposely staying on a Thursday to spend some time at the SLO farmer's market. Location is right in the middle of where the farmer's market is, close to all the shops, bars and restaurants. Parked and never had to go to my car until we left. There is not enough parking for all the rooms and the driveway is super narrow - not ideal for SUVs. Additional parking is a block away and they will reimburse or validate. The hotel is very unique. I was told that it was built in the 1920's as a hotel, transformed into low income housing then back into a hotel. The hotel has a restaurant on one side and a little speakeasy on the other. Upstairs where the rooms are, the middle area is a common area with soft seating as well as a terrace overlooking the street with a gas fireplace. We ate our dinner and the continental breakfast they offer with the room stay out on the terrace. Loved this area! We stayed in a queen room (no fireplace). The room itself was not large but enough space for 2 people with minimal luggage. There is one soft chair, no closet. The toiletries provided were spa quality in the form of refillables. The reason for the statement that the hotel is made for couples is because the shower is fully exposed. The walls of the shower are visible to the room and are made of glass almost all the way around. There is one room where one side had 3 long window like openings but still completely visible to anyone in the room. In other rooms, the shower also has windows to the outside however those windows do not face anything so no one can see. So if you are staying with a friend or sibling or someone other than your partner, be prepared to be seen. They provide a bunch of snacks and drinks on a tray for purchase as well as a "lovers kit". I suggest going through to make sure everything is there as soon as you get in. We got charged for gummy bears that weren't on the tray when we arrived. I just thought they must have run out but then was charged. There is a $20 amenity fee but the only amenities were a glass of wine upon check-in and the breakfast. Maybe the common areas are also included in that? If you like funky, unique hotels and like it when your partner watches you shower, then this is the place for you!

The hotel is unusual and has lots of character. Our room had a corner fireplace which was nice and cozy since we arrived on a cold and rainy night. We ate at the Bistro, highly recommended both for the food and the wine. Staff are friendly and helpful. Huge, flaky croissants provided at breakfast!

First of all the positives : great location as near all the restaurants shops and bars , really lovely friendly staff and especially the bar staff . Nice continental break fast in the morning , and nothing seemed a problem , BUT. If travelling as a couple do not book room No7 , my wife and I booked a queen room , it was my fault I suppose as I didn’t read the size of the room on booking .com , it was 16m2, as we say in the uk “ Not enough room to swing a cat” , it was tiny , the bed was against the wall so whoever slept that side either had to climb over you or get off the bottom of the bed . The sink was actually in the room 3’ from the bed , no wardrobe , no fridge . They had a tray on a stand with drinks and nibbles on , they should have had a coffee machine , we’re on a fly drive holiday with two large suitcases and a travel case , put them in the room and your in trouble for floor area , this would be ideal for a single traveller not a couple . If I ever went back I’d definitely check room size before booking .

I’m a closet hotel snob that will really only stay at a 4-star + hotel. I like nice places, what can I say? The ratings have to be good. Clean. Comfortable. Chic. Unique. Good toiletries. The list goes on. This is my 3rd stay at the Granada and it’s one of my fav places on the planet. So well done, bravo. Will be back.

Arrived here just after check in and no parking available. I was traveling solo so having to unload then go park my car two blocks away was super inconvenient. Not to mention having to walk in the rain early the next morning at check out to go get my car… I would not have stayed here if I had known the parking situation. Also the quaint bar next door was closed on Sunday..disappointing…no elevator..room extremely small, noisy..

Dearest Granada Inn, Where to begin… Granada Inn San Luis Obispo, quintessential sea side town meets old rustic, yet luxurious 1920s brick and mortar. It’s quant and private atmosphere welcomes every guest graciously to his beautiful rooms, decorated chicly and rusticity. Feathery fluffy white cotton sheets, cooly cozy thick white comforters drape across the bed netting gorgeous hand made red Persian rugs as they lie still on a cold smooth tile. A fire place to warm the room, a shower and sink space covered in elegant polished title that screams Great Gatsby, and even a small but quaint balcony to look over beautiful SLO— if you have the luxury of staying in the Granada Queen— as you sip your mornings brew. The short halls guide you downward and through a leather filled lounge with yet another fire place to enjoy many a cocktail, surrounded by century old brick and wood that nearly transports you to another time. Below this ether is the dinner room, both out side and in, where guest enjoy some of the finest cuisine and drinks San Luis Obispo has to offer. Granada Inn is the full experience, an immersion to another place with rotary phones and simpler times. With an environment so chicly rustic and quaintly cozy, you’d be hard pressed to leave your room. It does beg the question… why stay anywhere else? I hope you all enjoy your stay as much as I have, because just like I, you’ll be coming back for seconds. -Garrett (Actor/Writer)

This hotel is more appropriate for those used to hostel travel - no where near a 5 star establishment. Check in was easy, it’s in a wonderful location to downtown and the Bistro is superb. It’s in a charming building but not functional as a hotel. Parking offered during our stay was 2 blocks away AND we weren’t notified it was that far until we checked in. By then it was too late to cancel - according to front desk staff. All rooms are on second floor and no elevator was provided. The room was very cramped very claustrophobic with too much furniture and the “closet” was a joke! A glass cubicle that took up approximately four feet of a 200 foot room with only two hangers. The bed was piled with pillows but no where to stash them. The toilet was in a closet, the sink in the bedroom room. The shower was incredibly tiny. Additionally the TV in room did not work and the staff could not get it to function. (One of the young desk clerks said she didn’t own a TV and couldn’t operate the remotes.) After 45 minutes of fiddling they told us we had to change rooms. This second room was larger BUT the air conditioner did not work. A fan provided was inappropriately large for the room and took up too much room to be useful. Only grooming products were provided gratuitously. There was a daily amenities fee of $20, but no real amenities were provided. The hotel did not even provide drinking waters. All in all a real letdown.

Everything about this hotel was awesome!!!. We were given an incredible glass of rosè and then given a very educated tour of the hotel. Brayden even was so sweet to even have our bottles of wine on ice for is so we could enjoy then when we returned. I will definitely be back to this hotel as its so quaint, and very inviting. I also love the location...right in the middle of downtown...everything is in walking distance. Thank you to Brayden and the team at the Granada hotel for making our stay amazing

This is a lovely hotel, in a good location, but our experience was ruined by the noisy hotel ventilation. Everyone on the reception desk knows that there is a problem with comments such as “yes it is noisy sometimes” but depending who you talk to depends on the reason why it’s noisy. Some saying it’s only one half of the building that has a problem, others saying it was the floor our room was on and another it’s only noisy in our room. All I know is that we had a broken night’s sleep when they turned the ventilation pump on at 6am!! Not good!!

The hotel is beautiful and very inviting. Almost more important, though, are the staff - they are amazing! We stayed just one night (we'll be back!) but were made to feel so at home and welcome by everyone. From Tati (sp?) to the lovely hostess at the restaurant, as well as the shop next door, everyone was so kind and so helpful. When we left we met up with a bunch of friends and told all of them that they have to go to SLO and stay at the Granada. Thank you for the lovely accommodations and the even better staff!
