Detailed Reviews
I was very pleased with Heritage. Sweet, eclectic and old world charm. Teresa was the best! My room was very clean, although I shared the bathroom, it was also kept very clean. I loved the little touches, plus having a sink/running water in my room was an added bonus. The location was perfect for travel. Teresa's breakfast was fantastic! I will definitely stay at Heritage again. Thank you Teresa for being such a wonderful and thoughtful host. I really enjoyed meeting you and your daughter as well. Stay well. See you soon~

My father and I overnighted here in August 2010 while on a drive down the California coast, and Lisa and her perfect little inn made our journey. From the refreshments available on arrival and anytime (including lovely local wines), to the clean, beautifully-presented rooms, to the delicious, abundant, lovingly-prepared breakfast, we enjoyed every moment and every experience Lisa offered us.
A side note: Lisa has a great deal of experience in the hotel industry, and takes serious pride in the cleanliness and upkeep of her establishment. (This is probably the cleanest guest house I've ever stayed in, counting journeys on five continents.) She is also a delightful conversationalist, and kept us well entertained throughout our stay.
Thanks so much, Lisa! Keep up the outstanding work.

We've stayed one night in the Heritage Inn and we arrived by plane from Los Angeles, the owner, Georgia, even picked us up from San Luis Obispo airport after desperatly waiting for a Taxi at the airport. We contacted the B&B and the proprietor immediatly said she'll pick us up. As we were the only ones that night, we booked the grandpa's room but upon arrival, we got to see all the rooms and could pick one of them, what a service. We ended up in Auntie's room. The common badroom was spotless and huge. I read one review about the cat odor, yes, true, but this didn't bother us at all as me and my girlfriend are animal lovers. The breakfast was awesome, nice egg omelette and home made pastries. We had a special time at this B&B and realized we should have stayed longer. We've stayed in numerous B&B's but this one is top charting.

Our stay here was a bit of a nightmare. There was a mix-up regarding the rooms; the manager demanded that we pay more than had been quoted before & was very dismissive/disrespectful thereafter. Eventually, when we paid, he refused to hand us back our change. Room was okay, but sheets were stained.

Management has changed hands. The impeccable, charming cozy inn is gone. 😢 Privacy shades are gone, bedroom window now open to hotel/parking lot next door. Moldy shower, no cold water in bathroom sink, cobwebs on walls, nasty dirty carpet, broken dresser blocking parking space, balcony used as a storage unit, smells like cigarettes 🚬 & weed, no coffee/breakfast (probably a good thing). A few folks who seem to live in some of the rooms, skanky folks in & out @ very late hours. What happened to our wonderful inn? 🤯 Disappointing & SAD!

We were referred to the Heritage Inn B&B by another B&B in San Luis Obispo because they wouldn't allow us to stay with our 11 month old girl and we couldn't have been happier. Georgia, the owner, was great with our little one. She could not have been more inviting and accomodating.
The Inn is an old, old house but it feels like an old home.

We stayed at Heritage B&B for one night in June. It was comfortable for one night but we were glad that we weren't staying longer. The owner/host was very friendly, showed us around when we arrived, offered us brownies, and said that wine and snacks would be available in the living room shortly. We stayed in the "White Lace & Promises" room, which had an ensuite shower room. The hotel is located just off of the highway and it was very noisy. The room was dated, tatty and in need of updating (e.g. the hot and cold labels had fallen off of the taps, the paintwork was dirty), and there was a lot of clutter (random old wedding photos all over the room). I understand that this is a B&B and was not expecting 5 star and ultra modern but it is possible to create a charming and homely environment without all the tatty furnishings. Some of the rooms are not ensuite so make sure you check that before booking if you don't want to share a bathroom. We didn't stay for breakfast so can't comment on that. We've given Heritage Inn 2/5 because we think it was massively overpriced. This was definitely the worst place we stayed during our 17 night trip to the US and it was by no means the cheapest. If they expect people to keep paying $145 a night then they need to make some improvements. We would be willing to give Heritage Inn another chance if we saw some evidence of refurbishment and updating but in its current state we would not stay again or recommend to others.

Having found this B&B two years ago on Tripadvisor, I felt we should re-advise those we told to stay here back then. We have stayed here three times since our first review and each stay was great.
Boy, has it changed. We came for two nights and the experience was so different and much worse.
1)The Breakfast was horrible. When we first started coming the breakfast was amazing; homemade quiche, homemade breads and muffins, fruit salads. Not anymore. Now everything is store bought (I saw all the cartons in the kitchen) and you can taste the difference and quality. Not at all what you expect from a bed and breakfast, this is more like a continental breakfast at the Value Inn. Very disappointing. Poor quality cakes and muffins? That's not why I stay at a bed and breakfast. The first day, someone in the hotel was vegetarian, so they served some sort of flavorless spinach egg dish. I understand that some prefer not to eat meat, but we do, and there should have been a second option for those in the hotel that did. This alone was fine; we thought it was a fluke and we thought breakfast would be better the second day. Again, boy were we wrong.
The 2nd day, we went downstairs at 9:15 for breakfast (it starts at 9). And everything was GONE. What? The hostess was very sweet and explained that she had saved us some and had it warming. "Saved us some" amounted to three pieces of warm sausage, two pieces of cold breakfast casserole from that morning (this being just eggs and artichoke hearts) and a slice of the spinach casserole from yesterday! I was really shocked to see them trying to feed us food from the day before. Needless to say, we ate very little.
I am so sad to see a place we thought would be "our place" when we needed a break from the city change so much. Gone are the days with homemade breakfast's that fill you up and make you feel like you're in someone's home (like a b&b should). Instead, you feel like you're at any other hotel that lays out muffins from safeway, watermelon slices and yogurt and calls it breakfast. With sad hearts, we admitted to each other that neither of us wanted to be come back here. We wont be coming back.
Please know that this review is very hard for me to write. I loved this place. The specialness has gone and that is very sad. I would advise you: the rooms are still great but get ready to leave breakfast hungry and head to a restaurant that serves breakfast the way it used to be here. Don't expect anything special or homemade, because you wont find it here anymore.

I needed a place to unwind after a long road trip and this was the place to do it. No tv, just a beautiful and comfortable room. I did not stay long, I got in late and left early. I was greeted by Lisa at 10pm and she had brownies, tea and wine available. This was such a relief after driving all day everyday for over a week and staying in motels. I had such a restful sleep because there were tons of blankets and pillows on the already comfy bed. The breakfast the next morning was just amazing. Everything we ate was better than the last bite. I have no dietary restrictions, but Lisa was so willing to accommodate us if we did. It was definitely the right place to say in SLO!

Fairly small B&B tucked away just off interstate 101. Communal living room was good, dining area was cramped (and the place wasn't full the night we were there). Bedroom was small and the ensuite was poky.
Close to main shopping centre and there are good restaurants and facilities in the town. I am sure there are better deals for the price.
