This magnificent ranch resort, once the property of a Spanish princess, upholds its historic significance making its guests truly feel like royalty. After driving through a canopy of trees, one enters the gates to a beautiful property and immediately welcomed by resort staff. The grounds have beautiful views of the surrounding hills. The sounds of nature abound as you stroll around the pond or visit the different farm animals including horses, steer, and even emus!
The guest rooms are impeccably decorated and include the finest of amenities. Upon arriving to the room guests are welcomed with a basket of local snacks including artisan chocolates (my personal favorite), chips, beef jerky, and water. During this time of a pandemic, the resort also provided a bottle of hand sanitizer. The bath products were wonderful – I don’t always use hotel shampoos but tried the shampoo and it left my hair feeling really soft! Even a loofah was included with the bath amenities. Bed linens were beautifully monogrammed but more importantly were of high quality. Once I could get my mind to stop thinking about how much I loved this resort, I slept so soundly (not an easy feat for me!)
Breakfast was delicious and included wonderful charcuterie, bread, an egg dish, and French press coffee. It was beautifully presented and tasted phenomenal. There was plenty of seating outside to eat next to one of several Spanish-tile fountains. It was an incredible way to start the day!
While feeling away from everything, the ranch itself actually is conveniently located to many types of activities. Shops and restaurants are just minutes away in San Luis Obispo, wineries surround the area, and Pismo Beach is less than 15 minutes away. Wonderful day trips to take include Harmony, Cambria, and Morro Bay.
I am so happy to have found this fantastic getaway and can’t wait to return!

This beautiful historic ranch Bed and Breakfast located just south of San Luis Obispo was the perfect location for our girl's trip weekend. The Ranch is tucked away from the highway and protected by a coded gate. They meet you at the gate when you arrive to escort you to the parking lot and your room. There were lovely views of the surrounding hills and a peaceful pond. The jasmine garden in the courtyard made the whole place smelled like jasmine. The place would be a BEAUTIFUL location for a wedding. The "continental breakfast" was actually a freshly made meal every morning including freshly made coffee, juice, yogurt, granola, fruits, cheeses, meats, toast, avocado, jam, and eggs with vegetables (we had a hash scramble one morning and frittatas the next two). They were more than accommodating with breakfast times and food options (we requested no meats after day 1). The room comes with complimentary wine tasting which we unfortunately weren't able to take advantage of, but I wish we had time for! The shared space was always kept perfectly clean and open for use. The robes and slippers were so soft and comfortable (and you could take the slippers home with you!), my only complaint with those is that there weren't any hooks for robes/towels in the restroom to hang while you're using the shower so we had the set these on the floor. The rooms felt safe and secure with individual codes and an extra lock on the inside. The rooms were spacious enough and had everything we would need with lots of towels and toilet paper stocked (including ring light makeup mirrors and a hair dryer). The bedding was soft and the pillows were comfortable, the bed was just a little too hard for my liking. Also the room had lots of windows which was great during the day, but didn't get completely dark so I didn't get much sleep. These were my personal particularities and didn't damper the experience overall. My sisters who stayed in the connecting room with a bunk bed (Room 500) had no complaints! Looking forward to coming back!!

What an incredible place! From the moment you drive onto the property you feel welcomed into a beautifully appointed venue with incredible attention to detail. The grounds are large and beautifully maintained, and the rooms are impeccably decorated in rustic elegance and are absolutely spotless. The hosts are warm and welcoming and are available for any and all requests. They offered historical background to the facility, which is absolutely fascinating, and provided input on local destinations. Couldn't recommend more highly, and can't wait to return!!

La Lomita Ranch is very special , unique and the ultimate get away . We thoroughly enjoyed our visit there and will definitely come back. The attention to detail in the rooms is amazing and the complimentary homemade breakfast served was extremely filling and delicious. My husband and i in spite of the cooler evenings enjoyed sitting around the fire pit in the open seated area where they provided a lovely ambiance and surprisingly, amazing warmth. Plenty of hiking trails throughout the premises and situated right in wine country and minutes from San Luis Obispo

The property itself was gorgeous and the hospitality was absolutely spectacular. The hosts provided an amazing spread for breakfast, plenty of insight on the surrounding areas, and a lovely evening wine tasting.

Would highly recommend staying here if you're visiting the central coast/valley

This was ideal for us, a gorgeous inn truly in the country, yet 10 minutes by car from the restaurants and attractions of San Luis Obispo. We were delighted with the large suite, Room 100. Other rooms are on the small side and a bit dark. The rooms don't have blackout curtains and have three high windows without shades. Walls were a bit thin--we could hear people talking next door. Our suite had a kitchen, but there was no cooktop and not even a microwave. The grounds are gorgeous. The owner was away and there was no one to ask for advice on restaurants, wineries or attractions.

Trying to think of a fault … none come to mind. This is such a beautiful location, perfectly fresh buildings and grounds, bedding, wall art ... horses, emus, waterfowl, hummingbirds, fire pit, home cooked breakfast… The owner, Rebecca, is an engaging highly educated host. A great early/mid-week quiet retreat for touring couples as I’m sure the weekends are devoted to weddings (and what a great wedding venue). So glad we found La Lomita - wish we had allowed time for a wine tasting. Two nights are not enough.

My wife and I wanted to celebrate dropping our son off to Cal Poly so we splurged a bit and booked a room for two nights here. It is just a bit outside of town and away from all of the traffic, crowds and noise.

The rooms are impeccable and have some nice personal touches. The staff is very friendly and they want your stay to be as perfect as possible. They have a lounge area with water and the morning breakfast is hand prepared and is delicious.

There is a horse stable where you can feed the horses carrots. There are emus, cows (including a baby calf) and walking trails around the expansive property. It’s a fun place to stay and the quality of the room, the breakfast and the ambiance make it worth to spend a bit more than the hotels in downtown SLO.

This property is stunning! The conversion of the horse barns to sleeping accommodations was done with impeccable quality and taste. The barn doors were left and beautifully refurbished to give the rooms a very unique touch. The rooms are beyond spacious. The views are beautiful. Proximity to town makes it very convenient, but you have the blissful feeling of being very remote. Surrounded by many nearby wineries which is yet another “amenity”.

My wife and I loved La Lomita Ranch. The location is convenient to many great wineries in SLO region but also short drive to SLO downtown. Lots to see with beautiful pond, horses, and even Emus. Morning breakfast was delicious with a variety of food to eat. The rooms are new and very nicely furnished and most importantly, very clean. The hosts, Becca and Allen, were very hospitable and Social.
