We loved our stay at the Posada. Very friendly, clean and charming. The rooms are comfortable and your stay includes a continental breakfast. You can see all the love and pride the owners take in their hotel. Highly recommend.
We spent a night at this lovely inn on our way to Pinnacles National Park. The owner, Mary, greeted us warmly and quickly checked us in. Our quiet balcony room was spacious and clean; everything worked as it should. Mary recommended a restaurant we were happy with. San Juan Bautista is a lovely little town full of historic buildings including the largest of the California Missions. We look forward to returning.
Mary gave us options for 3 rooms, allowing us to try the beds out to make sure that they were firm enough. We had all of the amenities that we could possibly need including the jacuzzi tub, double shower, fireplace and refrigerator. She brought us ice because we mentioned needing to ice an ankle/heel. She also brought us a hair dryer because we forgot ours. We can't say enough about the cleanliness of the room, the service and the perfect location. We highly recommend this wonderful gem and we will definitely be back.
The Posada de San Juan has a Spanish style atmosphere and great place to stay and Great restaurants to eat. I would highly recommend this place. Many different antique shops for every occasion. Please come to San Juan you will enjoy yourself.
Stayed here two nights while attending a wedding in town. Reception were really friendly and helpful in sorting me a room off the ground floor. The location is great for exploring the main shopping street and the nearby historic sites. The room (and hotel in general) are a bit dated but very clean and well maintained with some lovely little features. The fireplace is a nice touch. The double shower/whirlpool bath are a nice addition, imagine couples love them. (Personally couldn't bring myself to fill a bath in the middle of a California water shortage!) Bed was huge and comfy with the BEST PILLOWS I have ever slept on in my life!! The little balcony was a nice bit of outdoor space and obvious efforts have been made to give them a bit of privacy. Having an in room fridge is useful but it isn't enclosed in a cabinet and right next to the bed so I ended up unplugging it as the fan clicking on all night kept waking me. (If you're also a light sleeper don't expect any lie ins in San Juan Bautista- the morning cockerels see to that!) No safe or security box meant I didn't feel comfortable having my room made up (especially as it is not carded room entry so no telling who's coming and going) Not the end of the world for a 2 night stay but still very uncomfortable having to leave my passport credit cards, cash, etc unlocked. Very out dated practice of having to ask reception for a hair dryer and return after use. Not so bad in the afternoon/evening but wouldn't like to have to be going down in my pyjamas first thing to collect it in front of everyone looking like a homeless person! No tea/coffee facilities in the room was a shock! Can't remember the last time I stayed anywhere (even ridicously low budget places!) you couldn't at least boil some water for a brew (but that might just be the tea loving Brit in me showing!) It's these little old fashioned things that let this place down but overall lovely place in a lovely town, just need to sort the finer details.…
