Unhappy/Unhelpful staff. Room wasn't clean. Safe was broken, had to move us to another room. Ventilation covered in dust. Construction in and around hotel. Airplanes flying overhead. Poor breakfast. Disappointed.
The hotel staff was very nice and they gave me a 2pm late check out immediately when I asked during check in. The staff was very helpful when telling my friend where to park his car. The room was great, and it had a fantastic view of the convention center. The beds were good, and really comfy. The bathroom was well appointed, and the shower/bath was pretty clean. Breakfast on the frist day was a underwhelming; though the rest of the time there was much better breakfast spread. All in all this was a great hotel for Crunchyroll Expo.
Hotel was clean and comfortable, but there is not a great deal of organization with valet ( which you really need I order to park there) so if you need to be somewhere at a specific time on a weekend or evening I suggest giving yourself an extra hour to wait for your car. Utilize the text but also go down and talk to valet face to face.
Went to Eagles concert and visit my family to talk about my fathers circumstances medically was hoping to have some rest and relaxation in the process but this hotel was such a disaster was very upset was more stress than working. Should’ve just stayed home.
Vacation/ show, right next to The civic, places to eat and night life. Definitely would stay here again. Parking is an issue though. You can only valet other wise park very very far. Over all worth it.
Check in staff was not friendly. Heater in the room did not work. We were on the top floor and it was very noisy. Valet parking $35 a night and they left our car on the busy street in front of the hotel. When we wanted to get our car, the valet desk was unoccupied and the lockbox with all the car keys was wide open! Bar is closed. Hot breakfast is a joke. It's a Jimmy Dean sandwich that you have to microwave yourself.
For the price charged I would think the conditions of the hotel would be much better. This hotel needs to be remodeled. The beds were squeaky and the mattresses were old and soft. the public spaces looked like they hadn't been upgraded for 20 years. The breakfast was very substandard in quality and variety. The good thing I can say is that the staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional.
My sister and I recently attended the US Figureskating Championships held at the SAP Center in San Jose. We chose the Hyatt Place Downtown because of the Hyatt reputation and the proximity to the event. We couldn’t have been more happy with our choice. We were there for five nights and although the rooms aren’t fancy they were comfortable and clean. Having a coffee maker and small refrigerator in the room was important and having breakfast available every morning was a real plus! The hotel was an easy walk to the SAP Center and the downtown area. And most importantly the staff at the hotel was super welcoming and accommodating! From Nick, who checked us in to Augustine who checked us out, everyone we had contact with was smiling and helpful! We would definitely recommend the Hyatt Downtown San Jose to friends and family. Thanks for a positive experience! We …
I was running late and in a huge rush to check in and get to my room to jump on a work conference call. The guy checking me in sensed my anxiety and RUSHED to get me taken care of and into my room very quickly. I didn't even have to ask - he told me I seemed in a hurry and he'd take care of it. Staff was very nice all around. My only complaint was I wanted an extra blanket around 10pm and was told I'd have to come get one from the front as they were short staffed - not a big deal. Rooms were very clean and the location to the convention center was almost perfect. I'd stay again.
Stayed here for a cheerleading competition that was held across the street at the San Jose convention center. Proximity to that facility is pretty much the only thing this Hyatt has going for it. Severely understaffed, no bar service available in the evening, beg/plead for towels daily, and wait 25-45 minutes for the valet to retrieve your car. Rooms were not Hyatt quality. Pretty disappointing.
