I stayed in the hotel for 12 nights continuously. But the receptionist first assigned me to a room next to the elevator. Then assigned me to another very noisy room. I had to talk to a different receptionist the next day to change to a quiet room.
I stayed at this hotel a couple of times in the past, while attending conferences at the Convention Center across the street. The quality really went down a lot. The first room they gave me, the AC was making very loud grinding noise, probably about to break. Asked to change and was given a different room. In the second room, a fan in the bathroom would never shut off and was loud enough to not let me sleep. The bed was comfortable and WiFi connection good, but honestly this did not feel at all like a $300 a night hotel. Charged me $4 per bottle of filtered water, although World of Hyatt members should receive water free. No room service because of Covid, which is fine, but when I needed more shampoo and conditioner, had to ask twice. First time no one bothered. A shame.
Feels like they slapped some paint on an old property. Breakfast consists of a bunch of generic convenience store items wrapped in plastic, airplane food is a step up. No milk for coffee, only individual half and half containers. Feels about as dated as the rooms. Staff are nice though.
The staff treated me like family. I got in late every night I was there from working and everyone was happy to see me and very helpful. Made my long stay for work very enjoyable, like a home away from home.
If you're looking to stay at a hotel in downtown San Jose within walking distance to Original Joe's, The House of Pizza or Henry's Hi Life, this is your best bet. It has a great location, views, breakfast and service -Thanks again Nick. We highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in San Jose.
Socket in the bathroom did not work, highest power of hair dryer did not work, taking a bath was not possible since the bath stop did not work and lots of dust on the window frame (hasn't been cleaned since very long time...)
Stayed here for 4 nights due to a conference at the convention center. Pros - very close to convention center, clean room, comfortable bed. Cons - poor internet that I had to connect to multiple times and would disconnect without warning (hard to work...), breakfast very limited, on the edge of the downtown area so restaurants and other amenities were farther than other hotels. Noise from downtown area even on 7th floor. Area of downtown is a bit run down, although there is also massive construction in area so may improve with time. Corridors and elevator were not very clean.
Love the king suite with a pullout sofa bed, bar was open until 1am with kitchen and complimentary breakfast. Valet was nice as well as front desk. Make sure you go see Nick at the bar for laughs and amazing service !
I like the Hayatt Place better than Hilton across the street in downtown San Jose. Free Grab & Go Breakfast, Valet Parking for the same price as Hilton hotel parking. Snack bar, rooms have couch, beds are comfortable. Hotel is close to everything.
Great clean place to stay in the heart of SJ. Parking is pricey but expected. Staff was wonderful. Nick who checked us in was awesome! We will definitely stay here again when in town and would recommend.
