The hotel is a tad run down. The carpeting could use to be replaced and the bed was creaky. That being said, if we ever come back to the SAP center we will definitely stay here again. The location and staff far outweighed the outdated decor.

This hotel is a little older and you can tell by the smell of the place. It doesn't smell bad, just old. But it does have it's charm. There is a large, wide staircase by the front desk that makes the place seem quite sophisticated. The room I had was very large and had a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom.... More

Every time my favorite band comes to San Jose, I manage to book a room. Ea ch stay has been a pleasant experience. I loved the "grand hotel" ambiance, and the staff was attentive and gracious. Sure, the carpet in the hallway may have been loose indr spots and it may have been noisy at night, but the jacuzzi was... More

Our sole purpose for our visit to San Jose was going to a Sharks game, so this hotel was very much worth it. It is within walking distance (less than 10 minutes) to SAP Center, and it's proximity to other amenities AND Downtown San Jose was that much more of a compliment to our stay. We did not need to... Unless you really need to save the extra dollars to stay somewhere else, and unless you're happy to bring earplugs and still have to drive or catch an Uber/taxi to your conference in San Jose, then you should just stay somewhere else. The staff are indifferent, the rooms dated, crumbling, and very, very noisy - you'll be woken on the... More

First of all, the property is old and dated. Lobby is shabby. Breakfast was mediocre. But by far the very most important reason to not stay here is that my two year old son almost fell out of a second floor window. I opened the window for fresh air because the room was very stuffy, even with air-conditioning on. There... More

Booked this room off of reviews from TripAdvisor. The outside looks nice, as does the lobby. Stayed on the second floor and immediately noticed the threadbare carpeting, along with a great deal of debris on the floor. The elevator had a strong cleaning product odor in it. After checking in, we had to walk around several cleaning carts still in... More

The hotel lobby was welcoming and the front desk staff were courteous. I stood at this hotel due to the location near to the testing center I had to go to take an exam. The walls are very thin and neighbors kept making noise even after notifying the front desk.

Very nice and quiet hotel. Stayed in Sep 2016 on a Tuesday. Descent hot breakfast. We stayed in king suite on third floor. Construction outside, but were waking early anyway. Would stay here again if travel through San Jose.

There are a lot of really good independent hotels in CA but this isn't one of them. The lobby area is shabby and completely worn out and not clean. The exterior courtyard was not clean with weeds etc growing in beds. The hall carpets have to be from the original hotel and never replaced. This first impression set the tone... More
