The Beachcomber Inn is a quaint boutique style inn situated steps from the Pacific Ocean. The inn was constructed in 1947 and offers vintage at its finest. The Beachcomber is believed to be the oldest continuously running businesses in town, and it is one of the few examples of Spanish Colonial Revival style inns located on a coastal bluff. The blissfully secluded Beachcomber provides the perfect window through which to experience the California lifestyle. This inn, due to the properties' unique position, offers unparalleled views of the waters below. Enjoy surf, sand and sun along with the unobtrusive charm of this inn. Spend the day on the waves, shopping on Del Mar, enjoying free WiFi or dining at a local non-chain eatery. You'll be sure to fill your day with fun or relaxing moments. Just 30 minutes from John Wayne Airport and minutes from the Amtrak train stop, the inn offers oceanfront lodging, complete with individual patios overlooking the beauty of the San Clemente Pier which creates the quintessentially relaxing hideaway. Rooms are also appointed with a fully equipped kitchen, king bed and sofa bed. The grounds allow for a peaceful night by the fire enjoying unobstructed views as the sunset casts a burnt-orange tint over the glistening surf.

The Beachcomber Inn offers clean cozy cottages with spectacular views of the Pacific and the San Clemente Pier. Our unit had a full kitchen, bath, comfy sofa and terrific outdoor patio with chairs and table. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful and well maintained with outdoor tables, umbrellas and a fire pit lit at night. It is an easy walk from the Beachcomber to the San Clemente Pier, restaurants, Casa Romantica and the beach. This was our first time to San Clemente (we came to attend a wedding) but will now consider it and the Beachcomber Inn a destination for a future vacation.

We stayed in February 2019 for our 27th wedding anniversary, we have tried to stay at the Beachcomber for years but they are always booked and we now know why. The views are awesome, and the location is great. We stayed in the South Villa room #9. you can walk to everything local and they have on-site parking. You can open the window on the door and hear the waves crashing all night long! Best place we have stayed in San Clemente! a 10+ for sure!!

The rooms overlook San Clemente pier and the beach. The window is large, just right for this wonderful view. The bed large and comfortable, with adequate bathroom and good kitchen. Easy access to beach, great porch for sunset. We enjoyed the firepit but it turns off a bit early (10pm when we were there). Very relaxing place, even with the commuter train that runs below, between the cliff and beach. Each room has a unique decor and none has a bad view. We had a North room, which has less grass area in front and the road behind, but perhaps a better overall view. An easy walk to bars and restaurants and shops. Beach towels are available upon request.

Been hoping to book a room here for months. Thankfully someone canceled and we snapped it up. Everything about this place is special and can’t wait to return. We were placed in the Southern Rooms and the views and sounds from the waves crashing literally make you feel soooo relaxed. Rooms are very clean, cutely decorated and even come with a fully stocked kitchen. The town is within walking distance so no need to ruin your mood by driving. Excellent food options available, but Nicks is the place for top notch dining. The wait was worth it.

The location is amazing - I used to live near here BUT...back in UK I wanted to visit and asked for information on 2019 pricing and booking. Their first response was brief and gave me a price which was either an 18% increase on 2018 or a 49% increase! I asked for clarification, because they hadn't read my initial email and quoted for only 7 days when I'd asked for 8, and wanted to know how I could tell which villa (or Luxury villa) I was renting. I received a very short, unhelpful and unpleasant tone message back with an increased price for the 8 days, no comment on the %age increase I'd mentioned, and told they don't guarantee any villa so you pay your money and take pot luck! Quite rude really and unhelpful - it IS a great location and good luck to those of you who visit - for me, I'll find somewhere with nicer and more helpful people running it.
