I travel a lot and the service here is the best I have seen in a long time. You can't beat the location. It's nice to park the car and not have to drive. (Free parking onsite) There is good food nearby and the rooms have a full kitchen. Each room has a nice patio as well. Small store nearby... More

Quaint place with about 12 rooms on the cliff in San Clemente with a great view of the pier and ocean. All rooms have the same great view. Small clean rooms with a small kitchen, full size appliance in there though which is nice. Community BBQ and fire pit to sit around. Not much in walking distance for entertainment. Pier... More

The Beachcomber is so quaint and charming, and the best value for any ocean view hotel in southern California. It doesn't have the excessive amount of amenities and glitz that large hotels offer but it's the simplicity and attention to detail applied to the grounds and the comfort of the rooms that makes it such a wonderful place. It is... More

We've stayed at this little charmer for one week during each of the past two years and we absolutely love it. The motel has had a face lift in the past few years and it was well done. The setting is perfect as the property sits just above the San Clemente pier and enjoys perfect sunsets, and a beautiful view... More

We found this place on a day trip to San Clemente and waited several months for an opening .. it was so worth the wait. The Inn is a family business and they make you feel right at home. We stayed in the "family" suite that provided some extra room for our crew. The views - incredible .The rooms are... More

I couldn't have been more impressed with this place. The location and view hardly need my review. It's the property that was so great for us. The rooms/connected villas were so perfectly decorated and equipped. Having your own patio for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening for the amazing views was my favorite part. There were also... More

Almost all of my reviews on Trip Adviser have been positive as my wife and we travel a lot and are pretty easy to please. We have children and have had pets in the past-so love kids and animals. We stayed at the Beachcomber last year for a weekend and the view and location in San Clemente can't be beat.... More

There is not a better spot in San Clemente to enjoy the surf, sand and spectacular sunsets! We loved sitting at the fire pit in the evening and getting to know other guests. Turns out we went to the same high school 45 years ago! The staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly, or caring! What a gem! There is... More

Read the reviews before making my reservation. OK! Needed to celebrate my 70th birthday by staying on the ocean! What a wonderful cozy cabin! Yes, the cabins are old....but, the owners have steadily been remodeling. The room w/king size bed was clean. Cute kitchen. The bath was extremely small, but clean, and you can still shower up! There was even... More

We arrived for just one night on our So Cal road trip early April and we were so unfortunate as it rained most of the time we were there! How unlucky are we!! We were checked in by a lovely friendly lady and were given a North Villa. Our room was gorgeous, very quaint with a small kitchen and adequate... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Beachcomber Inn is a quaint boutique style inn situated steps from the Pacific Ocean. The inn was constructed in 1947 and offers vintage at its finest. The Beachcomber is believed to be the oldest continuously running businesses in town, and it is one of the few examples of Spanish Colonial Revival style inns located on a coastal bluff. The blissfully secluded Beachcomber provides the perfect window through which to experience the California lifestyle. This inn, due to the properties' unique position, offers unparalleled views of the waters below. Enjoy surf, sand and sun along with the unobtrusive charm of this inn. Spend the day on the waves, shopping on Del Mar, enjoying free WiFi or dining at a local non-chain eatery. You'll be sure to fill your day with fun or relaxing moments. Just 30 minutes from John Wayne Airport and minutes from the Amtrak train stop, the inn offers oceanfront lodging, complete with individual patios overlooking the beauty of the San Clemente Pier which creates the quintessentially relaxing hideaway. Rooms are also appointed with a fully equipped kitchen, king bed and sofa bed. The grounds allow for a peaceful night by the fire enjoying unobstructed views as the sunset casts a burnt-orange tint over the glistening surf. ... more   less
