Quirky 1949 property featuring simple, concrete tepees with free Wi-Fi, plus an outdoor pool. Remember the good-ole-days, before air travel was easily affordable and the Road-Trip was king? Those days are still here-at the Wigwam Motel! Originally constructed in 1949, this is the 7th and final Wigwam location in the series of similar properties first launched in by developer Frank Redford in his home state of Kentucky. Situated on famed Route 66, the most famous highway of all, the Wigwam Motel is in the true American tradition of the "Roadside Attraction," just like the giant dinosaurs, villages of mystery and other classic roadside attractions that lined America's highways of the past. The Wigwam Motel is a real slice of Americana, bringing back the heyday of our glorious American past.

This is the third time I have stayed at the fabulous Wigwam Motel and my best visit yet! My room is large and very clean and the bed just slightly high which I prefer, and extremely comfortable! Structurally speaking, the Wigwams are marvels. The interior reminds me of the inside of Jeanie’s bottle on I Dream of Jeanie! There is a sweet and comfortable mid century sofa in the room covered with a beautiful polka dot fabric and a nice little coffee table … to tell you the truth, I enjoyed the room so much I barely left for the 3 days I was here! It was an unexpectedly restorative visit after a difficult few years. Walking around the grounds is a real treat. There are vintage cars and a tractor festooning the circumference of the grounds so it’s fun to take a little walk and just look around! The gift shop is fun too. Great tshirts! If you look closely you will see some charming sculptures and art here and there. I spent my first morning driving west on Route 66 for some tacos and got caught up in the amazing architecture of the Mother Road. I ended up having lunch of Pho Viet in Rancho Cucamonga… exquisite Vietnamese food. I ended up discovering a taqueria, Tacos Unicos, is right across the street and I think there may even be a La Michoacána Ice Cream parlor across the street too. I live in San Bernardino so this was close to a staycation but without the baggage. 😎🙏🙌. I’m already looking forward to my next stay! Thank you!

This is such a cute little place. Perfect for two. It is on a busy highway, in not such a great area. But definitely worth a night here. Not sure I'd want to spend more than one night, but the novelty is so fun. We were in one of the back ones, so it was super quiet. Didn't have any problems. The room was surprisingly large. Looking from the outside you would think it was tiny. But I had a bed, one night stand, a couch, and a table. There was a mini fridge. But there was no coffee maker or microwave. The bathroom was a pretty good size. The shower was a little strange. More like an RV shower with a large step up to get in. The two gentlemen checking Us in we're very friendly. The guy did mention he was training his brother. But he did great. There's a nice pool. We did not use that though. We didn't have time unfortunately. There were several hairs on the towels in the bathroom. But to be honest, I find that in most hotels. It's one of the things I look for, because it grosses me out. Lol. That's all I can really fault. Overall it was a great stay.

Just completed a 9 day trip on Route 66 from LA to Chicago, and had officially started our travels after a night at the Wigwam Motel. The Wigwam was just like the pictures, but better than we even expected. The son of the owner, who checked us in, was friendly, and had answers to our questions about local activities and eateries in the area. The room, ours had two beds, was larger than we thought it would be, neat inside and comfortable. You park right next to your Wigwam, and because there are no common walls, we could have the TV on almost as loud as we wanted. The bathroom had an interesting older tiled walk in shower, but hey, the room is round after all. The Wigwam Motel was a great first night on our Mother Road adventure!

The Wigwam in San Bernardino was the last retro motel we stayed at on our 2 week cross country Route 66 trip from Chicago to Santa Monica, CA. We had made reservations at the one in Holbrook, AZ but switched up our itinerary at the last minute. The Wigwam was great! The owners are lovely. Place was super clean and well kept. Was very surprised at the size of our room! Much larger than expected with a separate sofa/TV viewing area. Bathroom was very clean with great water pressure in the shower (this was an issue in a couple of the older motels we stayed at, but not here). For an authentic Route 66 experience, stay at the Wigwam!
