Hotel's Favorite
Stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites this past weekend for a family reunion, and I was pretty much blown away at the quality and service that this little hotel delivered. Gary was our front desk attendant/concierge and he exceeded all expectations in courtesy and efficiency. I had an issue with my TV and he actually came to the room to deal with it. Then, he actually called back to check in to make sure the problem was resolved. Who does that these days?? I also dealt with the young lady with braces and she was a smiley, sweet young lady too!! It was really a pleasure to deal with these staff members!! Even housekeeping and the attendants at the breakfast bar always wore a smile. Speaking of the breakfast bar, I can’t remember when I’ve had a more well prepared breakfast buffet (maybe I don’t travel enough). Hot food including flavored waffles, omelets, breakfast sausage and oatmeal, as well as the cold food items that included fruit, cereals, juices and prepared smoothies really set the tone for a great day. I just think in this day and age to get value such as this is a hard find. Such a great experience certainly casts a favorable view on Hampton and Hilton Hotels. I will certainly look for Hampton next time I travel!!

This used to be a solid place to stay, but that was a few years back. On this visit I found this place to be OLD AND TIRED. Usually you can count on Hampton for a good hot breakfast, but not on the three days I was here this time. First day I went down about 9 am, and almost everything was gone. There was one guy there filling a few of the trays, but most everything was empty. People were standing around (maybe 50 people waiting) for more food to be brought out. Breads empty, hot trays empty, except for 6 burnt saussages that nobody wanted, so the choice was waffels and that's it. I waited around for more hot food to be brought out, and at 9:30 the guy in the kitchenette said NO MORE FOOD WOULD COME OUT, and we were out of luck. Then on day 2, there was some aweful egg omlets with peppers, and potatoes. No meat choice. Aweful. Day three I was thinking for sure they'd have bisquets and gravy that hampton is known for. Not here. I asked at the front desk and was told this hampton had really changed up the breakfast, and he was not sure they ever gave out bisquets and gravy anymore. Real disappointment.

Response from Gordon C, General Manager at Hampton Inn & Suites Salinas

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. I would like to first apologize for a staff member to ever tell you or any of our guest that we are out of food, this has and will never be the case, as you are aware Hampton does offer a great breakfast and this hotel is no exception. The holiday weekend was extremely busy and at times it is difficult to keep up with the demand. We do take these comments to heart and are always looking fir ways to improve our service and continue to remain a hotel that has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence by our great customers.

My family loves staying at this property. We love the breakfast and the indoor pool with hot tub. My 5 year old calls this Hampton her castle. The staff is always friendly I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Great hotel with wonderful staff. Clean rooms and kiddos enjoyed the nice indoor pool. The free breakfast was wonderful especially when traveling with large group. We felt safe at this hotel and used the gated parking underground.

during my check in, I believe the front desk person was still training and the person training her was a bit condescending towards her. I just wanted to be checked in and was exhausted and didnt want the trainer to showboat. I got upstairs to my room and it was smaller than the other properties I stayed in. it was smaller than the one in Buellton. beds were comfortable and I walked barefoot on the carpet and it was sticky. other than that, it was good enough for one night. I did use their laundry facility and it was $1.50 per wash and dry: which is a good deal. the washer smelled moldy though. breakfast was ok: you can make your own waffles , but the food selection was ok. I'm not super impressed with the place, but it will do.
