This hotel has many positive things, but they are not enough to justify the high price tag. The location, in the middle of St Helena is wonderful, the lobby resembles an art gallery and the place looks super modern, fancy and clean. The parking is convenient, the elevator is spacious and the rooms were elegant, clean and the bed was the BEST. I travelled with my kids so they had already prepared the extra bed in the room and it was very comfortable and elegant as well. They also have additional details that are very nice, like free cookies, free drinks in the fridge and fruits in the lobby. The breakfast was included and the food selection was so spectacular that I went to the local bakery to buy a bag of the granola for me (photo attached). All these things were great, but for the price I would expect almost perfection.. and the devil is in the details. These are the things I’d improve: 1) stairs carpet should be cleaned 2) air conditioners units on the hall to the room and big trash containers should be hidden (photos attached) 3) the bar on the lobby should be open for guests to enjoy when they come back from touring around.

Thank you so much for your review. Your time is certainly appreciated. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and the amenities we have to offer. Our carpets were professionally cleaned in December so every effort is made to keep everything sparkly clean. We do keep a few stainless steel waste cans with covers strategically placed for our guest's convenience. The countertop in The Tea Room is used primarily for our continental breakfast in the mornings as we are not permitted to sell alcoholic beverages. However, guests are encouraged to enjoy their own wine or spirits and we are glad to provide the glassware any time day or night. Hope to see you here again soon!

We stayed at the Wydown over Veteran's day weekend. It was very quiet and clean. There were chocolate chip cookies every evening which my husband really enjoyed after dinner :) The breakfast is very nice and has a lot of carb options and yogurt. I would have preferred some more protein options, but it was fine. We at breakfast out a couple mornings. The location is great, quick walks to great restaurants and wineries/wine salons. The parking was great. The only thing that would have made it that much better would have been that much better, would have been the offering of winery maps or some in the room. The front desk wasn't staffed much of the time we walked in and out, so we didn't get a map for a couple days. We did fine without, so just a little nit pick for convenience. Overall we had a wonderful stay and nice visit.

For many years we have spent the Thanksgiving holiday weekend at one of the major fine hotels in Yountville. Unfortunately they have gotten terribly expensive. The rates we were quoted this year were over $500/night. We looked in TripAdvisor to find a less expensive alternative, and were lucky to find the Wydown Hotel in St. Helena. The Wydown is a fairly new hotel with modern decor and a very pleasant vibe. It is located on Main St. less than a block north of the main shopping district of St. Helena. It's a quiet location and really perfect for exploring the Napa Valley, and literally just steps away from the nicest town in the Valley. The rooms are modern, very clean and well appointed. The lobby area is very comfortable. An excellent and complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning with excellent breads and pastries from the Model Bakery in St. Helena, and the Bouchon Bakery in Yountville. Coffee, juice, yogurts, boiled eggs and delicious granola are also available. Tea and fresh fruit are available throughout the day in the lobby, and delicious chocolate chip cookies are put out every night. The fridge in the room is stocked with water and soft drinks at no charge. There is also a Nespresso machine with coffee in each room. Furthermore, the staff are incredibly accommodating and wonderful. And...most importantly, all of this is provided for about half of what the hotels in Yountville charge. The Wydown is a real find!

There are lots of choices in Napa/Sonoma but this is clearly a favorite of ours. Located in the middle of Napa County it is easy to get to where you want to be instead of spending all of your time in the car. Great location, good people who car3 about you.
