During COVID, I certainly give most hotels as pass, and many have had to close. In fact, I had multiple hotels contact me to let me know they would be closed and to tell me they had re-accommodated me at a sister property. As a Marriott Ambassador level member, hotels would just reach out, say they were canceled, and let me know which other Marriott property they had transferred my reservation to. The Ritz in Tokyo went as far as to tell me they would honor my rate any other time I wanted to visit, which was nice and is something I would expect from a nice, service level hotel. This hotel never emailed me or contacted me. I only knew they weren't open when my reservation went missing from my Marriott app only one day before my arrival date. The hotel had closed, but it was set to open before my reservation. I think the hotel should have made an effort to reach out and let me know. Even better, I think the hotel should have let me change the dates at the same rate. Even if staff were gone, I think a manager should at least contact someone to let them know that a reservation can't be honored. I reviewed my email in box, and even my "trash" and "junk" folders, but I had not been contacted about the cancelation here, making it the only hotel out of 9 that I had booked that alerted me to the cancelation. I even received an email a few days before my scheduled trip alerting me to plan for the upcoming trip by giving me information about the area. If this were not such a pricey hotel, and if I didn't have status with the hotel management company, I would have shrugged it off. But, I would expect to be contacted by a hotel of this caliber.

We headed out of SFO for the weekend and anxiously looked forward to our stay at Las Alcobas, and we were not disappointed. The grounds, room, pool / spa / sauna and Acacia House were all top notch... we are already looking forward to coming back soon.

Staff is amazing here. Valet Eric recommended a great winery for me for sparkling wine. I had a ground floor room with a fire pit that overlooked the vineyard. The rooms are really high tech and bed is comfy.

We had an overnight stay on Sunday to celebrate our anniversary. The moment we arrived at valet, we were checked-in. The guest services and reservation tie-in was unexpected. Because we arrived early our room wasn't ready so we were led to the "living room" where we were greeted by the restaurant manager. There really wasn't a moment we were left astray. We mentioned that we had a dinner reservation and he readily confirmed it. A short while later our room was ready and we were shown to our room, our luggage and belongings were already hung in the closet. Our room was spacious with all the modern amenities, the jaw dropping thing was that it opens up to the beautiful Beringer vineyard. The view with the blue sky is amazing, quite an envy when my friends saw the photos. We checked out everything in the room, and everything works! I have never had a French press coffee service as an in-room amenity, how classy! The bed and linens were quite fine, we had a very restful sleep; for one thing, the bed did not cause a tsunami whenever my partner tossed and turned as some other hotel beds would do. Love the spacious bathroom and clean smelling bath amenities. As for The Acacia dining experience, our special occasion was acknowledged immediately and we sat at a cozy corner. The food was delicious. Everyone who came to our table were extremely helpful and courteous. We went back for breakfast the next day and had the most velvety potatoes. We found out the secret cooking technique. We did not have a chance to enjoy the spa and the pool. Next time we shall. Our check out was friendly, quick and easy with the lovely agents. Oh, one more thing, I absent mindedly left my phone in the room and valet ran after us to return it. He said the room cleaner saw it and reacted quickly. A truly BIG thank you to your amazing staff.
