This hotel exceeded our expectations and we can hardly wait to return! We literally felt like we were staying in the middle of a vineyard as the property is surrounded by local vineyards such as Duckhorn and Freemark Abbey. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful, and our view from one of the cottages, #30, was amazing. While the bathrooms are dated, the shower, towels, robes, etc. made up for that. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the outdoor space was perfect. We also had a mini fridge. The breakfast buffet was a perfect gathering spot for our party of 8 to leisurely meet up every morning. The indoor seating is nice, but we preferred to have breakfast every morning on the outdoor terrace overlooking the beautiful surroundings. The buffet had a different egg option every morning (quiche or scrambled or frittata), bacon and sausage, cereals, yogurts, granola, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, and juice choices. The coffee bar was available starting at 6:00 am (which is perfect for us eastern time zone people), and available all day. The hotel is less than a 10 minute drive from downtown St. Helena, where we found some amazing restaurants. We would definitely recommend Cook, Market, Charter Oak, and Brasswood. The overall feel I had from this hotel was similar to some quaint European places we have stayed…beautiful, very laid back, quiet, peaceful, solid breakfast, and comfortable rooms.…
If you are looking for a serene, peaceful spot in Napa with a good price point for the area - this is it. The property is beautifully maintained - really pretty. Rooms are spacious, updated, and very clean with great views. The only complaint on the rooms is the bathrooms have no counter space. Pool is so quiet, very lovely, and well maintained. Daily free breakfast is excellent!!! Homemade egg dish, high-quality pastries, good granola - lots of options. The staff was nice, and they give you unlimited free bottled water which is a nice gesture. This is not the place to stay if you want the Napa trendy scene. You won't find a fun bar, well-dressed crowd or a hip pool. This is a romantic pretty property that is in a good location.
Worst hotel ever stayed. Housekeeping never came and cleaned our room. They charged us for an extra night for checking out an hour later. Rooms have spiderwebs all over. Uncomfortable bedding. Stay away. It’s a complete rip off. There are many great other options.
Wine Country Inn is one of our favorite hotels! This was our second visit (first since COVID) and we were not disappointed. Very nice room with nice view of the vineyards. Clean and quiet. Friendly staff and a nice breakfast each morning.
My husband and I reserved the cottage for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary/retirement. The cottage is a spacious, stand alone unit with a private patio overlooking grapevines. It is a picturesque scene! The pool is a good size with plenty of chairs in a tranquil setting, plenty of parking and amenities. The room had a kuerig, over large bathroom with jetted tub, fireplace and separate living room area. And the king size bed comfy. My only cons; for the price breakfast did not meet expectations. Was buffet style, you get what they give you, no made to order options. No one serves you. Coffee was bad, bitter! Typical breakfast was an egg item with bacon and sausage, cereals, yogurts and fruit. No homemade muffins just sliced breads and croissants but they ran out the first morning we were there. The whole time we were there we never saw any employees except at check- in. FYI- there were many steps from the parking spots to the cottages so if you can’t carry your suitcases up and down that may be a consideration not to choose a cottage. But we loved the privacy and the peaceful surroundings. The location was perfect and convenient to downtown St Helena and many of the wineries.…
We stayed here 4 nights over an extended Easter weekend. Check in was easy. They gave us a room on the first floor of the Inn. On the good side, it was nice to have a walkout to the patio outside our room. On the not-so good side, we heard every step from the occupants in the room upstairs. The pool area is nice, we used the hot tub every night. The location is convenient to all the vineyards in the vicinity. On our last morning there, they re-opened their breakfast buffet (after closing it two years ago). Overall, we really enjoyed the stay!
I have never previously reviewed a property, however I felt compelled to do so on this occasion. At a cost of nearly £400 per room per night, this place is extremely overpriced for the service provided. It’s a complete rip off! There is no restaurant on site. A very basic breakfast is delivered to your room (at the incorrect time) in a paper bag, with plastic cutlery and polystyrene plates. Juices were straight from a carton and butter and jam packets, the variety you would find at a service station. An absolute insult!
The vineyard rooms are definitely the best Only book these We didn’t The receptionist who checked us in wasn’t very friendly She described a very nice room with a balcony then re-grouped to let us know our room wasn’t so grand - no balcony, small windows, up a few flights of stairs We carried our luggage up, since there was no elevator We stayed here before and enjoyed delicious breakfasts and wine tastings These have been eliminated For breakfast, we got a shopping bag of food brought to our room This had to be pre-selected at checkin Coffee was available in the reception area We did have a warm bottle of white wine on our dresser We tried to exchange it and was told that’s not allowed
This was our third stay here. Unlike the past, they’ve cancelled the breakfast (room service has replaced the prior breakfast service in the main inn), no cheese and wine happy hour and they used to shuttle you to the local restaurants. Most of the “experience”. Pool is a motel 8 pool at best. Overall new owners cutting every possible corner for a premium property price. Stay elsewhere.
We booked a vineyard view cottage for a 2 night/3 day stay, and we loved it! The property only has 5 cottages, 3 with vineyard view and 2 with garden view. Our cottage was the middle one (#30). The cottage was spacious and very clean. We were pleasantly surprised to see a nook with beautiful stained glass windows, ideal for quiet reading and a huge bathroom. The large bathtub/jacuzzi was also graced with a beautiful stained glass. The shower area had three shower heads, one big one above and two regular size ones from the wall. There's a sitting area, too. The bathroom was always well lit with natural lights from the two skylights. The towels were thick and plush. The patio had 4 lounge chairs and a small fountain with a view of the vineyard and the mountains. Due to COVID, breakfast was not buffet style. The day before, you fill out a piece of paper with the time you want your breakfast delivered and the items you want. The vegetarian quiche was especially good. They also provide a breakfast "to go" in a bag if you're heading out. Coffee is served 24/7 in the reception area or you can always brew your own using the Keurig in your room. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the services provided by Wine Country Inn. Will come back again!…
