We stayed here for four nights and are so very happy we chose this particular inn in the country. Although everyone in California was enduring poor air quality due to the fires, we found the staff at the inn have made our stay streamline during the Covid pandemic. We never felt uncomfortable as they have thought of everything. Our room was comfortable and our views of the vineyard and the old oak trees were precisely what I was looking for. We were the only guests in the pool area, and they had a protocol for cleaning it and allowing only so many guests at a specific time. Lovely country inn and staff.

We were booked in by friends who were taking us to the Napa Valley for our first trip ever. Three couples and none of us had stayed here before.

We arrived about 2pm and the Duty Manager Justin couldn't have been more charming and helpful, he allocated our three rooms (we had to wait 10 min for one, no drama) and then sought to explain all that they had to offer at the Inn:

1. Wine and cheese tasting at 5pm - 6pm from a selected local vineyard
2. Buffet breakfast in the morning (with Waffles on demand)
3. Pool

And then sought to offer us suggestions on some of the best vineyards / tasting rooms and dinner options to try for our short stay in the Valley. Every one of Justin recommendations was Spot On!

My husband and I went to our room. Room 5 on the Ground Floor. It was Stunning. the room has been recently redone, elegant farmhouse decor, plenty of space and storage, perfectly fitted bathroom, with a great shower, and windows on both sides with views over the nearby vineyards. Just perfect.

The Inn is in a great location, close to many vineyards, tasting rooms, restaurants, and the Town of St Helena, with a myriad of dining and shopping facilities.

The bed was PERFECT, great linen, perfect weight quilt, and a lovely darkened room at a perfect temperature to sleep in.

In our Two Week trip to the US and Canada, this was the best room, the best bed, and the best sleep. Better than the Intercontinental in SF.

Only complaint? We were only there one night! We could easily have spent a few days exploring Napa Valley from this great base, and spending time relaxing.

Can't recommend it highly enough ....

My husband and I stayed here last week celerating our anniversary in the valley. Overall, we had a great time! These are the reasons we loved Wine Country Inn & Cottages:

1) The room was gorgeous. We orginially booked a garden view deluxe room but were upgraded to a garden view cottage and we were totally blown away by it.
2) The location was great. Super quick and easy to get everywhere we booked.
3) It was so quiet. It was a super peaceful place to stay.
4) Breakfast is included! We were able to get something small in the mornings before our first reservations of the day

The only issue we had was that there were some cleanliness issues with the room. At check in we were told that our room would be cleaned on the 3rd day of our stay and to let them know if we needed cleaning more frequently than that. Once we got in the room, for the most part everything looked great, but we noticed a fair amount of what looked like dog hair on the floor in the bathroom, in the tub, and by the window nook by the front door. We let them know and the room was cleaned again the next day but the hair was still there so I don't think they thoroughly swept. The second night, we moved the couch and found some type of old food underneath it which was pretty gross. Also they didn't clean the room after the third day so we called to ask when they would be coming and they told us we were supposed to schedule a cleaning so it looks like there was a miscommunication there.

All in all we had a great time and would come back though!

There are so many good things about this secluded getaway. From the moment we checked in, the front desk was very polite and accommodating. They let us store our wine as we arrived before our room was ready, not to worry as there are so many things to do near by. They did give up a little bottle of rosemary hand sanitizer too and I am in love with it.

When we parked and got into our room, it was beautifully appointed, felt relaxing with the perfect fountain and outside sitting area. The bed and sheet quality were luxurious and very soft. The bathroom was perfectly lit, had heated floors, comfy bathrobes, rain shower and spacious double sinks. A small bottle of Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc was waiting for us, which we chilled and went for dinner at nearby Brasswood.

After dinner, we returned back to relax and enjoy. It was still pretty early, around 7-ish. We enjoyed the wine and each other’s company. We heard a door slam above us and stomping and a shriek. Then more screaming and laughing. Lots of walking around in heels back and forth drunkenly. This continued through out the evening and late until the night. We could hear everything. We turned on music to try and drown out the noise. It didn’t help. Every time we tried to ignore the sounds coming from above, they would drop something or laugh really loudly over and over.

The floors have no insulation from above noise. Would never stay in a bottom room here. Our experience was not relaxing at all, which was such a shame as it is a lovely property. But there are so many amazing places to stay in Napa and Wine Country Inn & Cottages missed the mark.

My partner and I booked a weekend stay at this hotel. We got a king room with a vineyard view. The room was spacious and the views of the vineyard were gorgeous. We were initially quite satisfied with the place overall, until later at night when we were in bed and noticed blood stains on the sheets. It wasn't just one or two drops—there were several, in different spots throughout the bed as well as the blanket.

It seems that housekeeping is not doing a good job of cleaning the sheets each night. The poor housekeeping is especially concerning amidst the pandemic. It's concerning enough that blood is on the sheets and not being cleaned, and it's a whole other concern that housekeeping didn't even notice the stained sheets.

We called the front desk to request new sheets and blankets, but they were only able to provide us with a very thin sheet, so despite booking a deluxe king room, we had to sleep without comfy sheets and blankets.

There are several other gorgeous boutique hotels in the Napa area. Book another place that takes cleanliness more seriously.

Avoid this hotel! My husband and I came despite corona for my 40th birthday. We were really excited for our romantic weekend, especially after being stuck at home for months during corona. I never leave reviews but we’ve had such a lovely vacation in Napa up until we came HERE. We paid $525 a night to book the “garden view” room. FYI it consists of one little bush and two small uncomfortable chairs. There is literally no view except dying out bushes! The room is a nice size but the noise of people walking overhead is terrible. You can hear every step. To top it off , my husband went to the front desk to purchase a bottle of wine for our room and they were missing many of the wines on their already small menu ( we will try to enjoy it despite our being uncomfortable with our room but you’d think If you were staying at the Wine Country Inn just maybe we would have to option to purchase a Cabernet which would have been much more to our liking. ) Also keep in mind - there are no plates available , no silverware , and only two hours allowed at the pool each day. With so many many other good options for hotels in Napa I definitely regret booking here .

Nice Facility, Begrudging Service
Very unfortunate that the extra touches have disappeared under the cloak of COVID 19. For example- substandard breakfast del’d luke warm to your room but only at times pre- reserved ahead by the guest the night before. Nice pool but no towels available there. a stack of ten towels replenished every so often would be more in line with the level of these accommodations. the staff seemed utterly indifferent.

We booked a vineyard view cottage for a 2 night/3 day stay, and we loved it! The property only has 5 cottages, 3 with vineyard view and 2 with garden view. Our cottage was the middle one (#30). The cottage was spacious and very clean. We were pleasantly surprised to see a nook with beautiful stained glass windows, ideal for quiet reading and a huge bathroom. The large bathtub/jacuzzi was also graced with a beautiful stained glass. The shower area had three shower heads, one big one above and two regular size ones from the wall. There's a sitting area, too. The bathroom was always well lit with natural lights from the two skylights. The towels were thick and plush. The patio had 4 lounge chairs and a small fountain with a view of the vineyard and the mountains.

Due to COVID, breakfast was not buffet style. The day before, you fill out a piece of paper with the time you want your breakfast delivered and the items you want. The vegetarian quiche was especially good. They also provide a breakfast "to go" in a bag if you're heading out. Coffee is served 24/7 in the reception area or you can always brew your own using the Keurig in your room.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the services provided by Wine Country Inn. Will come back again!

We travel quite frequently. We love to come to Napa and we do so all the time. When we come to the Napa Valley we enjoy staying in different places as well. On this trip we booked the Wine Country Inn & Cottages, what a mistake! The gal that checked us in was not interested in providing good customer service at all. We were told that many of their services are not available because of COIVD. Really? The only requirement right now is to wear a mask indoors. Why didn't it say all of this when we booked our room at almost $700 per night for a Sun-Tuesday?
She basically pointed at the wall to tell us where our room was. It took us awhile walking around the property to find it. She shoved a letter at us and told us to read it. I guess we were caught up in enjoying our day and it was 5 pm so we didn't realize we need to call the day prior to get our room clean. How do you check in and she doesn't ask us since it is so late in the day? We were just going to get ready for dinner and leave which is what we did.

Fast forward we come back from our day in the Napa Valley and our room is not cleaned. I called the front desk where Shelia was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to. She very rudely asked me if I read my letter? She proceeded to talk to me like I was a child. I hung up the phone and told my husband, "Did we seriously pay almost $1400 for this?" You don't clean the room, you don't bring us towels, you don't take out the trash, and you talk to your guests so terribly.

From someone who travels, and has been a manager in the customer service business for over 30 years, do not stay at the Wine Country Inn & Cottages until they improve their customer service and rude employee attitudes. Other guests here felt the same way as we did. COVID is NO excuse for being rude to someone who is paying a lot of money to stay at your Inn. I guess they are desperate, but this is only going to affect their bookings. People do read these reviews.

It is overpriced and the staff ruin the experience.

I would recommend Wine Country Inn to anyone looking for a cozy, quiet place in Napa.

We got the superior vineyard view and it was stunning. Looked exactly like it did in the pictures, which was a pleasant surprise. Our room was higher up on the property - the lower rooms probably have a nice view, but I'm glad we sprung for the superior.

Staff was super friendly and helpful, although we didn't need to interact with them much - which is a good thing.

What keeps it from a five star for me was that the room itself (minus the view) felt expensive for what you got. It was fine but nothing special, found lipstick on the cups the first day, minor things like that. I'd say the view made it worth it, though. It was only a couple minutes drive into town, easy drive to tons of wineries, and yet still felt nice and secluded. We'd stay there again.
