We attended a wedding and reception here. The property is beautiful as the building is historically quaint. Some of the wedding family members stayed at the hotel and they really enjoyed their rooms. The grounds are nicely landscaped and private. The wedding meal was delicious. There were salmon, chicken, beef and vegetarian pasta choices. The side dishes served with each... More

My stay was pleasant the first two nights. On night three, I discovered someone had used the bed & glasses! Clean towels missing and dirty towel left. It was an invasion of privacy and a health hazard on the short list! Harry apologized & remade bed; gave me new towels and his personal cell # for follow-up and said call... More

My Church had their annual Ladies Prayer Breakfast here and it was amazing. The set up, layout, and professionalism shown by our host was superb. I can see why peeople choose to get married here. It's beautiful!

This is a great way to break up a trip to what can seem a relentlessly modern and ever-changing city. It's a small mansion, easily toured in an hour. Allow an hour for the gardens and a quick coffee in the nice cafe. Viscaya is particularly interesting because, while it is full of beautiful furniture, there's not much that's really... More

We stayed in room 4 (second floor) at the Viscaya Mansion and enjoyed a unique room, with the bathroom being huge and the bedroom being very tiny, relative to each other. We enjoy the anomalies of old houses made "modern." Wifi was free and the flat screen TV worked fine. Our view was to another old house, where many of... More

I think they primarily cater to wedding clientele but I stayed here there nights for a recent trip. Arrived late in the evening called the number at door and the inn keeper promptly opened the door, checked me in and showed me to my room. This is an old mansion from late 1800s that has been redone as a b/b.... More

I used to go to Sacramento on a monthly basis for work, and I discovered Vizcaya. Instead of staying in a cheap hotel, I was able to stay in an elegant old mansion for the same price, with a cozy breakfast included in the morning. I would arrive in the evening and they would keep the light on, literally! Every... More

I came to this bed and breakfast to stay one night for business. My first impression was that it was beautiful. After I checked in I was advised the thermostat was to my left and wished a good stay. First thing I noticed as I got into bed was a lot of hair entwined into the blanket. Gross! I hate... More

When we got to the Vizcaya bed and breakfast we couldn't find where to check in. When we finally got to our room it was freezing. They told us the thermostat in the hallway controlled the heat in the rooms? What? The carpets were old and dirty. They were working on the room above us and there pounding and smells... More

My parents have stayed here twice while visiting from out of town. Both times, they were extremely happy - enough that they wen't back the second time! Staff is accommodating, friendly, and extremely helpful. Rooms are recently remodeled and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location central to Midtown, East Sac, and close to all the freeways. A great... More
